Whatever happened to the retro ppv reviews?? Can you bring it back? It was popular! I like the raw & SD reviews but the retroppv & the amazing countouts you guys used to do + the dirt sheet is what made me subscribe
I mean I still like the channel, but the retro stuff was much more interesting. I'm not interested enough in the current product to watch a raw, smackdown and 205/NXT review every week plus count outs mostly about current wrestling. At least do one show a week dedicated to something old school.
In one of the OSW Review podcasts, Jay Hunter mentioned that no one backstage aside from Jim Ross thought Dizel and Razar would actually work, so they immediately sand bagged it when it debuted, didn't play along at all. This ended not only Dizel and Razar but Jim Ross's ill fated heel-turn also.
If Sting would have switched, it wouldn't have been as big of a splash. People switched over to WCW because he was the antisepsis of the good guy and those that saw his departure from WWE then hear that he is a bad guy, which was unheard of... that was such a big impact.
I'm 33 and I grew up during the Attitude Era.. I never once thought that they were trying to make me think that was the real Diesel and Razor.. it's like they knew we knew, but just were hoping they could get the characters over to shove it up their (Hall & Nash) asses.
The Undertaker turning in American Badass was so TERRIBLE!!! Ministry Taker was my favorite. If he would have just been a biker and not an American flag waving biker, it wouldn't have been so bad.
I don't see why bein' pro American killed the gimmick unless you hate America. I think just goin' from a dead guy to a biker enthusiast is too much of a stretch but it had it's moments.
I don't think he's anti-American. But typically patriotism is highly cheesy when it's in an entertainment setting. It's why foreign heels and pro-America faces are viewed as boring in today's product.
This is a gimmick change list. Big E, Xavier, and Kofi didn't have any gimmicks beforehand. Also the gimmick was terrible for the first couple of months, and it gradually became better (but it wasn't a change in gimmick, just a turn).
If Hogan did not join the NWO it would have died, because he would have saw it get big and then he would be the one to take it down. It would have lasted a handful of months at the most. What about Vince McMahon on the list. He went from face commentator and straight man to the more wild people calling the matches to evil heel boss. He was rarely ever even acknowledged as being the head of the company until that point as well.
