- Heres a play through of "Thy Underling" from our record "Sarcoma" out on Nuclear Blast records.
This play through showcases the Seymour Duncan Jupiter 7 String Bridge position pickup. My live guitar rhythm take in the video is hard right panned, the solo is in stereo.

Those three notes after the whammy were slick
Yeah, sound like Mathias IA Eklund.
My socks came off
Dope! Wasn’t expecting it and it went perfectly
Goddamn right 🦶🍌
No one is talking about the slide/scrape part. That was amazing and under-appreciated!
That is legitimately hard to get crisp sounding and that seamless. Definitely appreciate it based on how quiet tight he is throughout the whole thing.
No wasted movement. Tight as hell. Ultimate respect, dude. I can’t wait to hear what Alluvial makes next.
Flawless technique..
Best phrasing ever in metal since Dime, hands down. Nobody has this much, expression, character, catchy sensibilities, that’s why I preach about your music like the gospel to everyone.
Agreed. It’s hard to put your finger on it when you first hear Wes, he just has that “it” quality. After years of listening it’s easy to see now! Also one of the best writers in metal rn.
The only one I can think of that comes close to Wes in terms of expression is Brandod Ellis.
Vildhjarta
I see this comment made about literally every pro guitarist on YT and especially about famous guitarists.
Dime & McLaughlin
I feel like if Dime would have picked up a 7 and wrote something it would have been this and I just picture him smiling ear to ear bobbin’ around having a great time. Thank you Wes for all the amazing music!
Man, your riffs and tones are instantly identifiable as your stuff. You absolutely have your own sound that nobody but you brings to the table. See you in March in Austin, TX. 🤘
100%
Ibanez needs to give this man a signature Iceman already. I'd buy one.
Cleanest riffing I believe I've ever seen and that tone is perfect. Instantly subscribed.
This dude is a true RIFFLORD 🔥
I want to shred like Wes when I grow up. He's a bad dude
idk i thoght he was pretty good
I recently took account of the records I listen to the most and realized that Wes is at the root of most of them. It's as if one day it dawned on you that 5 of the 7 restaurants you love the most all have the same executive chef.
I installed the custom shop Jupiter 7 signed by you and the SD crew last night at around 8pm. I played until 3am. The note separation and low end control is insane. It sounds like I'm recording every note as a separate take when doing bigger chords on heavy distortion. This one is staying forever in my main guitar, this is THE pickup for me!!!!
Thank you and all the folks at Seymour Duncan for this amazing pickup!
Man I miss your videos Wes, you are such a pleasure to watch playing. You inspire me to wanna be a better player.
Please, please, please post more videos mate 🍻🍻🍻🍻
FYI I’m buying a pair of Jupiter’s for my iceman 🤘🤘
Man your coordination of switching different strings and riff changes is on point!
Desperately need this for the whole album.
Tone and playing are bonkers. Always good surprise to see you post stuff. Keep them coming !
Such a sick tune. 👑
I recently bought a pack of about 30 dollars with the best amps: 5150, PurpleNightmare etc... this preset sounds far better than the 30 bucks I spent. We all know that these rigs must then process to get what each one is looking for. You've got a very well-born rig. thanks
Hey thanks buddy. I’m a hobbyist engineer at best, I just move mics around until I like it. I wanted to give this one away to see if anyone liked it. I’ll probably release a kemper bundle in the next few months
Man your playing and control over the guitar have been my goal for the last few yrs now and i can honestly say that making myself pick cleaner and more efficient has changed everything for me as a guitarist. Thank you dude
I'm wondering how to comment on all of your stuff and just have no idea.. You are the best guitar player I've seen, and I'm sure you could play every guitar line that exists in all of the world. Seeing your finger movement and knowing how many tons of hours you spend to play like this... man, you are a master of masters :D It's one of my dreams to hear your playing live, hope to see you in some concerts of Europe tour. You are my motivation to keep practicing on the guitar. Thank you, Wes! Never stop making this incredibly perfect music. With lots of respect from Poland, Karol
You have no idea how much this made my day. /m/
Damn.. this is epic man!!
Been using these pickups for the better part of 2 years and they truly are incredible.
Yes, my fav song of the album!
This is amazing! When u hit that harmonic at 3:01 and tap those high notes with that whammy bar…. Nasty good. Thanks for sharing Wes! Can’t wait to see this live.
Amazing show
We need more playthroughs, brother. Guitar, drums, bass too. And if not a whole rerelease of the first album with vocals, then one or two of the songs. And promote the hell out of the current album, more people need to hear it. Good to see an upload.
The clarity is sooooo good
Tightest stance in the game! Easily the most well engineered pickup on the market.
the sweetest thing is the pic of himself and his wilfe behind him, it is really beautiful
Yours are the only sound and playing what makes 7 string sounds great. Love your tone.
That opening riff is one of my all time favorites. So insanely good!
This whole thing is just a masterpiece. Been following Wes for years and this album has some absolute bangers on it. Can't stop listening to this one.
I love your tone ,when you play palm mute power chords it sounds like a howitzer shot
Wes is a monster . Love this guy's playing and style. So killer.
Jeeeeeez so MANY tasty riffs in this song!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I literally cant imagine a tone heavier than this. Ive been trying to create my own tone thats as heavy as possible as far as my own standards but this is it. I want to match this tone but not that im just copying it, but because i really feel that this is my tone. Alluvial is easily my favorite band and my whole life ive always said idk what my favorite band is. Thank you my good man
Best song off sarcoma. Sickest solo too.
Oh man!!!! The tone bro!!! I’ve been on a rgd kick lately too! Been playing the shit out of my 2127fx such great guitars! They just have that tone!
FUCK YES dude. Making these shitty pandemic times better by bringing out one of the best metal records I have listened to in years. THANKS!
so tight sounding i love it
This is inspiring!
I haven't enjoyed metal album like that in a while. Amazing musicianship :D
Wow!! Amazing! Your right hand is your secret weapon!! 👍👍🤘🤘🤘
Your sound is so fantastic!! Unique deluxe!!!!
Sick touch and tone as always Wes
If you look up what music theory is, Wes's name is the definition. Goddamn.
What a savage riff 🤘
Wow this is so great !!! Fantastic riffs man😮🌚
That tone is all kinds of nasty. Epic tune, clean AF playing as always and filthy tone.
its typical for the tc-100 with an fortin 33.
If ever there was a living, breathing sentient android out in the world already, it would be a toss up between you and JR. Utterly flawless technique and phenomenal tone and inspiring composition. I always look forward to your uploads and I can't see that ever changing. Keep smashing it out of the park Wes and wish you all the best on upcoming tours.
I have been man crushing on you for the last few years. Absolutely. Incredible. Never stop making music.
Massive fan from the swedish west coast 💪😈
Holy shit sounds gnarly, and killer riffage! Keep it up Wes!
Thank you for inviting us to your Shred Talk.
Man that bridge at about a minute 30 is just tough walk city.
Crazy that in addition to the top shelf phrasing, Wes has also got to have the cleanest right-hand technique I think I've ever seen.
Stellar playing from Mr. Hauch as always. You are a seriously underrated player, in my opinion. I love how developed your sound is, and the overall groove you make happen in so many of your songs. I try to show your videos to my friends to get the word out. Keep rippin'!
Great stuff Wes. Love what your doing with Alluvial. Just fantastic. Keep it coming man, this stuff like an antidote for me.
From 2:13 onwards it makes clear why Wes is my favorite metal guitarist
Every time I watch you're videos I can't help but laugh. You're amazing man.
It’s even better every time I here it 🤘🏽
great and creative playing
Love the sound of your pickups. I know you don’t play 8 string but it would be sick to have 8 string versions. Not sure what the market would be like for that tho 🤷♂️
Didn’t he play 8 string in black crown initiate?
@@isaiahgrandt5305 he left Black Crown Initiate like 4 years now.
@@peterbagosi3862 do you know why he left. I couldn’t find anything on it besides working on solo projects
@@isaiahgrandt5305 I dont know any information, but im so happy to be able to see them in 2016, that was an amazing show! I love Wes, and BCI as well!
Excellent work!
So clean!
Your solo from Mile Zero is debatably my favorite guitar solo of all time. Killer precision, as always. Good stuff dude!!
Why isn’t Wes more highly regarded in the guitar world?? He is literally never spoken of amongst the greats but I don’t think I’m alone in saying the man is likely among the most talented worldwide. I’m a huge guitar nerd. Not just for metal players but my preference certainly goes towards metal. I’ve also played guitar myself for over 35 years and technique wise it just doesn’t get much better than Wes. What truly separates his playing from other technique monsters however, is his absolutely jaw dropping phrasing and vibrato. To me, when Wes does a solo it’s like if AI (artificial intelligence) were to create a perfect solo. Sounds sort of ridiculous I know, but he’s got that Dimebag sauce down pat and a perfect portion of Marty Friedman bends slightly flat up to pitch. Those are BEAUTIFULLY executed. I could practice another 35 years and not have Wes’ abilities. Dude is just a generational talent in my opinion.
I don’t even know what to say anymore, one of a kind brother, killer chops
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dude, this sounds like a ton of bricks, you have such control over the instrument, you f..... rule 🤘
weseroni and cheese, always good and filling for the soul
So fucking sick! Life goals man…
Just absolutely deadly.
i remember seeing the riff at 1:26 on instagram and dyyyying to hear the rest of the song....fuck. yes.
damn its so sick i wish i could like twice
Wes, that was badass!
So clean
I'm looking forward to seeing Wes' band in Nashville this may
Damn, just love it dude.
Love the album Wes 🤘
Wes is technically phenomenal, much love to wes
Man the solo is so tight It freaks me oit
thank you sir
Such a beautiful song, the dissonance is on point. I saw yall at Summit the other day. Damn, you guys played tight AF and it sounded crisp in there too. I started that pit the second you began Sarcoma. I hope you come back to Denver after the tour \m/
So funny. I've been thinking of buying this exact combination for guitar and pickups. I NEED.
Phenomenal. 🏆🤘🏽
I have the jupiter in my schecter 7 string. I love it.
Otherworldly, your playing is fucking immaculate. Waiting for a signature guitar of yours to come out...
Wow awesome. I absolutely love that fucking guitar
Very very sick and tight.
Hey Wes, I have this exact RGD model but the trem arm has been coming loose on me and its been kinda annoying. Yours looks to have a modded trem arm of some sort? Any idea on the exact mod there? Sick playing as always btw.
It’s the light weight carbon fiber bar, I think you can order it from Ibanez but it comes on the Vai and Satch guitars. My regular arms come loose every once in a while and you just have to replace those little plastic bushings.
@@WesHauchAlluvial Ahh I see. Been thinking about replacing the arm holder with one of the floyd style screw in ones. Thought that might have been what you had here, so I was curious.
@@noahbrierley885 you uys talkin about expensive ass guitars while I still got my old RG7321 over here lol.
Pickup ordered!
Replaced the nazgul in my old KM7 with this like 18 months ago. My buddy with fishmans wanted to use it for recording instead. My favorite pick up.
Perfection
Thank you! Glad I don’t have to do the whammy pedal part to have a perfect cover hahaha
Best tone EVER ❤
DIMEBAG DARRELL / WES HAUCH
Crispy 🔥🔥
LOOOVE those tasty little scratches in the riffs. Makes it so grimey.
His entire right arm is a high precision machine.
This is fucking bad ass!! Killer tone also!
perfect man keep rock \m/
Nooice one man! I may have to dust off the 7 string soon, that first riff sounds like it would make a good alternate picking exercise for string changes 👍The quest to become as cleaner picker as you is never ending haha.
