    I’ve seen several people use dental floss, I use to think it was a joke. My dad works on nasa aircraft and told me they use string and special knots to tie wires, and dental floss is legit for quads. The more u know 🎉

      I saw Mr ShutterBug use dental floss, been using it ever since, it's weighs next to nothing, and is incredibly strong, didn't know these techniques were also used in more serious environments, thanks man!

    This works really well I put the HD camera off my mob6hd onto a moblite7 and it worked great. Without the stand offs though it was really difficult to access the SD card. On the plus side at least it won’t pop out in a crash (which happens all the time) since the frame blocks it from falling out. I would also give a big warning to be careful how you route the HD camera wire bundle (the one from the camera board to the camera itself). It’s hard to see when you do it, and it’s not shown here but I guess when I put it in I kind of pinched it between the canopy and the camera board. It worked fine until I crashed once and it squished and cut that wire bundle, wrecking the camera. Could be my bad luck but the wire is way longer than it needs to be so be careful how you tuck it all in there and try not to put it in such a way that the canopy will cut it if you press down on it. Nice videos thank you.

      Thanks you 🙂 and thanks for the advice! That's really bad luck your cable got damaged, those thin wires really get cut easily . I rotate the camera a few times so it bundles up into a little spiral, and put it in the empty space in the canopy behind the camera. But yeah for a whoop this cable is just way to long. On an other whoop frame I had the same problem with part of the hoop blocking the sd card tray, I had to cut a bit of plastic of just to be able reach it.

    You should try out the elrs fc or receiver it’s a ton better and lighter.

      @SquareOneFPV  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah I feel tempted to try it 😄, thing is I've put this together with components I had laying around, to keep the costs down. And I don't feel like switching between my crsf module and the elrs one. So I'd have to put it on all my quads. But it's already on my wish list so it's probably just a matter of time before I buy it 😂.

      @@SquareOneFPV hi sq1, longtime no see. I've just finish a 75HD with 33g of weight (tiny rush tank, tbs nano, 19k kv happymobula, runcam split3 nano from mobula6HD). Flight with 450mah 1s betafps only get 2'45s. Is this so bad? May i know your throttle of hover power? Mine is 65-70% of throttle to get hover and the quad quite heavy.

    • @SquareOneFPV
      @SquareOneFPV  Před 2 lety

      @@nhubach2367 Hi 😃! Yes it's been a while, how are you? That's a nice build 👍. Do you get 2.45min indoors or outdoors? I get about 3 to 4 min indoors but that's with moderate speed. Outdoors I get 3min tops, mostly 2.30 to 2.45.
      Mine weighs 31gr dry and 44gr auw, with the URUAV 1s 450. I've flown Betafpv 300mah batteries but I wasn't very happy with them, they were ok at first, not great just ok, and also they degraded very fast 🙁.
      What props do you use? I fly with HQ 4 bladed props and I just started using Newbeedrone AZI props, I don't use Gemfans 3 or 4 bladed 75mm props, they are too heavy.
      I think I hover around 40 to 45%, czcams.com/video/rntx0Dytooc/video.html
      Check this vid, the parts I show goggle dvr shows my throttle position in the left bottom corner, at the end you can see how long my flight was, I think it about 4 minutes.
      Since your weight is pretty similar to mine, I think it's going to be your batteries or props, or maybe both. If you got some more questions feel free to ask, I'll help you as best I can! Good luck with it 🙌🙂

      @nhubach2367 Před 2 lety +1

      @@SquareOneFPV glad to hear your reply. I've got 2.45 indoor with stable speed, just testing in my room and still not go outside. Currently, i'm using 4 blades HQ Prop as like you. I've tested with others battery (included 300mah betafpv, 450mah betafpv and 520 gnb) and think the batteries are all ok. So, the thing may come from the heavier quad (33.6g vs your at 31g) and different FC (mine is zeus5 aio).

      @nhubach2367 Před 2 lety +1

    Hi sq1. I was thinking about when you said pendulum effect. What is the benefit of inverted with battery on top in terms of jello? I thought pusher config are best for stability however pendulum effect has a point.

    • @SquareOneFPV
      @SquareOneFPV  Před 3 lety

      That's a very good question! 😅 Most of the jello will come from the vibrations of the motors and props, transferred through the frame to the camera. So unless we can make the motor / prop combination vibration free, the only way to get rid of jello is making it so the vibrations cannot reach the camera.
      Soft mounting will help, but this camera is so light, getting 'soft enough' soft mounting will be hard.
      A pusher config will not help with jello, it's does change the center of gravity, and thus gives a drone a different feel when flying.

    • @jeffclassics
      @jeffclassics Před 3 lety +1

      @@SquareOneFPV maybe the jello isn't the perfect concern but other stability factors. But yeah I know you got what I mean about pendulum and stabilization. I wish to try out and feel the difference of the inverted if I finish mine. What's the dry weight of yours?

    • @SquareOneFPV
      @SquareOneFPV  Před 3 lety

      @@jeffclassics You're going to build an inverted whoop? 😋 alright 😁, let me know what you think of it! Yes they do feel more stabile, and have better cornering. Maybe you've seen them but I got video's on my 65 and 75mm inverted whoops, if you are interested.
      65mm inverted= 17.5gr
      75mm inverted= 19.9gr >> this one has the Beta 75 pro frame, with a Mobula 7 V2 frame it would be only 18.9gr
      75mm outdoor whoop= 29.9gr

    • @jeffclassics
      @jeffclassics Před 3 lety +1

      @@SquareOneFPV Yes i've seen your old built videos and your skills in weaving dental floss bro; that's original. I can do 30-35g I guess. I tried to invert my stock tinygo frame, used the 1103 motor, crazybee board and runcam 2. i'm getting about 38-40g. 1s can't lift much my setup. if i can't do 35g outdoor then i'll definitely buy the mobula 6HD and work on it instead like what you did.. Btw, you think you can fly like Nick Burns in indoor? He races good indoor in his home. hehe

    • @SquareOneFPV
      @SquareOneFPV  Před 3 lety

      @@jeffclassics Cant' take credit for the dental floss, got the idea from Mr. Shutterbug 😅. Yeah weight is key factor in making whoops fly better. Good luck in making it lighter!
      Haha Nick Burns really is fast in his house, I don't know, maybe 😋, my apartment is a much smaller space to fly in as Nick's house. And I don't think he'll let me fly there, because he doesn't like inverted whoops 😂.

    I was looking into building something along these lines. a "cinewhoop" with the split cam. But since you went all out with the TBS vtx and xm receiver, have you pushed the range yet? What is your limits thus far?

    • @SquareOneFPV
      @SquareOneFPV  Před 3 lety

      I don't really "long range" with my whoops, the tbs vtx is great, 500mw will get you +1km easily, with nothing obstructing your line of sight that is. The xm is my limiting factor, I fail safed about 100m out going behind a small metal structure. Going to try an ELRS receiver. TBS crossfire works great but adds to much weight in my opinion.

  • @jacki157

    How much does it weight? And how's the flight time?

    • @SquareOneFPV
      @SquareOneFPV  Před 3 lety

      It's 29.9gr check 15:22. Without the Split 3 lite it's 6 to 7gr less.
      On URUAV 1S 450mah I get 4 minutes on a cruising flight indoors. Outdoors it's more like 3 to 3.30 minutes.

    • @SquareOneFPV
      @SquareOneFPV  Před 3 lety

      I don't, I had to use longer screws, the M6HD comes with these longer screws. If you don't have longer screws you can try looking for them in home appliances or small plastic toys, nobody will notice it's missing 2 screws 😂🤘.

    • @SquareOneFPV
      @SquareOneFPV  Před 3 lety

      Nice 👍, I'm using HQ 40mm 4 bladed props, going to try and compare to newbee drone 3 bladed soon. No powering the runcam is no problem, the vtx provides cleaner power so it cleans up the fpv video. But under 3.2v the vtx shuts down so I do have to keep an eye on the V.
      My next video will show you why I've cut the canopy, you the first to notice 😁!
