Tobacco Road - North Carolina Golf Course Review - The Boss Golfs

Tobacco Road is getting one of my highest ratings as a Must Play Golf Course. An experience like nothing else in the country, Tobacco Road must be played to be fully understood. Located in Sanford, NC it is a short drive from many of the best courses in North Carolina and in the country, with Pinehurst and the Mid Pines Courses just down the street. Similar to the previously reviewed Royal New Kent, it is a Mike Stantz design. The course is grand with sizable elevation changes and classic sandbelt terrain but what makes this course stand out is the layout. The course is built to change your concepts of how a course can be played. Often what looks like the obvious landing area is not the optimum line to the green and rather the blind shot or sloping hill is the best target area. I highly recommend you add Tobacco Road to any trip in the Sandbelt Region of North Carolina.
