  • Hey Cat Nerds!
Here we go on a short walk along the Basingstoke Canal. I find this walk isn't as busy, although it can still be noisy when trains go by, and also when the MOD is practicing on the firing range! Considering all these scary noises, Buddy has been doing very well on this walk recently.
I have been trying out a new technique in which I keep the lead quite short so that Buddy is very close to me. The idea is to get him to walk at my pace, and not stop as often to smell the bushes and such. So, basically if Buddy stops, I'm almost immediately reacting and prompting him to continue walking. I'm also not allowing him to get too far ahead. I think this technique has been working well as Buddy has been walking a lot more consistently, but he does still stop quite often, so we've still got a lot more to work on! But it's a good starting point and I think it's something all cat parents should know when embarking on adventure training. So I hope this helps you!
    Happy Adventuring!
