  • Data Analyzers Data Recovery Services put together selection of clicking, grinding, buzzing, beeping noise in this video.
    If you start hearing noises that you’ve never heard before - like clicking, grinding, vibrations, or squealing - your hard drive may be failing. Since a hard drive has moving parts and during its lifetime these parts will undergo normal wear and tear, resulting in a eventual malfunction.
    We would be happy to meet with you and discuss how we can provide you with the ultimate recovery services for your needs.

    My Seagate drive is making a horrible grinding noise today (doesn't help it's from 2013) Smart is yellow on Reallocated sectors, pending sectors, uncorrectable with a high Reported correctable error count.
    I still have my data but it's loading very slowly.

    @xdfunnyguylo8065 Před 2 lety +1

    My seagate drive makes exactly the same sound as the "seagate failure" sound in the video (the first failure sound of the seagate drives), but it still works perfectly fine. It also only makes that noice when I'm playing games from that disk, and it's not a constant noice, it more comes back in a circle like sound (if you get what I mean).

      @@COZY__BOY just got rid of them. the noise was absolutely redicilous under load. my gpu (gigabyte rtx 2070) also has a rattling noise under load because of poor design. luckily for me the rattling noise isn't that bad and 9 out of 10 times is dead silent.

      @@xdfunnyguylo8065 as in tossed them in the bin or got a replacement HDD? Yeah the seagate sound under load is atrocious especially when u connect it to a HDD tray so ur whole PC vibrates too.

    My 1tb toshiba drive sounds kind of like that seagate with failing heads while it is performing tasks. I have run a few utilities that say that my drive is passing SMART but it has a lot of sector reallocations and is supposedly at 20% health. However, the drive is running at perfect performance. Should I replace the drive now or will it last much longer? One utility says there are an estimated 47 days left in the drive's life, however it has been a few days and nothing has changed, I believe that many of the sector reallocations may have occured due to the drive's old age, possible shock damage, and overheating (it has reached 51 degrees max in its history) which from my research won't always lead directly to failure. Could I just be hearing things and it's just the sound of the drive? Or are hard drives normally really quiet? I have only just recently started to pay attention to the sound of the drive, so I may have just never noticed it before...

    • @Dataanalyzers
      @Dataanalyzers  Před 4 lety

      You should actively monitor your hard drive health by keeping an eye on the following critical SMART parameters: Reallocated Sectors Count, Reported Uncorrectable Errors, Command Timeout, Current Pending Sector Count, Uncorrectable Sector Count. You can also monitor hard drive temperature to prevent damage from overheating. Hard drives are quiet devices so any strange noise should make you backup and (or) replace the drive.

    • @pradeepmaharana912
      @pradeepmaharana912 Před 3 lety

      @Sikh Zone first you need to be sure that sound is coming from HDD. In my case when I reduced speed of the fan the sound stopped and increased at max fan speed.. so problem with fan. Install crystal disk info and check drive health. If Ur drive is working fine n u don't see system crashing, blue screen of death etc then HDD is working fine. If HDD has problems n it very OLD then buy a new HDD and transfer all Ur data fast.

    • @pradeepmaharana912
      @pradeepmaharana912 Před 3 lety

      @Sikh Zone call customer care.. they will replace HDD with no extra charges.. but I believe problem is not from HDD. If u can open back panel and run Ur laptop then you would know where the real problem is

      If it's a repeatedly pulsing click then you'll have to take it to a professional; if it's a grinding or gritty noise then your data's doomed my friend.
