  • Today I drain and refill the hydraulic system and look into the left and right reduction gear units. Later today I pressure washed everything inside to remove 30 years of dirt, mud, and oil.
The hydraulic system calls for 6.6 gallons of ATF Type F along with a 0.5q of mysterious lubricant, Toyota P/N 38999-42800-71 that I can't find any information on.
The gear reduction units are 4.2 gallons per side. Mine were still golden yellow so I didn't do anything with them yet.
    Wheels: 16.5" x 8.25" with approx 4" offset

    Tires: 10x16.5"
Someone didn't replace the lug nut studs correctly so I ordered a new set of 32 lug nuts and 6 studs to replace the wrong sized ones.

Hi, I have an SDK7, drain and fill plugs on the sides are for the transmission? Do you know if they take the same type F fluid? Before I crawl under, can you let me know where oil drain plug is? Thanks!

The plugs on the sides behind the wheels are for the chains. The gear reduction units are 4.2 gallons of motor oil per side.
