Christmas theme to this one 😁🎄🎅
Gotta love that shirt
What are those gloves you are wearing running?
@@waiveyvibes neoprene, kayak gloves - handy because I keep my fingers warm, but I can take the finger covering off to use the camera
Mark - how old are you now? how old were you when you lost all the timber?
Shoulda let your grandkid do more commentary!! Adorable!
Mark: "This is horrible. "
Granddaughter: carefree giggles at Mark's pain.
Awesome!
*granddaughter
Evil laugh is another way to describe it 🤣
2.5k in - ‘I’m dying’ - grand daughter ‘ho ho ho Merry Christmas’ 😂
"Half way, shall we swap over?"
Your granddaughter is an absolute treasure. What a good sport. Always smiling, always positive, a true partner in crime.
Impressive on several fronts. 1. Everyone was actually wearing a Santa outfit. 2. You found the only kid in the world that will smile, laugh and let you shake/bounce it for over 38 minutes without throwing a tantrum and/or crying. 3. You didn't break anything. 4. You beat your fat younger self. Kudos.
We nailed it 😁
Don’t forget the camera adds 10 pounds. Merry Christmas.
😆
That little kid on his back smiling and laughing all the way is the most wholesome thing
I have recently lost 22kg and it really got put into perspective how much I had actually lost when I recently purchased a 20kg bag of dog food..... To think I had that much extra weight hanging off my body is insane. Still have 21kg to lose to be at my goal, but I'm over halfway there!!!
Mark, this is the substitute for the Die Hard Christmas movie we didn’t know we wanted, but so desperately needed. You sir are a Christmas hero, and a great grandfather to boot! Your granddaughter laughing while you struggle is hilarious.
Yipi Kai Yay!
Definitely a video idea for next Christmas Mark. You running up a skyscraper dressed as John McClane
I lost 80 lbs in my early 30s and have also recently noticed the weight creeping back up on me. Thank you for this video, it helps me get back on track! Your granddaughter is adorable and she's around the age of my own daughter, who is a big reason for me to stay healthy as well!
Great stuff Mark, love it.
Mark: 'What was your mum thinking letting you come along?'
Grand daughter: *Laughs*
I’ve been waiting for a fit human to do this exact thing for so long that I actually learned that pace doesn’t matter. As long as you’re doing it, you’re better than you were before. With that said, I started running at 310lbs. I’m now 290 and ran my fastest 5k a month ago at 34:44. The feeling of breaking the 35 mark was a big deal. When I first started, it was a struggle to even go 100meters. Keep to it everyone!
Under 35 minutes at 290 is fucking impressive as hell dude!!
What was the slowest time you remember running a 5k?
@@suserman7775 around 48mins give or take
Very interesting video Mark, thank you. I'm 71 now, been following you for some time. I walk 11km three times a week, don't jog, surgeon's advice after acetabular fracture (hip socket fracture) 6 years ago. My target time is 1hr 50 minutes, best so far 1hr 54 and seconds, but plenty of thinking time. Today I was thinking about your video with the race walker and tried it out, with a less flamboyant style for 50 metres. Now I have two different targets.....get to 500metres with my version of 'race walking' whilst on a quest to reach 95kg which will be a loss of 10kg. From there I'll see what happens. Seasonal greetings from Thailand to you and yours.
Great to hear age is no reason to stop setting some targets! And walks are a perfect time for thinking.
Well done. Could you do some cycling though, thats another great way to get around without too much stress on the joints.
i've learned a few things from your recent videos, your granddaughter giggling her way around the parkrun made me smile through the whole video and we need more Josh.
No one needs more josh 🤣
@@MarkLewisfitness Bwahaha
Man, the look on their face at 3:28 was just priceless.
Every time Mark is talking about Parkruns i realise how much i envy him. The next Parkrun from my Home is 150 km away.... I just keep grinding by myself.
Set one up
Sorry that wasn't meant to seem so flippant, but they're volunteer organised events so yoh could set one up. Unless you live in Shetland.
I'm lucky - 4 within 15 mins drive! One I can run to!
@@purplemonkeydishwasher5269 I look into that. Thanks.
@@purplemonkeydishwasher5269 there is one in Shetland, on Bressay!
Your Granddaughter's commentary was hilarious Mark. Loved it.
Absolutely love it that they gave a medal for your grand daughter too!
At least one of you is having fun! Glad to see how humbling it was running with the extra weight. As someone who's gone from 130kg to currently 93kg and haved used running to help me get there. I have found your content inspiring over the last 18 months I've been watching your videos! Keep up the good work.
Nice weight loss-almost 40 kg is a huge difference
Weight on the scale is 298 lbs this morning. Thanks for making these videos, Mark; they are a godsend. I've been struggling with obesity my whole life: swinging dozens or hundreds of pounds. I have known what it takes to stay in shape for 10 years, but either a lack of courage or a lack of self worth has always seen me back in the Mcdonalds drive through ignoring this life ruining, and eventually fatal, problem of my own health. I've cobbled together a modest, but consistent and reasonably paced fitness and nutrition plan, and I'm tracking everything by pen and paper. I look forward to watching more of your videos this December at a much more reasonable 215-200 lbs.
Good luck 👍🏼 inspiring to hear that people are so motivated from watching these 🙏
I was a massive 475Lbs when I started my weight loss journey. I’m not 350 but when I carry my big weights up and down the stairs I’m reminded how much everything hurt before I started getting fitter. Thanks for the inspirational video
Your granddaughter looks like she's having the time of her life back there!
quick thank you Mark for all the entertainment once again throughout 2022, been with you since the early days of trying to win a bet with the kids to reach 10k subs and look at you now, bloody awesome and credit to you, take care and see you in 2023 for more adventures
Thanks for sticking around🤣
Great inspiration mate, I’m on my current fitness journey & look forward to being able to do challenges like this!
I absolutely get this. When I turned 40 I bet a colleague that I could still run a mile in under 6 minutes. I failed. Afterwards, I said to another colleague that I couldn’t understand it. “I could go under 5 minutes when I was 15 years old!” She looked at me pityingly and said “how much do you think you weighed when you were 15?” Doh.
Yep - my mile at 208 is 5:11 - like this is would be 10:11 🤣
Loved this Mark, really good fun video. Have a great Christmas and all the best to you and your clan for 2023.
Bless - I think she enjoyed your hard work! Merry xmas to you, Jenna and the family. You've certainly created some smiles in 2022 😊
Nice to see some running content again Mark! You got me into doing Parkruns, and I have managed to improve a lot this year. Happy Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas Mark. Still love the content and don't miss a video. Keep them coming and all the best for the new year.
Always love your videos Mark. Your granddaughter looked like she really enjoyed that run, especially the sprint finish.
Mark, first off I absolutely love your videos. Perfect balance of insightful information and comedy. I'm new to running and have also been on a weight loss journey currently 50lbs down from 288 in April of this year. It's equally inspiring to know that you also came from a similar background as myself. Thanks for all you do and continue to do, you're truly an inspiration! Have a Merry Christmas!
Legend, great inspiration! Loving all the videos.
Talk about forming great memories! Granddaughter will remember this forever! Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
Love all your videos, and this one is next level! Interesting and fun!
CZcamsr + lens cap. Brilliant !!! Solid effort that Mark, Happy Christmas and thanks for laughs and common sense. Im at the weight i was when i was 30, and running some fastish times, im just slower at the short distances now. As you say, the 2hr + half marathoners and 1 hr 10km etc runners are putting in a shift and deserve heaps of respect. Anyone not on the couch all the time is a hero!
Mark. My favorite video of yours!!! I loved it. Keep it up!!
Brilliant humour again Mark. We appreciate your content. It clearly takes a while to produce and the quality shows. Chuckled my way through that one. Merry Xmas to you both.
Thanks, you too
Nice video!🎉🎉. I started my running journey this year in July - fun to watch this video for inspiration
I've enjoyed your videos this year. Happy Christmas to you and your family.
Brilliant, the contrast in emotion between you and your grandchild was priceless.
Another great video. Thanks for the encouragement Mark
All sooooo relatable! I too run off quite warm due to my fat jacket 😂 I’ve been teetering around 110kg for a while now and I’d say I’m fitter, 5k is roughly 32 mins - pb 28 at 100kg and change. Weight counts for so much more than you realise. Thanks again for the content this year, all the best for 2023.
Congratulations man, that's impressive... Looking forward to more inspiration in 2023.
Great videos, thanks for sharing your story. I just started my weight loss journey a year ago with cycling. This year I decided to take up running as well. Never ran over a mile in my life but with your lamp post method I jogged, walked my way through a
5k. It’s all about little goals and accomplishments.
Fantastic video! Merry Christmas
For me this is the most informative video you’ve done - showing in a pretty straightforward way what effect increased weight has on performance - well done. Plus I’ve been worrying all week that you’d be running a baby round the distance, but you were obviously youngsters when it comes to having children.
Great video as always. Showing how much extra weight affects speed wasn't surprising, but was eye-opening to see as an experiment.
I had to clean beer off my keyboard after your closing comment !
What a pleasant experience this video is!
Merry Christmas Mr. Lewis and family :)
Same to you! 😁
Another great video Mark, laughed my head off 😂. I especially loved the Aussie accent attempts. Keep up the great content and well done. What a cute kid, she loved the Berliner Carlisle reverberation through your motion, just need to teach her a song or two. 🤔🤣
I laughed out loud, when you asked to swap over half way through. I enjoy your videos. Motivating, educational and funny.
Thanks Mark, reminded me I need to get back to being more consistent with my own journey.
Your videos have been an inspiration to this American. I first found your channel in mid-March and since then I have been inspired to run my first parkrun, sign up for a 5k in October, and most importantly I'm down 30 pounds with 15 more to go to my goal weight!
Your seriously one of the best fitness CZcams was Ever you deserve Times of millions of subs
6:02 Amazing. This is such a good video, Mark!
Love the Stallone montage. Very funny as usual and I am jealous you can pull that off running the whole time.
"Youtubing Grandad crushes man to death at Santa Race" is a GREAT headline. I'd read on...
agreed - I'm a little bit disappointed that this video wasn't titled with that headline
lens cap had me laughing pretty hard. Merry Christmas sir, thanks for the motivation/entertainment/tips/all things fitness.
I spent about an hour trying to work out why the audio was good, but the video was blamed on the computer before I watched the other footage and realised I could see the cap was on!!!
Inspirational, thanks Mark. I'm 11 weeks post natal & 10 days off a tendinitis injury. You & your channel have kept me motivated during that time. I just ran my first 5k in 2 weeks at my fastest 33:53...training for a 10k in June & would love to get around the 1hr4min mark
Tremendous video Mark. Great message based on your experience, comedy duo for the sponsor, two Stallone movies, Josh "moist in the middle" and The Duck Pond 🙌😎
Lewis video BINGO!
Great content Mark.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays Mark!
Same to you!
Her big smile is so sweet as youre running ❤️❤️
Chuffed to see you mentioned in Coach Greg's top 10 fitness influencers. Always entertaining, hilarious, but also great advice
Excellent Mark!
The giggling in the background really was the best soundtrack for your suffering.
Thanks for the fun vid Mark! Ohh the memories of Being overweight…! All the best Bro!👍
Mark, You're always one of the most down-to-earth and encouraging guys in the fitness world. My whole family enjoys your videos.
Merry Christmas, from some of your fans in the United States!
Thanks 🙏 merry Christmas 🎄
"I look forward to seeing his CZcams video" said the lady at the finish haha :D
Minor celeb! 😁
Mark and Joshua’s Australian SqaureSpace commercial should be used by them on every platform. This channel is the best.
ha! It was our last one, we are doing no sponsored videos next year - so glad we ended in style! 🤣
You never disappoint me with your videos. Still haven’t got over the making toast with a bike😂
I recently lost a few KG’s and finally ran 5 Km’s in under 30 minutes, your video’s are a great inspiration to me! Have a great christmas and new year 💪🏼
Nice work!
Entertaining as usual Mark, run looked pretty painful but your granddaughter's giggles made it funny, just wondered, have you done a sprint triathlon, I am sure you could encourage many people to have a go at what seems to be a fairly easy and enjoyable way into a different discipline. I am putting my toe in the water in '23, the Boundary Breeze sprint triathlon in Cheshire:)
Great video! Your granddaughters reactions are just priceless. I wondered if all the movement was going to make her a but errrm queasy 😂 but she was just perfect all the way through. Thanks for the explanation of the camera. Thought for a moment you’d wired your granddaughter up to a hi-power radio transmitter…😂 Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 😊 ….oh and I love that Grinch t-shirt. Just found out where it came from….no stock. Bah humbug. 😂
Love to see this video. I'm sitting over 300 lbs and starting my journey. Unfortunately, I hurt my knee when I started running, and the doctor says I need an MRI before I run again. Fortunately I'm cleared to bike and swim, so I set up my indoor trainer for the winter. Keep posting, I love your video's and use them as great inspiration!
Love your video's Mark
Informative
inspiring
and humorous
You saying this is horrible followed by the giggle of your luggage was superb 😂
Halfway the video I'm rooting for you to beat one of my only two timed 5km runs of a bit over 37 minutes. Go Gramps ❤
And my running shoes are shouting they want more than walking the dog.
Great video!
I can relate a lot to this. I dropped 70lbs from 240lbs - 170lbs. I was always the guy over heating, summers were torture. The downside now being winters are a torture, I lost my insulation and am always cold. PS your neighbours must think you’re a mad man lol.
You can always put on an extra jumper to warm up - when you are sweating 24/7 in the summer, you can't solve that 😂😂😂
New star of your channel!
Merry Christmas! I think the contraption needs a ladder so your passenger can climb up to take off the camera cap😂
Lovely bit of stand up at the end😂
you make even the sponsor plug bit enjoyable!
Did my first 5k at 326lbs on Valentine’s Day 2022, just today weighed in at 208lbs and biking an imperial century tomorrow
Similar stats to me! Nice going!
@6:25 😂 it's halfway shall we swap over? Killer line
Thank you Mark, this was a brilliant idea. 🙏🙏🙏❤️
I love watching your videos they have so much humor in them but also some really good experience advice. I have been a runner since middle school always like to do long distance. I am now 57. I'm about 40 lb overweight because of a break and running. My goal is to get back to my regular weight at 160. I'm a 5 ft 10 Grandma. But I don't like where I am right now. So watching you run with the extra weight makes me understand a little bit better about why I'm still kind of slow. So I'm on my journey to lose 40 lb and maybe make a PR at my next half marathon.
That kid on your back is the happiest I've seen in a while - good job on the race.
Great stuff!
Your granddaughter is hilarious! HOHOHO Merry Christmas!
Hi Mark, very nice vid! Still riding on Zwift? Really enjoyed those videos too. Greets from Belgium
Haha finally an advert I can sit through!
Joshua needs a toothpaste *ching* added when he smiles 😁
Love it!
"Ho-Ho-Ho! Merry Christmas!!!" She's so precious!
Sounds like she learned from Jenna's "no pain" coaching style with those evil giggles🤣👍🏻
Hahaha this is a fantastic video! Though i vote that your grandkid does the commentary next time, seems like she had a lot of valuable contributions that went unacknowledged here 😉
Always love your videos mark, great content my friend. Merry Christmas, aside from the allure of non vegan temptations 😂
Lucky to have a (relatively) local parkrun doing Christmas and New Years days so I am looking forward to knocking them off my challenges. But after a few months of being ill I doubt I'll hit a PB. Oh well - ho ho ho! 🎅
As always your an inspiration.
I am in the process of losing weight.
I'm cycling every day. 10km to 20km per day.
125kg now 106kg.
Long way to go want to be under 90kg and ultimately 75kg.
Thanks for your vids
Totally missed out on the elf outfit for the little one! What no snacks?!?! AND... I do pack runs too (sans mini-Santa). They really do make a horrible difference....
The Master Blaster reference is on point!
Not very xmas though 😁
