The 2.0L in the Sport is 158HP, not 198HP.
Yea i realized as i was editing it 🤦
oops
I wish it was 😂
In Canada the 23 civic sport does come with 180hp engine
Fine! 158 hp!
Great review bro. I just picked up a 23 Civic Hatch Sport in Boost Blue. Love it!
Appreciate it! I’m sure you’ll love it!
Sport has to be hands down the best looking trim in my opinion. Have had my '24 sport (cdn spec) in aegean blue metallic since Sept, and I am absolutely loving it. Coming from a '19 lx sedan that i had for 5yrs, this gen is definitely a step above.
100%! It’s honestly shocking this look is a Honda product
Definitely gives off those euro luxury vibes. Like an audi a3/a4
sick ride
Nice video ... beautiful car!
Thank you so much!
I have a 24 civic SI, the sport is cool just the lack of HP (on all the civics if I'm being honest) is a bit of a downer
This color of the civic sport is fire
Honda could’ve put a dome light above the rear door grab handles and usb outlets behind the center console for rear passengers
This is true, but it’s Honda they won’t do something like that lol
So weird how the civic sport in canada has moon roof and turning lights on the mirrors, the American version is below the ex I find this weird in canada the sport is a step above the ex
You're lucky in the States to be able to pick the petrol variants !
Drove the new EX-L its better, but i can afford the sport trim which is alright.
I got 2024 2.0L sport
Just got a new job with a pay raise and im considering this car for my daily driver. Is it a good idea? I wish i was more of a car guy but i have no idea how to even start to learn. I need something reliable that doesnt look like crap. Id love to have a bmw but i dont want to pay that much to service my car. That just seems like a horrible financial mistake.
Def a great option for a reliable daily!
@@brotherswanhow I start learning about cars
Not alot of aftermarket support for this particular engine only get this car for economy. i wouldnt recommended Forced induction based on my research there just isn’t enough products on the market to make it happen its a bummer 😢
To my understanding since it is an older motor being used it should just bolt right up. As for intercooler pipe routing that’s where i can see it becoming tricky
Dude you can even fit a aftermarket turbo on a honda fit. Of course you can fit it to this engine as well
Its not about fitment necessarily, reading through blogs i found out that the engine will not support forced induction without failing within 10k-20k Ofcourse you can build your motor but you would then have to upgrade fuel pump ,lines, transmission from what i understand its a waste of money really u can get more for less and more reliable with a different platform/chasis.
@@tidaltidaltidal i love mine though lol its a love hate relationship 😅
Is new 2023 Honda Civic sedan Touring (with 1.5T engine) a good car to buy? How long can it last?
Great car to buy! These can easily be 250k+ mile cars as long as they’re taken care of!
What is the whole controversy surrounding the (1.5T) engine all about then?@@brotherswan
@trackmastersdj I’m gonna assume it’s bc of the smaller motor honestly but I’m not 100% sure
OK. Thanks.@SmartPracticeSuccess
I really like the Sport in sedan and the hatch option. I like the SI even more!! Except that it doesn’t offer a no sunroof option for the SI . Tall guy problems... Then there are the Type R’s and Type S’s 🤤 They fix the tall guy problems but at a hefty cost 😂🎉😢
Type s?
Acura Integra Type S
Subbed
Appreciate you! ❤️
New civics fire
They really do look great!
dont the civic sports have the 2.0t same engine as the type r? which is honestly just crazy plus the 2018 accord has the 2.0t with a 10 speed
How would the Accord EX matchup with the Civic sport?
The accord is a bit bigger with a much stronger motor. If you’re looking for a bit of speed and interior room, you’ll enjoy the accord more than the civic
@@brotherswan Thats true! I’m torn between the choices these models have to offer. I like both the designs. Accord does add a little more of a road presence than the civic, no offense, I love the civic too. Initially I was going for the civic sport but after driving the Accord, I’m stuck between these choices.
Both slow and run on a cvt transmission
Onkar if I were you, I would buy a new 2024 Accord and avoid the Civic. Accord looks better, more power, more room etc. Also, Honda dealership will give a discount on the Accord but not the Civic. So you can ask for 3k off a Accord but not a Civic.
@@braetonwilson4296 that is actually true and makes sense. The Accord has started to grow on me and I would pick that one if I get a good deal as you mentioned.
It has 158 hp. Only VTEC on intake. The Turbo 1.5 CVT has 180 hp and 177 ft lbs torque.
Yes but turbos degrade engine life and are costly to replace. There are many cons to owning a turbocharged engine, however, if you can combat the cons to it, it should be fine till around 80k and then you'll see turbo problems.
@@bogart9010 If proper maintenance is done like oil changes every 5k miles, there should be no issues if used as designed. When boost is increased and engine is pushed, then issues may occur. Most engines when pushed beyond their design intentions may have issues. After driving both the 2.0 and the 1.5 Turbo, there is no comparison. The 1.5 Turbo pulls much harder down low and is a better match to the CVT as boost does not drop when accelerating. With the 2.0, most have their foot in it to get it to go.
@@joflewbyu2377Most people who buy these don’t buy them for speed they buy them for their reliability and longevity. In that case you get the 2.0. If your the kind of person to rice out your car and drive fast all over the place you buy the 1.5t. I bought a sport hatch with the 2.0 and a manual. It’s my everyday vehicle and I love it, yes it’s not quick but it’s still a manual and it’s definitely fun to go all out in it.
Is it worth buying?
Depends on how you’re going to use it. If it’s just a daily to drive around then definitely. But if you’re looking for something to have fun with, there are better options for the price tag
Not 198 I wish it was
I in fact fit 2 bodies in the trunk
😂😂
Do not put a k&n filter on this car… fr!!! Clean Sport man. 🦃
Why not?
Cns so sensitive to sudden death pug
Yeap I wasn’t just going to say….
158 HP...way tooo slow for 2024 standards. Way too slow. Otherwise amazing car.
23k max not a penny more
I agree
I went from a 2001 mustang to this and the steering sensitivity blew me away the first time I drove it. I think an infant could turn the wheel.
I SAID THE SAME EXACT THING! And it locks quick too which threw me off
@@brotherswanis that a good thing or a bad thing?
It’s not a bad thing but it definitely doesn’t help the car handle a lot better than previous gen’s
This honda naturally aspirated engine built to lasts for a lifetime.but if you are looking a faster car better buy supercar, hypercar basically race car.
This is very true!
This civic loos nice but honestly the new look look is ugly. Especially on the accord
this guy is nuts - twice he says the the non turbo engine has 198 horse power - what is he SMOKING??? Or just ignorant & toasted?
He already addressed his mistake, it’s not that serious
