    coming back to this to share: legit a week after this video came out I bought a 2024 civic in this white, in the sport trim. Not because of this video though, my last car got wrecked.
    I've had it since September 28th, and have put almost 1,300 miles on it, brand new. I was able to get it from the dealership with no packages or addons. If the dealer won't remove or is adamant about putting them on, go somewhere else.
    Here's what I can tell you.
    - The interior heats up and cools down quickly. On the colder days, I'm not even out of my neighborhood before it's at the perfect temp. Along with that, the dials and the buttons are clicky and responsive and I love it.
    - I do primarily city driving and range anywhere between 32 and 36 mpg. In the sport. It's a 20 minute drive to work, and another 20 back, all in the city. Yeah. I fill up at costco and gas only costs me 24 dollars for a full tank.
    - The steering is amazing. I had a jetta that was pretty good, this is just so sporty, its ridiculous.
    - It's a quick little car, even in NORMAL mode. It's zippy in sport but at the cost of your MPG and i'm not speedracer.
    - The interior is comfortable. I put in LED lightstrips in the floor, and have them in red. Beautiful.
    - The seats are no joke. Those buckets keep you firmly in the seat in winding turns.
    - It sits very low. Practically everyone who's sat in it has fallen into the seat. I like the fact it sits so low. Cool look.
    - Trunk space isn't great, considering I'm moving an entire bedroom 4 states away in August, so I'm worried, but it'll work.
    - The headlights are bright and are high quality.
    IF YOU WANT TO USE ANDROID AUTO, BUY A USB 3.0 CABLE. The car only accepts USB 3.0 transfer cables. It's a sad point, and I wish it was wireless, but whatever.
    I go about 350 miles on a tank of gas, and driving everyday, I go about 3 weeks without filling up.
    It's a looker of a car, so don't park it in the street. It will get robbed, or worse, your rims will be stolen. Look it up. It's a real thing.
    Also, buy a faraday cage. It blocks RFID signals so robbers can't clone your fob from outside of your house and steal your car.
    I also put Decepticon badges on the car because bad guys are cool

      I got same car 2 months, & " Ditto" on EVERYTHING you said. I couldn't have said it better myself nor covered all the points you mentioned. I do like it for the price point & my dealer did not mark up the MSRP, so that to me was a GREAT deal !!😊. It had only been on the lot 2 days when I saw it & traded in my 8 yr old car & drove this baby home. Haven't looked back !! Enjoying everything that was mentioned in the video & it covers a lot of information.

    • @alxbrooks
      @alxbrooks Před 9 měsíci +1

      I recently picked up a '24 ex-l hatch and agree with most of your points. It definitely feels adequately peppy in normal mode compared to the '21 hatch I had. Not really sure why, but I 100% noticed turbo lag in that gen and I don't with this one. I rarely put it in sport mode. Only stupid things are not having wireless charging, Sirius, or a glove compartment lock. I feel like they kinda went cheapo on that, but it's not a showstopper. I'd also like it to be a little wider in the front seat so my knee isn't resting against the center console, but that's another minor thing. Overall, I like it...this is a quality car. It's got a pretty decent turning radius, too (at least the hatch).

    • @JanetVaughn-cm3et
      @JanetVaughn-cm3et Před 9 měsíci

      @alxbrooks I hear you about wishing the seat was a tad bit wider. I don't have a big "rear" , but if wider it would be more comfortable & your knee wouldn't be against the center console. Also, I feel cramped in the ankle on the gas pedal. If I move the seat back its too far to reach the steering wheel, so if I move it up, my leg is bent uncomfortable & my foot is angled up at the ankle causing some strain. No matter how I adjust I can't get comfortable. Good thing I don't have long drives or it would be a deal breaker for me in that regard.

    • @alxbrooks
      @alxbrooks Před 9 měsíci

      @@JanetVaughn-cm3et yea I’ve found a sweet spot with the seating position, but it’s still not perfect. I could create more leg room by moving the seat down, but I don’t like the feeling of sitting that low. I’m assuming you’ve tried this, but you could pull the steering wheel out when the seat is back. I know the accord has great leg room, but I preferred the civic design. I tried the crv, too, but interestingly it felt like there’s even less leg room than the civic.

    • @JanetVaughn-cm3et
      @JanetVaughn-cm3et Před 9 měsíci

      @alxbrooks yes. I already adjusted the steering wheel out as far as it will go. But no help. Tried cushions & helping some but most are too narrow. Endless cycle. So I guess I will have to adapt. Oh well, minor issue I will have to learn to live with

    I just Financed mine! pulled it off the Lot with 5 miles on it. it drives very nice and it's very smooth. it has 3 modes (Sport, Econ, and normal). The steering wheel is either real leather and very smooth or its cheap leather, but it's still very smooth! Also, I don't recommend the 1.5turbo engine. turbo engines tend to overwork the engine and the engine wears off faster. The Honda Civic sport has a natural gas 4-cylinder engine, It's actually quicker than people think. Mine is still very new, I got to put more miles on it!

Plus straightforward cup holders in the front, the 17 was slanted and putting any cups would spill lol. I’ve been watching all the reviews on the touring and hatchbacks but honestly simplicity fits better for me and my budget lmaooo. Oh and the rims 🙂‍↕️I had hub caps on the 17 and they were so ugly.

    I think the people that buy Corolla XYZZ are more value conscious and truly are not interested in having their having to be clean. There is a certainty about Toyota even dated limitations. I like Hondas but Toyota is their own galaxy and planets period. Oddly the Toyotas I had let me down and the Hondas held up: manual trans though.

    Sonic gray pearl looks great with all the black trim. I have seen other cars with too much trim, this is not one of them. Aegean blue would be my 2nd choice.
    good: It has a trunk latch in the back now! It has wash spray IN the wipers and remote start!
    Hopefully, the LED headlights will be an improvement over the worst feature of the 10th generation, (2016-21).
    It has leather steering but with a seam right at your finger-tips, and automatic time on the clock if you wish.
    Visibility seems better. Warning light if there is something on the back seat when you turn the car off.
    bad: It has a smaller glove box than last generation and idle-stop. You have to turn it off each time you drive, or you get an engine start, slight lurch and scrape sensation.
    Maybe a software upgrade some time??? Gas gauge is lower resolution and no temp gauge. Interior seems to collect dust better now.

    For me, I don't care if a car has a sunroof or not. The Sport trim cars doesn't seem to have this or offer it at all. The biggest reason why I love the Sport trim Civic is the black headliner. I HATE the contrast between the black interior and light gray headliner/pillar trim in the Touring and other trim levels. I think the Sport is the only one out of all the trims levels that offer the black headliner as standard.

    I had 8200 equity in my 20 Fit EX. I had a 19 accord touring hybrid I had to sell in my divorce. I wanted a accord ex for 23. My car insurance was going to go up by 445 for 6 months. The Civic was 440 more over 6 months. The lowest at 235 more was the HRV. Accords and Civics are stolen more and very expensive to repair. I bought a 24 HRV EXL blind spot just on the cheaper insurance. I paid 29K, no mark ups, put 2K more down. My Fit was 330. My HRV is 342 a month. I financed 20500. Don’t over pay for a car or insurance. I really wanted another accord but not paying that more for insurance.

The sport trim for the mazda costs about the same as the civic, but it has 189 HP compared to the civic's 156 HP. It also has full leatherette seats and a premium interior. @otrbron5936 I live in Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas, and there are at least 15 to 20 dealers in a 50-mile radius. At the time a 2024 Civic Sport was coming from the manufacturer at 26,945. From my research, the dealer should be able to discount the vehicle up to 5% off the MSRP given that the vehicle has no add-on assesories from the manufacturer or the dealer, especially the dealer. Dealers will take delivery of the vehicle and do what they call dealer add on and double charge and pass it on to the buyer. The key is to not let the dealer add any upgrades that you can later do for way less than they can. Example: Tinted windows, care packages, wheel locks, pin strips, things you can get done yourself. Ask them what they will have coming in off the truck and find out the MSRP and negotiate that price and tell them you don't want dealer add on. It want be easy, but they can sell you a 2024 Civic under the MSRP. Even if you get 2% or 2.5% or even at MSRP you are getting a good deal. Try not to buy way above MSRP. Good luck brother

    The sad thing is since i bought my 2020 sport (10th gen) they have increased the price 25% and removed many things off the (11th gen). No longer has a trunk light, back seat went to one piece flip vs the 60/40 split, guages are now ½ analog vs the 10th gen full digital, no longer has fog lights or a USB in the center console and they basically glued an Ipad to the dash for the display vs the 10th gen integrated into the dash. Has same powertrain but added the stupid start/stop to the 11th gen. 10th gen also had a sportier looking center exit exhaust. Mirrors were color matched with black accents which looked more refined. The only improvment i see is the LED headlights. 10th gen looked way sportier and sleek. This was a step backwards.

      From an on-road perspective the Civic is a better daily. The Elantra is certainly more tech driven and cutting edge, I just don't think the 2 liter with the IVT is that great of a pairing although I'm not too crazy about the CVT for the Civic either.
      What has me sold on the Civic is the chassis and platform especially under $30k. With the Elantra, knowing you can get a DCT with the N-Line just incentivizes to spend a little extra. But reliability will ultimately be what sways a shopper at this price point.

I would appreciate it

      I’m confident you would be able to fit quite comfortably in the civic. Though I don’t have a 2024, I do have a 2016 which my brother can fit and drive perfectly fine in. (he is 6’1 as well). I’m pretty sure the 2016 has a bit of a smaller interior than the 2024 too. I know you can also adjust the seat in more ways than one. Of course the best way would be to test them out in person but I hope this helped a little!

      I'm 6'1 as well. No issues in my hatch so far. That said, I could use probably an inch of leg room and maybe an inch wider so my knee isn't so close to the center console. Otherwise, it's been pretty doable (certainly not crammed). You're gonna have trade-off's in every car.

      @@user-rn3yv1fy7r the Accord usually has a little more leg room in the front, but maybe not as much in the latest generation. I didn't test drive that one because I just wasn't a fan of the styling. However, I think the CRV has even less front leg room than the Civic. I felt crammed in it during the test drive. Overall, I like the car so far, though I could do without the idle start/stop...that is definitely the most annoying feature on the car. I'm hoping that I get used to it.

    **Man** you're smoking grass if you think the Civic Sport outmatches an Elantra lol. Preferably a Kia Forte GT-Line which is the exact same price, not only do you get better fuel economy, but you get more power and quicker acceleration + 10 years 100k powertrain warranty. You also get *leather* bolstered seats that are 3-stage heated and cooled, the driver's is 10-way power adjustable, you also get a far more intuitive 10.25 in. screen where the Civic is only 7 in. 😂 what else man, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, rear A/C vents, rear USB, and full-on highway driving assist... a sportier flat-bottom steering wheel, premium *Harman Kardon* sound system, electric assist trunk that will fully open on approach, also REAR cupholders.
    I appreciate that there are people who want to buy Civic's and make the market competitive but I can't understand the "hard to look anywhere else" claim when the Forte GT-Line offers exponentially more for 26k.

      The GT-Line has 147 hp and 132 lb ft of torque which is less than the Civic Sport. Has no manual option like the Sport unless you go with the GT.
      Kia doesn’t offer leather seats. Kia’s SynTex upholstery is a leatherette material.
      Some of the features you’re referencing like the heated and ventilated seats, wireless phone charger, and 10 way driver seat are all optional and would then place the GT-Line at the same price point as the Civic EX which has the better 1.5l 4 cylinder and similar features to a well equipped GT-Line.
      Even if we’re going to compare a GT to the Si, the Civic is a far better driver’s car than what Kia is offering and the sales are a reflection of that.
