Capilano River Whitewater Run in an Open Canoe at VERY Low Water (3-5 CMS)

  • The Capilano was at about 18 cubic meters per second when we started, but then very rapidly started dropping as the dam got shut off upstream. It was probably down to 3-5 CMS by the end, which resulted in lots of rock bashing, paddling by Braille, and damage to the boat. Probably shouldn’t have done this but it was still very pretty and great creekboating practice. Plus it's hard to bail out of a steep-sided canyon....

    Ha no way! I was the fly fisherman your passed at cable pool asking your about the canoe :) I just bought a canoe and am getting into whitewater canoeing.
