Great long term review series. I wish you keep making these! I hope that you can also do a camping/ cargo space practicality vid that shows how capable it can be when fully loaded. I’m subbed for life
Will continue to make videos for sure but I don’t do much camping myself, for two people it would be great but a family of 4 in here would run out of room pretty quick
Thanks for videos on the best trim level on the Civic Hatchback that nobody talks about except your channel &shooting cars .I just got my Civic Sport Hatchback 6M back in January its best car on the market!!!!
All your videos helped me make my decision! Picked up my 24 Civic Hatchback 2.0 Manual last week and I love this car! It's so much fun at reasonable speeds, you can have a blast without getting pulled over 😅
I did my first oil change in this car recently and I appreciate how easy it was to gain access to the oil pan. The oil filter is also easily replaceable and not the annoying kind with the re-useable plastic housing.
Just curious as to how many miles did you car have when you did your first oil change? I heard from a few reputable mechanics that a 1K miles first oil change is suggested to get all the initial engine break in tiny metal specs out of the oil and filter.
I have this exact car on reserve at the dealership I work at. I plan on leasing it and can’t wait to get my hands on it. You’re videos have been my source of in depth descriptions of this car! Not many people do in depth reviews on this civic because it is a daily driver but your videos have gotten me that much more excited, thank you!
@@NAUS2KI look forward to all the videos to come of this car! Your videos are so helpful. Especially when you know how to do reviews like yourself, you go in depth to the details and I appreciate that so much!
Got a 24 Boost blue sport on order with a 6 speed (of course) and this video really helped me understand the car more. Thank you for being so informative and making great content!
Naus, interesting contribution. Though this format is not available in the UK, there's lots of relevant stuff, and the objectivity 'your' persective is helpful... thanks.
I have a 2020 Honda Civic EX, and it’s a reliable, competent car to drive. The only wish is that it pedal shifters on the steering wheel or that I got a manual, but it’s a fun and low-cost car to drive. Great review 🙏🏽
I thought I was hearing myself talk while watching this. Looking to buy a Sport Hatchback with a Manual transmission. Was looking for reviews on it to hear other peoples opinions on it, but seems like this vid was confirmation bias. As a second car to daily, it is quite nice. Plus, nice to know there is a K20 under the hood.
I bought the Sport sedan 2024. It does not have 60/40 rear seat, I wanted security of a trunk. This car is just so well built. Hondas give you the most bang for your buck , car is plain awesome!
I got one. K20C2 engine, manual transmission, oil filters for my last car (2012 civic LX sedan 1.8 liter engine) fit this engine. I drove my trade-in 700 miles to get mine and my return trip, in the 2022 hatch, was 42.5 mpg at 65 mph the whole way back. Love this car. Not so tech. heavy. Happy about the reverse camera, apple car play is great. Nothing to complain about.
I used cargurus and found 26 nationwide with the 2 liter and 6mt. The closest to me was 700 miles away. The exterior color was irrelevant to me, but it is also Sonic Grey pearl. I am thoroughly happy with my purchase. One last point: I would like to consider this more of a 'liftback' over a hatchback. Just my point of view. Thanks for sharing this video, Naus. @@NAUS2K
Love the video! I was hoping for a lower rpm at highway speeds, but considering I had a 2nd gen CR-V that would be at 3k in 5th going 60mph, this is progress. I love my 1st gen Insight that sits around the same in 5th as your Civic does in 6th, but I always have to shift on hills considering the engine is half the size.
I've got the same car and agree with your overall take. What I don't care for are the electronic brake engagement system (would much rather the manual hand cable engagement system), the on/off switch for idling, and no temp gauge. There are times when I start the car and I notice a jerk of the steering wheel (maybe the electronic steering system initializing) which can be startling. It doesn't always happen but occasionally. I'm just a guy who likes to keep it simple unless the upgrade is better. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. Btw, love your videos and happy motoring my friend.
@@NAUS2K have you noticed a constant jerk in first and second gear every time you take your foot off the gas? Let’s say I’m going half throttle 20 mph in 2nd gear and I let off the gas. Every time i do this I get a big jerk in the car, its the same feeling as letting the clutch too early just in this case the clutch has nothing to do with it. There should be a little jerk when you decelerate (like in every car) but in this car it’s just way too much mainly in first gear
Working at the dealership, I have seen quite a few 22-23 civics come in for a steering concern in which it feels like there is a bubble in the steering wheel when driving straight and it can not be centered properly. The best way I can describe it is if you try to center the steering wheel it feels like when two similar magnets repel each other. They have recently put out an EPS inspection recall (electric power steering) on these civics and it may be worth looking into, if this issue you are describing occurs when the steering is centered.
Yes they are nice however not great placement. With how sensitive the brakes are it’s kind of impossible for me to heel toe downshift during normal driving
Got mine in Red with manual. Great drive, I had a Corolla Hatch Manual, and this drives a lot better. No temperature gauge but only a light indicator that tells me when engine is cool that goes away after 2-3 minutes of driving. Not sure if it will change to red to signify hot temperature. Also I have to always press the Home button after I start the car to dismiss the seat belt status.
Thanks for the thorough review. I'm looking to dump a bunch of miles, not 0-60 times. I know that I'll enjoy the manual and your input on the stereo, display etc. make sense. I was wondering what 6'-3" looks like with legroom, but it's all god.
I’m 6’3” and the leg room up front is insane , I have my seat 2-3 clicks forward from max back position, which is something I never did in any civic I had in the past
The K20C2 is a very nostalgic engine for me now, because my first-ever manual car and first-ever brand-new car was a 2019 Civic Sport sedan, 6MT. I absolutely loathed it when I owned it, because I downgraded from an Acura to the Civic (I was broke and staying humble & focused at the time) but now-a-days I kinda miss it.
im 6'4" and i fit in the sport touring despite the sunroof. definitely had to adjust the seat to get it just right but my daily commute is about 1hr and im comfy in it. sounds like all your complaints are upgrades in the sport touring so im surprised the sunroof was enough of an issue to deter you - the heated leather seats look and feel incredible, the bose sound is a huge upgrade, the door siding and center console are leather. i didn't think twice about the chrome siding until you mentioned it but i think it looks nice, more consistent with the rims and font color on the rear end. otherwise i agree the manual feels so nice, so easy to shift smoothly between gears whether driving fast or slow. the infotainment and dash are ergonomic. i was looking at the subaru wrx for example and to change the temp/conditions you have to go into a setting on the infotainment which is so unnecessary, love having basic knobs and buttons for the things that you want immediate access to.
You pushed me over the edge to pull the trigger and I couldn’t be happier : ‘23 sport 6spd lunar metallic. It has 500 miles on it. I love it. It IS a base trim but it’s so well designed and put together it doesn’t feel cheap. Driving is really fun with the manual even though it’s not fast. I also wish the e brake was manual but I can’t have everything…..also I do mainly city driving so fuel economy is: OK. I was spoiled by my old scion xA 5spd flogging on it and getting like mid 30s mpg. Can’t go home again I guess.
I'm looking for a car and just starting eyeing the honda civic hatchbacks. I originally was focused on a scion tc (last generation). What did you like about the manual scion's? Any information helps. Thanks. Also, I think the tC interior is lacking, in general.
@michaelsigman8942 No, I have little experience with a manual, but I'm determined to get one. I really like hatchback coupes. I have been set on a Scion tC, but it's been difficult searching for the 3rd/last generation. I can always get one delivered, without ever seeing it. I am also willing to buy my own car seat covers to make the interior nicer. I am open to other cars, even 4-door. I am also trying to avoid American cars. The Hyundai Veloster looks ok. For a used car, I want low miles, clean title, aesthetically looking good, and a manual. Do you have other suggestions for a commuter car, whether hatchback or not? Any advice or information helps. Thank you! --Most people online love their Scions. They seem safe, reliable, and easy to maintain.
I also like the Subaru Wrx, but that's considered a sports car sedan, made for more speed, whereas I just want a smooth ride (and keep my insurance within a practical range).
I’ve got “nice car” comments from people too! Each time I turn around and am little baffled because never in my life would I have thought people would be saying that about a base model civic but Honda killed it with the looks!
Excellent review. We think alike. I don't want different drive modes and all the rest. There's too much that can go wrong. High repair bills. Even if I decide to trade a car in at 60k miles, I want the option to know that I can keep it for 250k+ miles in case I need to. If you take care of it, you'll get over 250k miles I think and that's a nice feeling to have because we never know when we might hit rough patch in life.
My brother got his subaru totalled, not at fault, and I'm trying tog et him to buy this model but 2024. Perfect car with crazy good reliability and easy maintenance.
Thanks for another outstanding video! I see they did not drop the manual trans, 2.0 engine, color and HPD package on the 2024 models, so this is really becoming the front runner choice for me. That console lid cutout kills me though. I can possibly see that being a problem, because I like to rest my elbow and let my wrist flick through the gears. I have yet to go sit in one, so maybe it's not as bad as it looks.
May seem odd, but for long drives, I take a small pillow under my left elbow/forearm and rest my steering arm on it to keep my hand level with the bottom of the steering wheel. Helps with fatigue.
I've heard this issue with the cut out on the arm rest of the manual transmission trims being a problem. Makes me wonder if you could order a replacement center console storage compartment lid for the automatic civic, that doesn't have the cut out, and just swap out the cut out one for the other? You'd lose access to the second cup holder but if they were hinged the same way it might work.
Just picked up the same exact car as yours today, a 2024 model, in the same color. Only 5 dealerships within several hundred miles had any in stock, and only 2 had the Sonic Gray Pearl color I wanted. I ended up driving 2 hours down to the Jersey Shore to get mine. Luckily, I was able to get it for $1K below MSRP. Most Honda dealers around me are still charging $1K and up on markups. I love Honda, but hate the dealership network. Anyhow, I absolutely love the car. It is loads of fun to drive and wind out the engine, the clutch is nice and smooth, and the shifter feels solid and tactile. I honestly don't think I'm going to miss my WRX. For a daily driver, this Civic ticks all the right boxes, and you can't beat the expected reliability and gas mileage.
@@NAUS2K Thanks man! Your content has really been insightful and honest, and I look forward to more of it. Hoping I don't have one of the cars with the leaky hatch, but I will find out possibly tomorrow since it has been raining on and off tonight. Any updates on your situation with the leaks?
Leak came back in October when the temps fell, been leaking all winter here in NY, stay tuned I’ll be uploading more videos about this in the coming weeks
Great video! Been waiting patiently lol. Curious on temperature gauge blue for for cold start. But what are your thoughts on when it overheats will it be a red light that pops up on the dash.
I really like the way they did the back,, keeping it simple and sporty but the rest of the car reminds of one of those touring/crossover car.. wish they made it a little more compact
As always, a great and informative video! As far as the Euro spoiler goes, do you know if it contributes to the aerodynamics of the car, or the down force?
Didn't initially like the auto start/stop, but if you take some pressure off the brake pedal after coming to a stop, the engine does not shut off. After a while it is pretty easy to control auto start/stop with just brake pedal pressure.
They make a device that remembers your last setting on the auto start/stop. it plugs inline to the button so you can turn it off and never need do so again. it's like 30$ all over Amazon and ebay.
a younger guy I used to work with got a white one of those - really nice looking car, (honestly I like the looks of that civic hatch better than the $$$ Integra)
The way I see this car now is that this might be the most Rawest Civic a car enthusiast can get without the Type R looks and price and features, same goes for the Si. This Civic reminds me of the Honda Civics of the late 90s, maybe alost the Civic Sis of the late 2000s to 2010s. Its as basic as it can be and the owner can mod it like you they want it, just like the older Civics. I am already imagining the potential of this car, whether its for daily commute, spirited runs or racing, the basis of this model is there to be taken advantage of and make it unique. K20C2? Not a Type R engine but possibly can reach similar numbers with custom parts. Handling like a Type R? probably not but thats the fun part about us enthusiasts and trying out different suspension set ups. I have a 2021 Honda Accord 2.0T Sport and I love it but I do miss the manual transmission. IDK but this car just made me re-think my car priorities lol.
Excellent choice. The lack of a turbo means it should last quite a while with minimum repairs. The Manual transmission should also make it last and adds a touch of fun. Personally, I avoid turbos and CVTs no matter which company is making them.
I just snagged a '24 EX-L hatchback. I generally like it so far, especially the color (meteorite gray metallic). Not too many issues to complain about. I'm 6'1 and feel like I have enough room inside, even with the sunroof (which was basically a need for me lol). The only things that kind of annoy me so far is the lack of Sirius, not having a lock for the glove compartment, and getting in/out of this car is not all that easy (though I'm coming from a Wrangler, so that's to be expected and maybe I'll adjust to it). I also agree on the exterior design. I liked the 10th gen, but I think I prefer the 11th gen styling. It just has a classic, yet practical design quality to it.
Great video as always. Love the thoroughness of your videos. I did have one question. If you were not in the market for a manual and wanted a CVT would you recommend the same trim level on the hatchback?
The cvt makes this engine much more of a dog for acceleration. However I still say it would be a good buy. Not having the 1.5T already eliminates a lot of reliability issues
I just got a 2023 Civic Sport Touring and LOVE IT!! Throw it into sport mode and it's quick! Plus the 12 speaker Bose sound system sounds much better and it does thump with the built in sub. The media panel is bigger with a 9" screen and wireless CarPlay. I've only had it 2 weeks, but absolutely no regrets with the sport touring trim.
@@micheledelarosa2782 I feel that all of the reviewers who jumped on the road noise “issue” are just looking for something to complain about. It’s not an issue at all. We also have a CR-V and it feels the same as that.
I visit Montreal frequently and they love manual transmission cars. The Civic sedan is made in Ontario Canada. And Honda Canada just dropped the 2.0/LX manual hatchback for 2024. It's seems obvious that Honda should bring back the 2.0/Manual sedan for US and Canada. I see a lot of Jettas with manuals. And the Sentra S and SR are available with 6 speeds in Canada. Come on Honda!
I was looking at the 10th Gen Civic Sport Hatchback when it first came out, in Aegean Blue Metallic, but the last version, even the Sport Sedan was much improved. But when the 11th Gen Sport Sedan, and even more when the Hatchback came out, I was extremely pleased. I wanted to get one of these in Boost Blue Pearl, though I like Sonic Grey Pearl, too. But I will probably get the new HR-V Sport in Urban Grey Pearl because it suits me more, and is more practical to carry taller objects if I need it, but I still might get the Sport Hatchback. I think the Sport looks great as is, but the black optional emblems should be included for the Sport, or I would remove the rear hatch Civic and Sport emblems and replace the front, rear and steering wheel H-Mark emblems with the aftermarket JDM style ones, even in different colors than red to match, like blue or black. It's nice that they have the foglight covers, because it still looks nice. You could get aftermarket or OEM lights from the Sport Touring or I think CR-V, or even put cameras, or machine guns. :P JK. The black exterior trim and wheels look great. The top Sport trims typically have some chrome trim like the Sport Touring Hatchback. They should use the smoked chrome like the used on the previous HR-V and Accord Sport. The door window trim kit is available from 3M or one of those companies, but some tint shops and such can do that. The rear diffuser is nice for OEM for the Sport. The rear brake/signal and reverse light bulbs are incandescent, but can be replaced with LED ones from LasFit. I would get legal smoke window tint, legal here in Honolulu, HI. Underhood, I prefer the N/A 2.0L engine for reliability, dependability and longevity. I would put an aftermarket air filter element, but it seems it doesn't need a cold air intake. The car sounds nice when you are driving, going through the gears on the manual. I would get a front strut tower brace, but otherwise leave it stock, except for some dress up parts like the anodized caps and battery hold down. The interior is real nice, but the 10th Gen Sport seat design was nicer. I like how the Sport has just the right equipment for the price point with functional things like the manual adjust seats and such, and no sunroof. Less things to go wrong, and more structural integrity. I agree with you about the door and center console armrest fabric they also use for the Si. The 10th Generation Civic Sports used to have the leatherette there. Of course no rear seat center armrest and cupholders, but no biggie for me, since I usually don't often have rear seat passengers. I can keep a portable power bank and cables if they need to charge their phones. I know the CVT version has bigger cupholders and center console storage, but that's a given. I know, the old style handbrake is preferred, but it is what it is. It's good the auto start/stop light blends in. The HR-V Sport does not even have that. I also wish they kept the map storage pocket behind the left/driver's seat. A common OCD irk. The Pedal Commander may get better throttle response control, but maybe more on the CVT than the 6 Speed. The OEM stereos are generally much better sounding than systems long ago, but can be upgraded with aftermarket speakers and amps later. I would probably get a Rockford Fosgate Punch Series 4 Channel 400 watt amp and factory location speakers, and not need a subwoofer unless I really wanted that extra bass. As far as the head unit, I agree with you. With some minor dislikes, it serves the purpose. Other than that, it would be pretty nice with the preferred OEM accessories, like the weather mats and cargo tray, along with the rear seat back protectors, which is good to have, wheel locks and such. I would add a good dashcam, but that's all I can think of for now. 👍
@@NAUS2K I really like the new Subaru Impreza RS, but some people said previous models are having problems with the glitchy infotainment display. Then there is the AWD issue about having to get 4 new tires if you have a flat you can't fix and tires are older. You can resell them, but that's still an extra expense. Having metal chains instead of belts for the CVT is pretty nice, and Subarus and Mazdas are more reliable now, but you can't beat Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus. Especially, more reliable models with N/A engines like the Civic, New HR-V, Corolla and Camry. Btw-Have you seen my good friend, Jason Miller's CZcams channel, 717 Project? He has a black SE 10th Generation Type R, and his very popular Aegean Blue Metallic 11th Generation Civic Sport Sedan ha calls Blue. It is probably one of the nicest and most modified and customized Civic like that. He has gone through so many changes and DIY videos, some Sedan specific, but a lot could apply to the hatchback, too. I'm older, and was raised with GM performance cars. I had a 1984 Buick Grand National, a silver 2000 Chevy Impala LS Trunk Monkey Edition, and a 2006 Impala SS with Flowmaster Exhaust. I almost could have had a mint condition 1996 Black Impala SS with Flowmaster Exhaust or a 2000 Black Tahoe Limited, but didn't want something that big. I'm former law enforcement, and an enthusiast, but older and not so diehard now, since I have other things I am busy with. I just want a nice sporty practical daily driver, but if I had the money, time, energy, place to keep a real nice car, and would be driving it a lot, I would love to have an Apex Blue Pearl Integra Type S or A-Spec Technology Package, though I really don't like the 1.5L turbo, though I wouldn't be thrashing it on the latter, but want the ELS stereo.
was really tempted to get the same sport hatchback trim but when i compared it to the kia forte GT, the features and price that the kia offered just made more sense to go for... still a really nice looking car tho
Hi very informative video thank you. You mentioned you test drove the sport touring and SI, do you feel like this 2.0 is really lacking in power and fun? If your head fit without the sunroof would you choose either of those cars instead?
I would have considered the si and probably pulled the trigger on one of there was no sunroof and no dealer markup anywhere. For only $2500 more than this car it seems like a great value (Bose stereo, lsd, better shifter, etc). However for $5-10k more than this car (with dealer markups and BS games) the Si is a horrible choice imo when compared to this car. The sport touring had the most rev hang out of them, Si was second, this felt the best. The Si is obviously more fun, but this is fine for a daily.
A video so good I have two comments for you! I have owned a 2022 Si, and now own a 2023 Integra. I'm a fan of having bells whistles and chimes. I think you would actually hate the new Integra, because it tries to be too many things at once. It has many complex components, a nice turbo, it's long and has a sunroof and less head room. I think if I could take anything from your sport and put it in my Integra, it would be that stereo head unit. The Integra has the 9" touch screen and it has telematics. Telematics are evil. I don't want telematics. The wireless CarPlay does not stay connected, so the one "big feature" of the "better" system is flaky and does not work reliably, so I have to have my phone plugged in anyway. This also defeats the purpose of the wireless charger. That wireless charger also stops working the moment you take a corner at basically any speed, because your phone goes flying off of it anyway. A waste of space inside the car's interior. Now I can't toss my keys or anything metal there, and there are very few storage spots inside the car other than the awkwardly-placed cupholders. Still, I wouldn't want to give up the adaptive dampers and the 16 speaker audio system. It's absolutely divine hearing the very high quality music coming out of an Acura. If they offered an Integra base model with a manual, and the upgraded speakers, I would have preferred that. Still, my friends and I all love it about as much as you love your Civic Sport. Thanks again for the great detailed video.
This comment speaks volumes! Sometimes the extra high tech features are nothing more than a headache. I do envy the high end speaker and power your system has though. However the simplicity of the 7” infotainment in this car I still love a year later
Here in the UK we only get the Hatchback with the 2.0ltr e-Hev hybrid. Only two models available Sport and Advance. Sport is the same spec as yours but with a hybrid system which people have easily got 84mpg! Around town and 54 mpg combined figures even with a power output of 187bhp. I've gone with the Advance as its got the Bose system, heated steering wheel and seats, sunroof, LED headlights with main beam assist. I've opted for the same colour as you, Sonic grey pearl. Any other colour in the Advance model or anything else added to the options list puts the car into the higher road tax bracket costing an extra £395 for five years after the first year!! So I've bought mine just under the £40,000 tax bracket. £180 per year road tax- a lot better. I'm paying separately for the rear ducktail rear spoiler in black £515 extra and the rubber floor mats £125 like yours too. I can see you've had a Fenylab ceramic coating on your's 👍 I'm thinking about PPF on the front and either a Carpro, Gyeon, Gtechiq or Diamond nano coating with a Bilt Hamber underseal wax called Dynax UC. Delivery date is for Valentines day 🎉. I cannot wait. I was thinking about a Type R but I already have a Toyota GR Yaris which is the same as the GR Corolla but smaller and lighter. Thats the weekend toy as its 280bhp in 1200kg car thats got 4wd. Anyway, I love the video diving into all the things you notice after 3 months of ownership 👍
@NAUS2K It's nice to drive, albeit you notice the extra weight. Your car will be much more nibble and lighter on its feet per say. I like a manual transmission- a pre requisite of being British haha. The hybrid transmission is just an electric motor- no gearbox! No CVT. Unique how it works. It's just a lazy 'Auto' which will be comfortable to drive. Which is It's purpose. Are you enjoying your car though?
@raymondreiff8170 you'll be pleased, it doesn't have a CVT transmission though- thank god as they are crap. It's just a motor/ generator powered by the 2.0ltr petrol engine.
There is some, but it’s much less than my older 8thgen civic LX-S so I am pleased with it. The sport touring model comes with more sound deadening than the sport
What are your thoughts on the spoiler? Would you have done anything different installation wise? Does it seem solid? I have the same car but it's a CVT and thinking about getting the ducktail spoiler.
Nick, thank you for sharing your experience with your Civic Sport Hatchback! You may have mentioned this, but are Civics built in the US, Canada or Japan?
This civic is built in Ohio, transmission in India. The type R is the only civic made exclusively in japan and it’s obvious that anything coming out of japan has a much higher level of quality.
@@mikecrisafulli8970 I’m actually asking because some dealers have the sport Touring trim listed as having a remote start, but not just a sport trim by itself. Now I can’t tell you that you can have a remote start on a manual transmission vehicle. I was just curious if they offered it on the base trim or if you had to upgrade to a higher trim.
Thank you very much for the excellent video. Your knowledge about this car is amazing. Are you concerned about the turbo being a complication that could increase future maintenance costs and decrease overall lifespan? This is my biggest concern with this vehicle. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you again! 👍🙏 Also, did you buy an extended warranty?
Huge car guy here- I'm 26 and trying to save as much as I can. I have had it all, A90's, FL5', DL5, Si's, 1.5T's- currently drive a 93 300E Benz with 106k on it- I live in Wisconsin. My 300E is perfectly fine, I do have a random fear of it breaking. I tried to get another FL5 but the lowest I could find is 4k markup (which isn't terrible, but a markup non the less). I found your exact car a 2024 available near me, and looks like the only manual in the state new. I don't want to get into the payment life again, but it does get double the gas mileage of my 300E, and wont cost anything in maintenance. It looks like these Civic Sports hold there value extremely well (1-3 year old models selling for roughly MSRP retail). It's really intriguing especially because you said the rev hang is better on the 2.0, which was my BIGGEST complaint with my Si. Am I overthinking this? I want to go test drive it tomorrow, 5.9% for 72 isn't half bad in this market either.
I would go for the 4 years at 3.9 if you can swing it. I even don’t like paying 3.9 for mine but it is what it is. I still love my 2.0 after 6 months now. Awesome daily, and may be the most reliable car on the market right now
@@NAUS2K Dealership offered 3k over sticker. I I wanted to go pick up the same car you have tonight- this Type R is tempting. I’ll always be in equity. I’ll own it for 51k which is what they go for used…. Civic sport is 29k after taxes etc- but lower payment? Gaaaah! Thank you brother
@@NAUS2K I’m going with what you got! I did the math, I’ll actually save 10k in cash over 4 years between this and the Type R. Dang I thought it was 4.9, but yeah it’s 3.9 for 4 years, definitely
You’ll save a whole lot more than 10k if buying the sport vs the type R. Regular fuel, 10+ mpg better, cheaper car payment, and significantly cheaper insurance .
@@NAUS2K yes sir!!! Just got back home with it… WOW does it drive nice. The shifter is way better than my 19 Si ever was. I actually speed in it more than any other car for some reason. I unfortunately had a “okay” experience, I had to go to milwakuee.. they have markups of 5k on every car. I said MSRP, and apparently they texted me $500 over sticker? Anyways my dad dropped me off and headed a home which is a hour away. After an hour+ being there I bought it for $500 over… it was the only one in the state, and Illinois had a 23, which I have a 24. Not the end of the world, but whatever >.> Great car! 👍 thank you for your input, definitely helped
I've got the same car but in Boost Blue Pearl. I'm thinking about getting the same ducktail spoiler you have. Would you recommend getting it in Berlina Black?
Naus, in one of your Civic Sport videos you mentioned that you were going to check to see if the part numbers for stiffer rear suspension from another model (maybe the R?) matched in order to upgrade. What was the outcome of that, and if it is doable can you provide any specific details? Thanks for your videos!
I probably am going with the multi point version MT they say it is a 30 year 300,000 mile car. A pure commuter car for me. I will miss no fog lights and no power seats. But the time has arrived for me to make a move on this before they eliminate the 158 hp sport trim version. I am going with the HPD package with black badging as it will ensure it is my unique build.
Hpd stuff is good quality but honestly I’d recommend the yofer kit pieces. Much better looking and you’ll really stand out. I went yofer front lip and skirts, then an ACR rear diffuser. Plus with the HPD stuff your drilling holes into you bumpers. Just saying!
@@juelz4516 Thanks for the input, they do offer the rear spoiler as a separate option without the HPD which is still very doable. Makes the rear look better. Still this car really has a lot of plusses. Still waiting on the new Camry design but I think this Civic is offers an more than great commuter and hauling supplies for my job. I would say Honda will eliminate a Civic option very soon, this sports hatch with 158hp is probably top of the list.
Unfortunately in Canada, only Sport Touring Hatch for 24 models comes with a Manual but a 1.5 L turbo engine which I don't like . For 23 models only the base trim hatch comes with a manual 2.0L
Nice, how much HP is in that 2.0? I sold my 2021 Forte 6 speed manual and it was 147, i traded it for a 2023 Tuscon SEL and now i have a 2023 RAM Warlock which i intend keeping but i am looking for something like that.
Sorry about all these questions as I'm seriously considering the same exact car. Seeing the plastic valve cover saddens me. Would a metal valve cover from a 2002-2006 RSX fit on that engine being its a K20 motor as well?
Watching is like hearing about a buddy with a girlfriend when you didn’t have one
Same for me😭
im watching and i have the "better" version but I still would recommend this spec to other people @@FrozenThrone7998

What does this comment mean?
Just bought one of these today. I greatly appreciate your intelligent commentary on the civic. Much obliged.
Thanks for the support man it’s truly a hidden gem these days. Stay tuned for more videos!
Great post- very thorough. Totally agree with your reasoning for selecting the sport trim: manual transmission and NO sunroof!
I just bought this exact model and I am ecstatic!! I am coming from a 08 convertible mustang and literally cannot wait to upgrade.
You are REALLY good at this.
Thanks for this! I’m getting ready to get a 2024 and this review was very informative and was exactly what I was looking for.
All your videos helped me make my decision! Picked up my 24 Civic Hatchback 2.0 Manual last week and I love this car! It's so much fun at reasonable speeds, you can have a blast without getting pulled over 😅
Enjoy your car my friend!!! Smart choice!
Can't wait to buy one next year. Just graduated nursing school. It'll be a wonderful commuter car.
I did my first oil change in this car recently and I appreciate how easy it was to gain access to the oil pan. The oil filter is also easily replaceable and not the annoying kind with the re-useable plastic housing.
This is why I want this car
Just curious as to how many miles did you car have when you did your first oil change? I heard from a few reputable mechanics that a 1K miles first oil change is suggested to get all the initial engine break in tiny metal specs out of the oil and filter.
@@abraham3981I did mine when my said 20% oil life left I think it was around 6,000 miles or something when I did my first one
Awesome to hear your feedback man, thank you!

This is such an awesome daily for enthusiasts. Love the color too.
I’ve really enjoyed watching your take on the civic! I’m looking at a Blue 2024 manual, might test drive it tomorrow.
Got a 24 Boost blue sport on order with a 6 speed (of course) and this video really helped me understand the car more. Thank you for being so informative and making great content!

Great videos
I have a 2020 Honda Civic EX, and it’s a reliable, competent car to drive. The only wish is that it pedal shifters on the steering wheel or that I got a manual, but it’s a fun and low-cost car to drive. Great review 🙏🏽
I have 2018 and loving it especially the blind spot camera.
Love your content- I bought a Civic Sport Manual yesterday! Thx
Enjoy it !!! Thank you!
They look so good in person
Great review.
I just got mine,,,love it❤❤👏👏
I love the 90's SAAB 9-3 vibe on this car.
The "Black Level" adjustment is especially useful to know.
That's a very nice color too. The black goes well with it the way it would go with silver or a tan color.
I bought the Sport sedan 2024. It does not have 60/40 rear seat, I wanted security of a trunk. This car is just so well built. Hondas give you the most bang for your buck , car is plain awesome!
Gotta say that I love how the car looks at night too. The taillights is what looks amazing in the dark
Agree 100%. Taillights are beautiful
bro 2022 owner nice ride! totally jelly! treat her well!
Nice review 👍🏻
Congrats man! I love the minimal tech, non laggy screen, and simplicity behind this car for something this modern
@@NAUS2K
Finally found someone with a manual sport civic and same color as mine
I love the hatchback ❤ I got me the sport touring one. I also love that black rims. Good job Honda😊
Dude congratulations on your civic its good choice i wish i would have selected a hatch back civic too
Love the video!
Thanks for your comment and stay tuned for my dislikes video! Many things you mentioned are in it
@@NAUS2K have you noticed a constant jerk in first and second gear every time you take your foot off the gas? Let’s say I’m going half throttle 20 mph in 2nd gear and I let off the gas. Every time i do this I get a big jerk in the car, its the same feeling as letting the clutch too early just in this case the clutch has nothing to do with it. There should be a little jerk when you decelerate (like in every car) but in this car it’s just way too much mainly in first gear
@@jayt9274have a friend drive it to get their opinion. Also you might go and drive one or two at a dealer to compare.
Steering jerk at start is just the mechanism to unlock the steering lock doing its thing. Not an issue at all.
I’m not a car guy at all. Just got the ‘24 6MT for $28k otd. Watching your videos makes me feel like I got a steal. Thanks for the knowledge.
You are welcome my friend! Enjoy your new car!
I have a 2024 civic sport. Liking it so far.
The pedals look and feel nice, from seeing your video.
The old saying is true for me and my ‘22 sport sonic grey 6spd: It’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
I'm looking for a car and just starting eyeing the honda civic hatchbacks. I originally was focused on a scion tc (last generation). What did you like about the manual scion's? Any information helps. Thanks.
Also, I think the tC interior is lacking, in general.
@@saraseveryn8650my xA was fun and reliable and super practical for the city. Have you owned a manual?
I also like the Subaru Wrx, but that's considered a sports car sedan, made for more speed, whereas I just want a smooth ride (and keep my insurance within a practical range).
i have a blue sport, extremely happy with it. people always complement me on the car
Exactly my friend ! Thanks for the comment
2021 Ex HB gang!!! Love my whip, especially in and out of traffic and great on gas! Til I get my Porsche or type r, this is my Daily Driver!!

Red is sick!!!
The console cutout is bad. Very bad. One of my main dislikes. Stay tuned for my next upload !
Yep. My elbow has about one little square inch of real estate and that’s it. Crappy for a manual.
Love that spoiler!
Congrats on the purchase man!!!
@@NAUS2K Thanks man! Your content has really been insightful and honest, and I look forward to more of it. Hoping I don't have one of the cars with the leaky hatch, but I will find out possibly tomorrow since it has been raining on and off tonight. Any updates on your situation with the leaks?

Great video! Been waiting patiently lol. Curious on temperature gauge blue for for cold start. But what are your thoughts on when it overheats will it be a red light that pops up on the dash.
Definitely one of my dislikes. I don’t know if a red icon will appear, but I assume that is the case. I hope to not find out!
That’s doubtful , it’s just for looks really
Didn't initially like the auto start/stop, but if you take some pressure off the brake pedal after coming to a stop, the engine does not shut off. After a while it is pretty easy to control auto start/stop with just brake pedal pressure.
That shits garbage any way you look at it. Don’t try to justify a terrible thing.
The wheel in the cabin alone is worth the extra money. I think it comes out to 25-35 dollars a month to up grade. Literally night & day.
I bought one yesterday 6 speed 😊
Awesome man congrats!!!
They make a device that remembers your last setting on the auto start/stop. it plugs inline to the button so you can turn it off and never need do so again. it's like 30$ all over Amazon and ebay.
Just bought mine today $410 a month had fair credit but couldn’t be happier! Going to upgrade a lot on it

@@NAUS2K : I’m loving it ! Never thought a Honda could so good !
how I miss my 2015 accord sport :c never had a issue! also where do you prefer your start button in the key area or in the middle console?
a younger guy I used to work with got a white one of those - really nice looking car, (honestly I like the looks of that civic hatch better than the $$$ Integra)
Totally agree! Though our family hauler (2021 CRV ) was only offered with thr 1.5T and cvt trans in 2021. I wish I could have got the k24 still
I just snagged a '24 EX-L hatchback.
I have the same model but In Smokey Muave Pearl 🤞🏽. I just recently black out all the chrome and looks so much better
@@bw1tneywould you be able to share if your touring has road noise? Thank you!

Thanks for that review. Great car. I just wish the Sport sedan came in manual too like 10th Gen.
Agreed!!! Sedan would have been better for me
I visit Montreal frequently and they love manual transmission cars.
@@stevenr1354I’m jealous you Canadians also get the Mazda 3 sedan in a handful of trims in manual as well!
Thanks for the feedback man! All great points !
I found a brand new 2024 Hatchback Sport with a manual transmission about 30 miles away in my favorite color blue.
Get it!!!
was really tempted to get the same sport hatchback trim but when i compared it to the kia forte GT, the features and price that the kia offered just made more sense to go for... still a really nice looking car tho
Gonna regret that in a year or so when your car is worth 3 grand and blown up
@@brysonm6864 Doubtful but thanks for words of wisdom in the youtube comments...

Sounds like you got a great setup man! I believe the e:hev is coming to the US in 2024, they just haven’t announced it yet
Can't wait for this E-CVT Civic to hit the 🇺🇸 market.
@raymondreiff8170 you'll be pleased, it doesn't have a CVT transmission though- thank god as they are crap. It's just a motor/ generator powered by the 2.0ltr petrol engine.
Hi, great review. Would you be able to share your thoughts on road noise? Thank you!
It’s been perfect , no leaks and no lifting at all
I love your car. Thanks for the likes/dislikes video. Honda has done a great job with this generation Civic!
@@NAUS2K as an owner of a GX470 and a Mitsubishi Outlander (*cough), I can attest to that! Thank you!
I have the exact same car but in rally red and a 22’ model. Love the smooth shifting of the 6sp manual.
Awesome man I debated on getting it in red to match the s2000
Does the 6 speed come with remote start like the auto?
Not that I’m aware of. I don’t think remote start would work with a manual transmission.
No remote start in the 6 speed cars
Also, did you buy an extended warranty?
Have you noticed the duckbill effecting your MPG at all? I’ve been thinking about getting one for my boost blue hatch
No it does not make any difference
I wish my Accord sport had those wheels. Don’t get me wrong, I like the wheels I have but goddamn those all black ones are so much nicer
Not the end of the world, but whatever >.>
Great car! 👍 thank you for your input, definitely helped
Me and my partner are about to get the sport touring hatch with the cvt transmission and we're ecstatic, where'd you get the duck bill?
Great review! Where did you get the Duckbill?
All of the details are in the install video my friend, check it out on my channel!
I've got the same car but in Boost Blue Pearl. I'm thinking about getting the same ducktail spoiler you have. Would you recommend getting it in Berlina Black?
If it’s the look you are going for than yes!
Is it easier to get in and out of the driver’s seat compared to the 8th gen civic 4-door.
Let's hope thy keep this new shape for some time
Just grabbed a 2024 same except CVT :)
Naus, in one of your Civic Sport videos you mentioned that you were going to check to see if the part numbers for stiffer rear suspension from another model (maybe the R?) matched in order to upgrade. What was the outcome of that, and if it is doable can you provide any specific details? Thanks for your videos!
I have rear springs and shocks from a 2022 Civic Si in my garage, will be installing them in the near future. Stay tuned!
Only 158hp, but plenty for a daily commuter.
Does the civic sport have auto rev matching, like the corrolla hatch manual? I remember thoroughly enjoying that feature on my corolla.
Nope, gotta do it yourself! Only the Si and type R have it
Sorry about all these questions as I'm seriously considering the same exact car. Seeing the plastic valve cover saddens me. Would a metal valve cover from a 2002-2006 RSX fit on that engine being its a K20 motor as well?
Definitely not. The design of the whole head is different, even though it’s still a K series
@NAUS, hey Naus Just curious. Will you be selling your HFP suspension kit on your 8th anytime soon?
I sold the car with it last month , sorry man !
