The “wtf did you just say” after the comparison to coco got me so good lol
Totally missed the fact that Evolution Witness with LED makes infinite mana of any color with Kenrith activations.
But that's only in Tayam where you can take the counters off again right? You Can't evolve it if it already has counters
@@jgmclellanthe ability triggers any time a +1/+1 counter is placed on it. Evolve is just one way to do so.
@@jgmclellankenrith has an activated ability to put a +1/+1 counter on a target creature for 1G, so it creates infinite green mana with LED and evolution witness
@@SardonicVidainfinite any color mana with it after you have infinite green
@@SardonicVida gotta, missed the part where OP said you also need Kenny, ty
Hey guys, btw, with Nadu + Shuko/Umbral mantle... you don't need to unattach a creature and reattach another. You can target the same creature with the equip to trigger Nadu.
I've played mtg for over 10 years and I never thought of this
@@legoking1001 that’s how I felt when I learned that you can target a creature with equipment even after it’s already equipped. The target still happens, but nothing else (equipment wise) does
Ewwwwwwww
@@Mr12345pokemon LMFAOOOO this is so valid
I heard someone say this and thought they were just making stuff up, but this really seals the deal. That's both bizarre and outrageous. Thanks for the clarification.
Omg I was screaming in my car that with “Evolution Witness” you guys didn’t mention Kenrith and the with THE NEXT CARD you mention him! LOL
Seems great with LED, anything else?
@skyguytomas9615 it's pay 2 mana bring any permanent back to hand?
You don't have to atk with SIX ever btw. Just discard land and retrace. You can also use SIX with Necrobloom. Dredge 2 for a land to hand. Rinse and repeat. Honestly you can get your whole library pretty easy. Endurance would be an amazing protection piece as well.
Yu-Gi-Oh has had a ton of references to other Konami IPs throughout the years.
Tactical Espionage Expert is just Solid Snake, Vampire Hunter is a Castlevania character, and Aitsu, Koitsu, Doitsu, and Soitsu were in Parodius, Konami's Gradius "meme game."
So Cameron is totally on the money when he says YGO has had (a form of) universes beyond.
Evolution Witness + LED in Kenrith is infinite mana all colors, no?
Yeah that's a fair point
Evolution witness + LED by itself is already infinite green right?
@johndoetv488 no because adapt says if there are no counters on it you can activate it. Kenrith is needed to give it the counters
@@johndoetv488You'd need Kenrith to put the counter on Evolution Witness so that the Lion's Eye Diamond returns to your hand
Ty kind sirs
Notably: Invert Polarity can counter counterspells. You have them change their target to themselves or to the invert polarity. Not sure which one specifically.
Tyler is a great addition. His monotone voice is fantastic in contrast 😂 Lots of range and flavor
Edit: Nadu is broken cuz wotc misplaced the last quotation marks. Last quotes should be before (This effect only happens twice) not after lol
I don't think that's the case, because then the rules text wouldn't make any sense - what ability only triggers twice each turn? Nadu doesn't have a triggered ability to only trigger twice. It would break how magic cards are formatted.
If anything, the mistake is that either he shouldn't have granted the ability to all your other creatures, or if he did, it should have only triggered off stuff your opponents control.
One card I think you've missed is Unstable Amulet specifically for Ob Nix. It makes every spell you cast from under Ob trigger a new card being exiled.
Tyler's giggle after "just get rid of Kinnen" when discussing Disciple of Freyalise should be a clip you guys keep forever. That giggle had like 6 different emotions in it and I'm here for it.
"What the fuck did you just say?!" @ 19:40 SENT me holy shit 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Funny thing about invert polarity, you still get a 50% shot at taking control of an uncounterable spell when you are desperate.
Invert polarity gaining control of a counterspell can make the counterspell target invert similar to misdirection
Truly missed this
You already know we here early to support the boys! Nice to see yall on elder dragon highlander! I hope that brings more eyes on my favorite CEDH channel! You guys deserve all the success ✌️
“Bill the pony rider” got me good 😂
Good to meet y’all in Commandfest ATL! Fanatic of Rhonas will be playtested in my Sakashima/ Kodama list.
Never been this early before. Have a good weekend boys!
For Eladamri, I feel like he does have a home in one cEDH deck, and that's Selvala. He has a neat loop you can do with sabertooth and great oak guardian.
Selvala is just looking to shove as many loops as possible too so having another one doesnt hurt.
I don’t even play cEDH yet I still find y’all fun to tune into. Spending like five minutes on primal prayers to give it a 0 after calling it collected company for your hand 😂
Something cool about bridgeworks battle is it turns on Druid lines in tayam!
Been testing Six and Ripples of Undeath lately. Six is great post Ad Naus, but wiffs alot because of the low land count in most decks. As a recursion piece it can be very good, but it doesn't quite replace Sevinne's Reclamation for me. I was very iffy on Undeath at first, seems slow and mana intensive. But it digs deep during a grindy game, and being able to return a non-permanent to hand has been huge. In my decks I've liked Undeath alot more tbh
Ripples is underrated imo. Maybe not cedh but good
Important thing about shifting woodland is you dont need to tap it to activate the ability so you can use itself to pay the cost
Cam and I have the same shirt!!! The conversations in these have been great!
WHERE!! does Tyler's shirt come from, I really like it
The creator also plays a ton of cEDH
@@wedgearyxsaber oh neat! who is that?
Gold sabretooth, he is on Etsy. My original reply did not send
arena of glory can also give haste to two creatures in the same turn if you cast each with one pip
One thing with shifting woodland, you can tap itself for its own cost, so if you're getting a shuko or something else that doesn't need to tap, it actually costs 1 green mana, rather than the 2 if you would need it untapped.
Urza's workshop is the only card that cares about the urzas land type specifically.
The other Nadu win is legit Temur Sabertooth + anything that makes mana. You can also run Minamo, it’s a fun deck but it’s not overpowering. I just like having options in Simic.
Temur sabertooth would need to bounce something that can untap another creature that makes mana.
For example, sabertooth bouncing Hyrax Tower Scout so you can recast it and untap Selvala would work.
It’s absolutely overpowering, what are you talking about, have you actually played against this deck
Arena of Glory and Shifting Woodland are by two favorite lands in this set. I threw Arena of Glory in Kaalia and Voja, and Shifting Woodland into my Eldrazi deck.
Is Disciple of Freyalise good in Etali?
Either getting it from an ETB trigger of Etali,or sacrificing Etali / token copy and drawing the 7 cards? Or 11 if flipped?
On invert polarity, it does counter counterspells on a win-flip same way that swat words (assuming the counterspell can target instants)
Bridgeworks Battle can potentially be very big for Tayam, as it provides a buff to your Devoted Druid without needing threshold while also acting as removal or a simply land drop.
For discussion about Acerak and the primal prayers combo there is the option of decoration module to get energy as well. Golgari energy doesn't sound great but sure.
I said it on the short but god Six is fun. I've never been a selfmill or monocolor guy, but I got a copy for the Disa precon and my god did it make me want to build a deck for him on his own. What a beast.
I'm pretty sure it was said on the short and maybe already said here but Six doesn't have to attack to get the retrace - attacking just mills, but Six always grants the retrace to your permanents in graveyard as long as it's your turn.
It would be interesting to hear the evaluation of cards from new sets with regards to your favorite casual decks I think. Maybe once every couple of sets?
Dude I love haywire mite, not sure why but probably one of my favorite magic cards, so clean
As Shifting Woodland isn't once per turn or Sorcery speed, can you put multiple activations on the stack to get it to shift between cards? Or when it shifts is it no longer Shifting Woodland so the trigger fizzle?
one thing about Shifting Woodland, it can tap for its own ability I believe. which is both neat and weird :p
I love the accidental quoting of always sunny at 1hr20mins
Been loving the hell out of Imskir. I’m slowly building him up but with his playstyle with artifacts there is so much wiggle room when it comes to budget options. I think the deck either is just using him for draw with occasional flinging OR you go for big creatures that allow you to get multiple triggers on death and the draw is an afterthought. I played my most recent game where he drew me 20+ cards and he was around 24 mana lol
Urza's Workshop is the card that cares about "Urza's" land types. Was a set pack only commander card in Brother's War I think.
Love this set!
I put Eladamri in Shalai & Hellar. Plays dorks, combo and stacks creature from the top of my library. Great card advantage.
Are you folks doing a set review for the new commander cards? Feel like some of these lands from tricky terrain could do work
Evolution witness is a good card in Kenrith decks. Makes infinite mana with Kenny and LED, you can neoform dockside into it and return dockside to your hand immediately and it's really good with cauldron.
Six is definitely one of the best cards in the set. In decks with ad nauseam and breach it can act as a breach when paired with grinding station and a maná rock until you mill your breach and cast it. In Korvold It draws your deck with Dakmor salvage and any 0 mana artifact that sacrifices itself (netting also mana if it produces mana). In decks like Kenrith that use the graveyard, have permanent based wincons and are very mana hungry a t provides so much value... Overall great card in the format.
8:04 disciple sacs your etali too and lets you refire with the mana you find or atraxa.
I'm a big fan of necrobloom with any cost reducing effects for cycling on the cycling lands just going through your whole deck dredging it heard that's pretty good
I just realized that Shifting Woodland can help pay for itself since delirium does not require a tap. Just float the Green from SW then use it to pay. not bad.
Evolution witness in kenrith has felt insane. Kenrith staple imo. Also creates a new bomberman loop while not being a dead card outside the combo
winter moon is a nice piece of hate for mono colored decks against greedy mana bases
I have a fringe chatterfang Cedh deck and eladamri is super useful in there as I have lots of token creatures and being able to cheat in creatures that are wincons is super helpful.
I'm fucking dying at the "just get rid of Kinnan" 😂 and Tyler's laugh❤
Does Play to Win do cube? They keep mentioning a cedh cube but I can't find the videos anywhere 😢
Evolution Witness with Evolution Sage, returning sac lands to trigger proliferate several times a turn (granted you can play multiple lands per turn)
Running Six with intuition in my Tasigur deck, looking for six/animate dead/hullbreaker. Also after playing with it since it was released, Six is actually bonkers good to the point where I tutor for it.
Can’t invert polarity change the target of the spell you gain control of to invert polarity since it is on the stack? Like deflecting swat?
I’m a fan of vexing bauble. Its like a mini d grid
I’m running kozileks unsealing in 7 mana atraxa and it’s wonderful to get the draw three off of cast
The disciple of freyalise is a banger with Yargle and Multani
Tyler where did you get that mardu shirt from?
30:30 Can't you redirect the counterspell to Invert Polarity itself? Like with Deflecting Swat?
So in temur and glint eye color combos intuition can get you six shifting woodlands and underworld breach and as long as you have a land in hand you get a breach out
I play Fanatic of Rhonas in Derevi for the Emiel combo.
28:47 omg does my favorite jank card, Spine of Ish Sah, finally have a home 😮
In a more casual state, the lotr palantir combos with necrobloom. If you have a land in your yard you can dredge instead of the draw trigger and force 2+however many counters on palantir worth of cards from the top and burn for total cmc
That doesn't actually work. The Palantir cares about what they chose, not whether or not you end up drawing the card. (See CR 118.12). From what I understand it's bugged on Arena, but it doesn't actually do that.
Invert Polarity can change the target of the Counterspell to itself the same as Deflecting Swat.
What are our thoughts of Disciple of Freyalise in Atraxa, Grand Unifier?
30:50 why can't you do the deflecting swat trick and redirect the counterspell to Lose Polarity? Is the process somehow different?
24:20 Life From the Loam offers some really interesting loops with Six
I'm a Chulane player. Primal Prayers combos with greenbelt rampager to fulfill a similar line to shrieking drake and alluren. I havent playtested it yet tho.
With Kenrith and Evo Witness and enough mana you can start looping perma silence until you find your wincon
Just ordered some play to win game mats all the way from malaysia. Sup dylan cam and tyler😊😊
It definitely feels like the 2-3 color decks get a big boost from this set and because of that, the 4-5 color decks get pulled down some which I think overall rounds out the format more as we've been in a higher color count meta for what feels like a long time now
Would you consider Disciple of Freyalise in Etali?
Love the gameplay of cedh however I'm not too familiar with the meta so I was wondering how common graveyard hate is. If not then with the necrobloom you can also go through your deck with fluctuator and any 2 generic cycle land. First combos I thought of with that is bone miser for infinite mana, gaea's blessing and syr konrad
11:20 monogreen elfstorm with scryb ranger and quirion ranger and baby you got yourself a stew
Emrakul’s Messenger goes well with Marneus
Ok maybe I am thinking about this wrong but, with necrobloom in play, if you sac nurturing peatland, can't you bring it back with dredge since the cost force it into the graveyard then when the draw resolves you have the option to dredge instead?
With lotus cobra and some extra land creatures(Asuza, Dryad, etc.), you should be able to dredge like 3 times. Now the question is, does it stack? If so and each land in your grave triggers dredge, you could probably mill yourself that turn and look for a win from there? Just curious for a Casual deck idea rather than CEDH tho. 😂
Winter moon could be used in Magda.... Slow multicolored decks, and can be tapped for artifact effects
Deciple of Freyalise is a must in Etali!!!!
And Fanatic of Rhonas seems good in it too.
34:49 Bill, the Pony Rider
The Necrobloom goes infinite dredge with fluctuator + a cycle land > Bridge from Below > Dread Return > Auramancer > Cthonian Nightmare > Priest of Gix > Shambling Ghast > Infinite energy > Kozilek's predator > Infinite black mana > Blood Artist > infinite drain.
It also fits Proteon Hulk lines with Warren Soul Trader + Gravecrawler + Blood Artist.
I think its a strictly Casual Combo playground commander but, it does have some spicy lines to win.
I have a K'rrik deck and a Selvala deck... imo the bolt mdfc lands and the null blast are good... Null blast is helpful cuz there are not many counterspells in those colors... I also run Warpin Wail cuz of that reason
Boros has two tutors for dockside. Recruiter of the guard and imperial recruiter.
I mean invert polarity you can just use like fierce guardianship to redirect the counterspell to the invert polarity?
I believe you're thinking of Deflecting Swat, not Fierce Guardianship
Fanatic of Rhonas is amazing with Tasigur. Tasigur turns the Fanatic on and the Fanatici pays for Tasigur by himself.
Also, did you guys not discuss the UB MDFC? The land etb tappen, but it's a tutor on the front for bowmaster/fierce Guardianship/ad narset etc. It's also blue, so you can pitch it to FoW.
The land coming in tapped makes it suck. They should have said pay 6 life
I have used shiftinf woodland to copy a ranger captain of eos, and pop it to stop players from going off.
Invert Polarity is pretty sweet, i had it replace actual counterspell, which honestly I should probably cut already but it just feels wrong to cut counterspell in decks where I inherently value counter spells.
3:34 this probably sees play in Sissay too. Remove a stax piece tutor for something bigger; you paid 1 mana essentially.
51:45 I actually play liberator, urza's battlethopter in cedh as my main deck. I have a couple of mtgtop8 listings with it, but nothing crazy. Mh3 gave my deck so many good cards. I would really love to see liberator get some more recognition in cedh, but it's not likely.
Flute can also be "prevent target player from playing their commander"
Emrakul's Messenger could be a Talion card for sure!
Is winter moon another mono artifact too?
1:02:11 - to answer this, no, GW Selvala doesn't really want this card. We don't run many Plains (or lands in general), so this is far more likely to be a tapped land, and we generate green mana when comboing so the double white activation cost is killer.
Questions that popped up while watching the video :
- Will Phlage be played in Dihada ?
- Can you consistently enough draw your deck with Nadu to add thoracle and even labman ?
- Will Dylan play vexing bauble in blood pod ?
- Will Dylan play Arena of Glory in Codie ?
Primal Prayers and guide of souls + cloudstone and a 0 drop creature is infinite energy. Would be interesting with Rograk but idk what the strategy would be to actually win lol
Plage getting a 2.Anything is very generous, I pulled it out of a collector pack and as pretty as the card but a Boros Giant that's just a Lightning Helix, can be fun but I don't know if it'll be doing anything
Would Cultivator Colossus function similar to The Gitrog Monster a hypothetical The Necrobloom build? If so then theres more than one creature you could be looking for. No worries if I'm wrong, I'm very new to cEDH
Hey does play to win have a discord? I'm trying to figure out how to make a good cedh deck and am looking for people to help out
This set is so beautiful. There are very few staples, but there are SO MANY good cards if you build around them. Unfortunately, edh is singleton, so you need like 40 synergy cards to build around a 99 card instead of 6/7 for your 60 card decks
