  • Hey Cat Nerds!
We received a new GPS tracking collar from Pawtrack! So I wanted to try this out and make sure that it was properly tracking our walk.
We had a little scare once on a walk where I accidentally dropped Buddy’s lead, he got spooked, and ran off! Luckily his lead got caught around some branches so he didn’t go far... But I was very worried/panicked and kept thinking that if he were to somehow get off the lead again on a completely new walk, we might never find him again! So I want to be extra precautious by using a GPS tracking collar, just in case anything were to happen, then I would be able to locate him very quickly!
I was very pleased with the collar from Pawtrack. It tracked our route, and I believe it provides that extra bit of security we need to keep our babies safe, because we never know what might happen out on a walk, so I’d rather be extra cautious! My only note is that the collar is quite chunky, so with the harness it seems a bit overcrowded... but this is one of the sleeker collars out there, as others I saw had huge boxes attached that didn’t look very nice at all! So I think this is one of the better looking GPS collars.

Pawtrack is designed to release automatically under a force of 15kg, which is 33 pounds. I'm looking into being able to track a barn cat with a GPS. Thanks for your review. I like this collar, but worried that requires too much force to release if cat was caught on something.

No worries! From the design of the collar, I don't think it would take too much force to remove if the cat was caught on something. Part of the collar is also rubbery so I think it would stretch if force were to be applied. It's not too bulky so hopefully it would be less likely to get caught anyway.

I bought two of these collars for my cats but cannot use them as there is no customer support , I have emailed them several time but no one gets back to me. I have managed to work out everything about setting up and all. The collar does not have an easy removal/ access process , I do not want my fur babies to suffer because I cannot remove the collar. there is no realis button.

Hi! Wonderful video. I was wondering if you have any update info on the GPS collar. I recently adopted a 1yr cat (was living in a bush in my mum's neighborhood, couldn't say no to him) and I am trying to figure out the best GPS tracker to get him. I was going to get a new collar Whistle came out with this year, but then I found this one by Pawtrack. I'm familiar with the Whistle brand, but since the Pawtrack is designed specifically for cats I am intrigued.

Thanks for watching! Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with this collar. It was working fine at first but now I can't connect to it at all through the app... So not great! Will be posting a blog post about this collar soon!

@@buddythebengalx7291 I was afraid of that. I ordered a new collar that Whistle came out with this year. It seems like it will fit better on cats than the others they have. I don't know if you get Whistle in the UK, but if you do, and if you would like, I can give you an update on that once I get it. My mum uses it on her cats, but not the model I'm getting. It is pretty reliable. I like them a lot, even though they are made for dogs. I recommend Whistle whether or not the new collar is better suited for cats. Doesn't seem to bother my mum's cats in the slightest. I was flirting with the idea of creating some video reviews of the things I am getting my cat..... I don't know....

If you have GPS Collar why do you need to have your cat on a lead.

There are many reasons ,your cat might wanna run in open space ,my cat does that a lot the moment i unleash him he would run and play, you don't want them to go far away to get stuck somewhere or be attacked by other animals or play with a snake!

Just a lot of talk no one actually knows how to do a proper review. Sick of all this talk. She is the daughter of the guy that makes the collar people, which does not work. The collar is very difficult to get off . I bought two of these but cannot use them , I have emailed Customer support several times but no one replies.

I have no relation to the maker of the collar. Since posting the video I have had issues with the collar, and do not use it anymore, I just haven’t had the chance to do a follow up.
