I’m 74 gramma. I never exercise. I did your lunges by standing beside my bed for support and I was actually able to do it!! About 8 each leg but hey it’s a start. And a couple times I was glad the bed helped with my balance. Guess a doorway also could be used for support for beginners. Thanks from Houston.
Start easy and slowly increase over time. I usually overdo it in the beginning and pull something. Number one thing we don't want is an injury or set back of any kind.
You are doing amazing job, taking a good care of yourself, no laziness whatsoever! I don't understand why many people think they should stay motionless when getting older, it doesn't help no-one to have a good life in senior years especially.
I grew up in the 60’s moving with my Mom and Jack LaLanne every morning. 64 years and still moving everyday in some form, weights, yoga, cardio, walking, indoor rowing etc..
YES!! I'm 56 years old in my father was a bodybuilder and I read tons of Jack's materials when I was little and I am in amazing shape today and will continue to be an amazing shape
I had been doing the fast pushups. I saw a video from a US ex-convict, the so called "sissy" push up creates "time under tension" and effectively builds chest size much more effectively than full range where the muscle gets a rest at the top and bottom of the full range. It worked for me, best chest i've ever had in a short time compared to heavier bench press.
These oscillatory exercises are a great concept. In fact, I'm kicking myself for not having thought of them myself since I'm a martial artist and personal trainer. These exercises combine the best traits of speed training with weights and plyometrics, namely fast twitch motor unit activation and developing elasticity of ligaments and tendons. It does this with much reduced risk of blowing out a tendon or ligaments. Thank you very much.
Remember the Nautilus Weight Training Machines? They used a cam shaped similar to a Nautilus shell to unload weight at the beginning of the lift then increase it thru the range of motion to the finish. Similar principle, especially when the reps were sped up but with less risk of injury at the beginning.
I'm 67 and I still work out. This was a real eye opener. I played sports on different levels and the training was always basically the same. This training you do is the opposite of what I've done most of my life. This old dog is has learned a new trick, and I going to put it to use. You look in great shape,so as it is said, the proof is in the pudding.

I had to take a moment to hit the like button, leave this comment, and to SUBSCRIBE! I'm 54 years young, and in just the first 30 seconds of this video I'm already inspired by you. I wanna be fit like you as I get older! I wanna watch more of your videos! I wanna be like you when I grow up! Thank you. Now I'll hit the play button again. 😊
When I walk with my dogs I often stop and do what you are suggesting without realising it. At home I go up the stairs with legs under short tension, sitting in a chair I do short up and down with my arms. Never knew that it would enhance my muscularity. I'm with you, at age 78, and still have my athletic body and wanting to maintain that over the years to come. Bless you!!
This is a remarkable take on training fast-twitch muscle. As a rock climber, it's essential to be able to recruit fast-twitch muscles when throwing for a hold just to stick it, so I do a lot of bouldering and hangboard. But training my legs was always a problem. Now I have your channel to guide me. Thanks so much!
Great video! Ankle surgery ended my 20,000 mile running program nearly 20 years ago. Walking is just as good as an alternative. I have a resistance training program/cardio with walking and pre stretch. I keep some of my basketball skills alive by shooting FTs...helps agility by using leg and feet...can't run nor jump anymore and handling the ball helps keep eye hand coordination in tact...77 years old now and hey life is still good!
💯 physical therapists should incorporate this to in their rehab for injured athletes. It’s one thing to retrain slow and hard, but this gets the nerves going and subsequently the muscles, also safer too! Especially if you are in the rehab stage for strained tendons and ligaments.

Saw a video not long ago about this. Called Prison Workouts. It’s subtitle was “How prisoners get so jacked”. I agree that you don’t see or hear about these often but I feel the muscle builders do it. Even my physical therapist speaks about them. Good video, nice reminder too
Just ran across this video. My knees were very stiff and sore this morning. I tried this out, and my knee pain is gone! I can feel the blood flow in the problem areas. Fantastic stuff, definitely adding oscillatory exercises to my regimen.
I absolutely agree with it - short movents are the key!!! I was able as a untrained person, overweighted, to start from nothing in my kitchen standing 45° to the working space with pushups. 6 different styles (wide, normal, ...) and just made 10 with this motion range. I wasn't able to do all the 60, but a part. Next day i had no pain in my joints like normal, just because i made by accident the pushups with a low range of motion. Next day i was able to do 50 pushups, sweating like an animal, but no pain in my joints like normal. 3rd day i was able to do all 6 sets with different pushups, each 10. Then the 4 day i tried it like women pushups on my knees. I was able to do 20 on the ground, and 40 in the kitchen. No joint pain, no muscle pain so far, no rest day in between!!! Next day i was able to do all 60 pushups on the ground (woman-push-ups). The next day i challenged my self and tried normal pushups, with my feet on the ground, and was able to do 20 pushups. The other 40 i still made on my knees. Next day i was able to do all the 60 pushups total normal - no more knees!!! NO joint pain, no muscle pain, nothing!!! Then was Sunday, and i just walked outside slowly and trained not. Monday = yesterday I was able to do 30 Pushups with my feet on the chair!!! and the rest normal!!! It's unbelievable how fast you can increase your power with this and without destroying your bones. Sure in my 20th I was very trained and worked as a personal fitness trainer, but while doing my MBA, i changed my habits and gained fat as hell. But now i feel that my testosterone is increasing as hell. I feel that I have so much willpower to increase what I am doing like i would be in my 20th. And I am over 53 now :-) I am really surprised, what this method can do. My target is to do later 2 sets each 10 pushups = 120 at all with the feet on the chair daily, and then stay with it. I don't want to gain muscle volume as I had in my earlier days, but stay lean and fit like in the video. To gain muscle I would need 4 set each push-up, but I know this would end in a split training, and this would end too complicated. I just added some leg work as he shows here with 2 sets squads, and 1 set very deep squads, but only 10 and slow. Also, i make 1 set shoulders side, and one set back shoulders each 10 reps with dumbbells 3kg each. And biceps, 2 sets each 10 reps, but only with 12kg single dumbbell. That's all. All is done in 10-20 min daily. But alone this increasing testosterone I feel while I build up my business (I am an innovation designer) but now I start my own t-shirt business, this training helps me so much, because the willpower you need to do this training, you get also for your other targets with it for free. It's strange, but true. All the walls I was seeing, to reach my business goals, become smaller and smaller!!! Guys, try it out, it's absolute fantastic and works and gives you the self-confidence you need in your daily job. I fear no longer that i could get hurt by doing a wrong movement, or something. I really feel 10 years younger in this 1,5 week training. Sure i lost only 2-3kg body weight in this time, but it really works, and I have the first time in my life, that i can't wait till I can train! Just eat after training some proteins, stay with vegetables and fewer carbs and drink 2-3 liter fruit tee. I hope it helps others who read it. I make atm. Pictures of my self and did it when i weighed 120kg... Target is 85kg. It's a journey each has to go by them self, no other can lose fat for you, or make you fit 🙂 But i will release the pictures then on my business profile, if you are interested, leave a comment, then i will write here the link of the channel were i will release it, if I am longevity allows when i have a good progress and will also show exactly how i did it. Big thanks to "i am longevity", because here i really got motivated, but it tooked me 4 weeks till i was starting by my self with training 🙂
I was NASM certified trainer years ago and I can't believe this is the first time I've learned this even as I watch many videos. This inspires many trainees as it almost seems like a cheat day in the gym but very important. Thank you.
Running covers a lot of these and also gets your cardio health. Brilliant stuff. When I lift I go fast up slow down. Gets the fast twitch on the up and everything on the way down.
Can’t argue with those results. You look fantastic and move better than many 20-40 year olds. I’m about to turn 43 and will definitely implement this into my exercise plan. Thanks for sharing, sir. Well done! Keep it up!
Maintaining tension is the way to go! Seems like we are going to come all the way back around to the ways of the old school "muscle control" body builders, many of whom used only very light weights or even no weights at all.
When i used to kick box , i did odd exercises , people laghed at me due to them not understanding why and what the excersice wass accually doing , they helped me alot more than most folks knew , my coaches understood but other fighters didnt get it , at first ... its amazing to see an older gentleman with so much energy and agility ! Good for you bud , thank you for sharing this . Great advice !!
I am a Tree climber , using spurs under my feet for hours ! Climb on rope and handle saws one handed ! I have no pains , my body is strong from the work ! I ran track in school, played soccer , basketball, started martial arts at 4 yrs old ! Fast movements keep you young ! I like to twitch my hands from open to close ! Punching in the air , short burst and long! Look for speed ! Then learn to slow down at any moment! I like to take my fist close to objects , sometimes fast without touching, just feel the energy and control with your brain! Anything that is movement, that you enjoy is key ! If you move slow always you will grow old ! Fast falling using gravity then catch and go ! Stand on one leg , learning to engage each muscle and different angles ! Like loading the foot every angle you can think of ! Heel , toe , outer , inner foot! Turning the legs and arms both inwards and outwards fast and slow and stable! Everything you say is true ! Exercise with proper amount you need is key 😊
Thanks for this! I'm 60 and this totally explains why I'm so sore after downhill mtn biking or snow skiing even though I feel like I'm in 'shape', (no jokes here about the falls!). I describe these gravity sports to non participants as doing 10,000 micro squats or pushups. Exactly the oscillic compressions you're describing.
Hey Big Ups…Thank you for what I needed! For the confirmation heard previously but not explained clearly “Why” which I see now is so vital as we age. I’m currently 59 yrs young, dealing with joint arthritis/pain which has dedicated my level of fitness, although I look good currently, the ignoring of overall joint maintenance and sustained importance from constant taxiing have not been preached nearly enough to those that don’t fit into 20’s, 30’s or 40’s box. So, thank you once again for speaking to all of those like me personally with your informative video and demonstration.
Thanks for this video. I am going to implement this into my workouts. I can’t comment without saying eternity is right around the corner. Better to accept God’s judgment now than forced to face it when we leave this world. Thanks again.
Great video! I’m gonna use some of the leg moves. Also, I use the 2” battle ropes to keep that upper body fast twitch from slowing. That workout is all speed. I like your take on the 2 to 4” movement. It lets you take an injured joint and train in the non pain range along with pumping blood into it. Brilliant content bro!

This is great Tony. The Iron Guru ( Vince Gironda ) used to advocate thigh pulses after sets of body weight sissy squats. Going to incorporate pulses into my training regime. Thanks again and keep up with your tremendous channel... Inspirational!!!
So glad I found this channel. It all obvious now and makes sense. The missing link to exercise. My only question: what took so long and why hasn't anyone else caught on? Answer: sometimes the most obvious is the most overlooked!
I am amazed! As soon as you dropped that first knee, I felt my own body pop all over. Any other dude your age would have limped off the field after that move. This is so impressive. Your video has changed my entire outlook on fitness. Thanks for the share! Keep Gettin' It !!!
First one of your videos I've seen and Subscribed. Going to give this a go once a week and look forward to seeing what else you have. I'm all about the longevity nowadays. Thanks!
I see your point. You want to do movements where you muscles are in constant tension! Makes perfect sense!! I think it’s a great way to build muscle or make strong muscles and support the bones! I’m gonna do these.
These exercises make sense especially the ones for the knees. Im impressed that he is so fit. This guy is really buff and physically balanced. He's an inspiration for me.
I just showed my 58 yeat old uncle this video. He smiled and went straight to his comfortable zone in the garage to nap half the day away like always 😴 😂.
I became a dad a little late, at 39. I want to be able to keep up with my son when I'm over 60. And also live longer to be there for him. So I subscribed.
I will do this. I am 61 and exercised all my life because of the military. I'm 2022 Icaught the corvid virus and lost a lot of muscle mass.😢 I will do this to get back in my fitness
Your channel is very good for older people, from people who just want to get fitter to help with day to day living, through to people who want to compete in masters sports competitions. I will be 60 soon. I am an OK distance runner, but currently having trouble with pain in one knee which has reduced the amount of my running. I tried out some of your routine, side to side jumping both single leg and double leg jumps, the running turns, but much slower than you can do them. I also looked for places I could jump up onto and jump off, or jump up, run along and jump off (only about the height of a park bench seat or sometimes a bit higher. My knee was OK on the first day, but doing it a second day in a row wasn't a good idea, but it was fun to try it and I got better the more I tried it. I used to do jumping up onto and off things while running regularly up to my early 50's but as I got older towards my mid to late 50's didn't feel as strong in my jumps or landings and lost confidence in my ability to do it. Your being able to run under 60 seconds for 400 meters when you aren't a 400m specialist at your age is incredible. For the last few years I have been thinking of attempting to join the 60 under 60 club (an imaginary club), by getting good enough to run under 60 seconds for 400m when I turn 60, but I don't think I can do it. If my knee allows I would like to run under 5 minutes for 1500m and under 10minutes 30 seconds for 3000m when I am 60. I am hoping your strength, power and coordination exercises will help. I will incorporate the oscillatory training you taught today into my regular training program.
I was doing this very similar except I used tension bands and I got so strong. I got kicked out of the gym for lifting 575 pounds off the floor and making too much noise. Mind you, this is when I was 58. Now I am 62 getting back into it and boy doesn't feel good love you, man.❤
GREAT STUFF!!! I know it works, because I relatively recently started doing short movements with the weights, that would fall into the category of oscillatory movements. ...Thanks to you, I now know the full principle which includes the proper speed. ...I'm 71 and have worked out all of my life. ...Thank you, Tony!!!
I am so impressed that you have the drive to keep yourself moving and strong. As I age more, these become the biggest issues and I hope to be like you soon with the information you have shared, thank you.
Very good stuff - you are excited and lovable- really great! Unfortunately I have two knee replacements and can’t do most of this as I can damage my knee replacements. All the best to you - you look great - I wish I had your energy- I am 75 y/o and love your energy!
I am 59, I do Kyokushin full Contact Karate, and you are right. We never go all the way down to avoid getting hit. This all makes sense. It's all about speed and core strength. Great video
Sound advice. I'm 62. I have always been a gym rat. As I age, my routines change to address my needs. These days I vary from High-Intensity Impact Training (HIIT) to Time Under Tension (TUT), to Isolation and free weights. What my Brother from another Mother is doing here is a hybrid of HIIT & TUT. It makes perfect sense. With any routine, you have to start somewhere and build your way up. Doing just 3-5 reps in the beginning is a great start. Much better than doing no reps at all. ;) Doing too much results in downtime to recover. Work hard, work smart, and live your best life.

@leoarantes1231 pretty sure you cannot build cartilage. Tendons, maybe, but it takes much longer than muscles
@Nate_tureboy it's a way to get more blood into the cartilage quickly. If we don't get blood and oxygen into the cartilage it erodes.

Excellent progression. You will get even better at it.
Stay disciplined and motivated. All the best to you
I’ve always been a full motion kind of person but will definitely try this. Beyond the fitness, there’s something to be said for your enthusiasm!
Thank you very much for this comment!!!!
I was NASM certified trainer years ago and I can't believe this is the first time I've learned this even as I watch many videos. This inspires many trainees as it almost seems like a cheat day in the gym but very important. Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback
This used to be very popular 25 to 30 years ago. How come it "disappeared" ?!!
Running covers a lot of these and also gets your cardio health. Brilliant stuff. When I lift I go fast up slow down. Gets the fast twitch on the up and everything on the way down.
Excellent advice! You do not need heavy weight, but you do need to do the oscillation exercises.
Exactly. Muscle Control!
Excellent point. Let them laugh and prove them wrong
Hey tree man what's up🤔 does your tree belt pull your hips inward ??? If it does ...get a new one 😳😬😁😎 hip damage is not to cool 20 yr tree dud 😳🫣😝✌️😎
Tha angles are so important, not just up and down! The body was meant for dynamic movement
I am 56 and will incorporate to my daily exercise routine, did this for 5 min and felt great really makes sense and thank you for posting 👍
And that is exactly what you're doing
Im a PT, and this is spot on! Thank you so much for sharing this and for your brilliant demonstration.
You are so welcome! And thanks a million for the feedback!
You are awesome dude. May you live to a 120 yrs, max it out bros.
That's a nice thing to say. THANK YOU KINDLY!!!
This is one of the most inspiring videos I've ever seen !
Wow!!! Thank you kindly for this feedback. You made my day
You are beyond shredded. Enjoy your training tips.
Thanks, you too!
In all my years watching CZcams I have never seen this much applied and useful tested real knowledge as your videos.
Wow, thank you! I appreciate this comment
And all these oscillation movements are great for martial artists as well!!!!’
Absolutely
61 year old new subscriber here from 🇨🇦. Great work. 👍🏻👍🏻
Welcome aboard! And thank you for SUBSCRIBING
Great information! I’m 48, I weight train and will now be adding this to my regiment. Definitely feeling the joints tighten up as I get older. Thanks
Excellent
Great video! I’m gonna use some of the leg moves. Also, I use the 2” battle ropes to keep that upper body fast twitch from slowing. That workout is all speed. I like your take on the 2 to 4” movement. It lets you take an injured joint and train in the non pain range along with pumping blood into it. Brilliant content bro!
This guy is very interesting. As a 42 year old who is looking to preserve his fast twitch muscle I will definitely take your advice.
Thank you. I appreciate your support and feedback
These explain the huge benefits I am getting from using my Cellerciser trampoline. Brilliant stuff. New subscriber. Cheers!
Welcome aboard!
This is called wisdom for all you Young Bucks out there
😉 thank you for this feedback
I'm 77 years young, swim a mile every morning, plan on introducing oscillatory training route in my workout plan.
Excellent. I hope the exercises help you. That swimming is a great workout 👍🙏
Omgosh! So impressed by your physical fitness, especially the pull ups! ❤
Thank you
Yes, I have seen those called pulses or pulsing. I love em, but I usually do 50-100 reps depending on the pulse.
Worked at time share a couple times each year during summer there was a man who ran sideways and off camber seemed to be enjoying himself real smooth transition between menuvers must have been 65 10 years ago Thank You for helping
Thumbs up for you Sir. Inspiring me to work out until end of my time.
I have weak tendons and arthritis in my knees. I exercise a lot but it hurts. You showed me a new way to exercise, I must try these! Thank you
This is great Tony. The Iron Guru ( Vince Gironda ) used to advocate thigh pulses after sets of body weight sissy squats. Going to incorporate pulses into my training regime. Thanks again and keep up with your tremendous channel... Inspirational!!!
Thank you. I didn't know Vince Gironda did them. Wow
Sir…. So much respect. I am sending you immense levels of respect. Mind blown.
Wow, thank you. I appreciate you
That’s a wonderful way to train and it’s outdoors! And it by allows to keep your fast twitch muscles. Thank you!
You're so welcome!
So glad I found this channel. It all obvious now and makes sense. The missing link to exercise. My only question: what took so long and why hasn't anyone else caught on? Answer: sometimes the most obvious is the most overlooked!
I don't know how I caught your channel but what a blessing I did. Thank you Sir. Subbed and I enjoy your content.
Welcome aboard! And thank you
I am amazed! As soon as you dropped that first knee, I felt my own body pop all over. Any other dude your age would have limped off the field after that move. This is so impressive. Your video has changed my entire outlook on fitness. Thanks for the share!
Keep Gettin' It !!!
Glad my video helped you in some way. Thank you for the feedback
First one of your videos I've seen and Subscribed. Going to give this a go once a week and look forward to seeing what else you have. I'm all about the longevity nowadays. Thanks!
Thank you for the subscription. Much appreciated
I see your point. You want to do movements where you muscles are in constant tension! Makes perfect sense!! I think it’s a great way to build muscle or make strong muscles and support the bones! I’m gonna do these.
Absolutely!!
starts @ 2:50
Thank you!
Man you’re the deal man. You are the real thing. You walk the walk. Very inspiring. Best wishes from Singapore

Yep 29 max.
I became a dad a little late, at 39. I want to be able to keep up with my son when I'm over 60. And also live longer to be there for him. So I subscribed.
Welcome to my channel and thank you kindly for subbing.
5:16 messing about in the pre-game lobby.
Literally my thought process
I will do this. I am 61 and exercised all my life because of the military. I'm 2022 Icaught the corvid virus and lost a lot of muscle mass.😢 I will do this to get back in my fitness
I give all the glory to Jesus Christ for my physical fitness.
Excellent:
Give The Glory to the one who created and send us Jesus with is message : God The One the Unique
So you did nothing, Jesus did it for you?
This guys enthusiasm is off the hook... thank you sir you might have just helped heal my hip problems.
No, THANK YOU!!!
⁷⁷⁷
I was doing this very similar except I used tension bands and I got so strong. I got kicked out of the gym for lifting 575 pounds off the floor and making too much noise. Mind you, this is when I was 58. Now I am 62 getting back into it and boy doesn't feel good love you, man.❤
Nice work!
GREAT STUFF!!! I know it works, because I relatively recently started doing short movements with the weights, that would fall into the category of
oscillatory movements. ...Thanks to you, I now know the full principle which includes the proper speed. ...I'm 71 and have worked out all of my life. ...Thank you, Tony!!!
You're very welcome. And thank you for sharing
Natural movement, natural range training. Love it.❤
Thank you
Thanks for not charging us to learn this. God bless you.
My pleasure
Love this video! This type of training was a big part of how my father and I got stronger in our sport of Tai Chi Push Hands. Thank you. 🙏 ☯️
Thanks for sharing!
I am so impressed that you have the drive to keep yourself moving and strong. As I age more, these become the biggest issues and I hope to be like you soon with the information you have shared, thank you.
Sir, that is the harder part. The discipline and perseverance
I love it when someone instantly changes my mind with a new logical truth. Thank you, Mr. Ruggia!
Wpw. Now, thatv is a nice thing to say
O n e thing to consider is get your chin up upper back core engaged - u the man!!
Great video
Well said! Thank you
First time I’ve seen this…makes sense when you think about it!
I did some kinds of these excersizes without knowing they had a name - thanks for explanations, will try all variations.
Sir, your positive, energetic and sympathetic presentation is a motivation in itself. Thank you and greetings from Korea.
Thank you very much for these words
