Definitely I-80. I-88 is limited to Illinois. But the idea is sound.
I grew up in Reno around the time you passed through the Sierra Nevada mountains. This song fits very well. As a kid I watched The Twilight Zone, and The Outer Limits often. This song, paired with those shows captured my imagination. Though, long since I've left my hometown, I've figured that Aokigahara (the suicide forest) of Japan is a more accurate geo-location that this song is an embodiment of.

Thinking this is Malaysia, happy to be proven wrong. I'm in Thailand and the street (soi) scenes, country and city were fantastic, so much like here.

I age 75 was lost in a forest with my 6 year old grandson Neels...I said if we find water we will die. He looked up to me and said: 'grandpa we will live infinit'!

1st time I heard this song I had a joint on one hand and a 40oz on the other. The year was 1992 at an East LA house party under the rain. This was considered a k-roq flashback for those from my area. Soon after that, it was an introduction to this great genre... The Cure, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, etc.
