My boy Cid (from Final Fantasy XVI) is now Galactus! Really haply for Ralph as he's been great in everything I've seen him in. He was recently also in The First Omen and he was good there too.

He was also in diablo 4 around the same time ff16 came out

I'm replaying Final Fantasy XVI via New Game+ to go through the DLCs as well.
Ralph Ineson voicing Cid from Final Fantasy 16 gives me all the confidence Galactus is in good hands. This is a VERY GOOD casting.

Galactus isn't a villian in the traditional sense. He's actually a necessary constant in the marvel universe.
I can see him as Galactus. A good actor with a great voice, which is very important for a character like Galactus. I think he will do justice to the role.
So, Galactus has a booming, bassy, British voice, good casting.

Galactus absolutely is a character. Im tired of this guy acting like hes this big comic guy when 99% of the time hes just wrong.
I've been watching Ralph Ineson on screen for over 10-15 years in 🇬🇧 & the man has such a deep & unique voice. It is an inspired choice & come on we play villains well. I mean we play heroes well too Christian Bale, Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield etc but can do villainy!!
They’re only bringing Galactus into this film so he can eat their world, forcing them to jump to our marvel 616 universe.
Now, this is great casting
For his character, they could lean harder on his classic origin story for stronger chatacterization. The last surviving member of his previous universe. A man turned/cursed into a perpetually hungry universal constant (God).
Literally couldn’t have cast a better person to play Galactus.

Galactus could be INCREDIBLE
My only concern is that they waste him. He needs to be the main villain of this upcoming era. If they kill him in this new movie I’ll be very underwhelmed

John we had Eternals, we had Ego the living planet, Galactus is just bigger then that. I am excited BUT I really don´t want them to try and make Galactus querky.

I think Galactus can work. Everyone is focusing on The Avengers, Mutants, and The F4. The Celestials have been teased for years. We've seen Ego and Arishem. Feige has teased The One Above All, Nezarr, Eson, and others. They're in the MCU...somewhere. Only two are believed to be dead; the mystery that is the Celestiial Knowhere and Ego (probably, maybe).
I think the move is a Celestials / Avengers / F4 team-up against Galactus.

I think they just lean in to Galactus as Galen, the man he was before Galactus. They can create a parallel between him and Reed, but as Galen the scientist who's become a monster doing what is necessary vs Reed torn between being cold and calculating and being a family man.
He was also Finchy in the UK Office
Given the current state of the MCU, I'd be quite happy to see Galactus eat the whole planet.
Live action Galactus is not a ridiculous idea, he can adjust his size like Apocalypse, so they could do face to face scenes with him and the FF.
Which btw was the thing that made the Celestials in Eternals not work. Turns out no face space giants talking to normal sized people equals lame.
I love his voice acting as Lorath in the Diablo franchise.

Ralph Ineson sounds a lot like the late Tony Jay who voiced him in Fantastic Four: The Animated Series. He really has that same deep booming voice and of course English actors are king of giving exposition dialogue.
Shakespeare really runs on the Brits.
Tony Jay had the superior voice.
I don’t know if having Galactus in the first movie is a good idea but it looks like they’re really embracing the whole comicbooky aspect of Fantastic Four. I think the problem with the Fantastic Four movies is that they were embarrassed to be comic book movies. Every one of those films always tried to ground the Fantastic Four and stay away of the cosmic elements that people wanted to see. Reading these news does show that Kevin Feige and Marvel want to bring that whole cosmic world to life and that’s a really good start.
I think after the brilliant portrayals of outlandish comic book villains like Ego The Living Planet, Hela, Namor, Mysterio, and Vulture, now is the perfect time to bring Galactus to the big screen...without making him a space cloud, of course 🤭
obviously, how much "character" Galactus has is up to the writers. If you are an old fart like me you remember Galactus's origin story from an old Thor comic. He is not a villain out to destroy worlds for fun. He was part of a race much like us but far more advanced. Their own sun was dying so he joined a group that flew a suicide roket into the dying star. That, of course, killed all of his comrades, but somehow made him a Cosmic Being. he needs the energy of "Living" worlds to survive. The Silver Surfer was created to find worlds he could devour. So a lot depends on how far the writers go. Galactus can be a sympathetic character if presented that way.

You’re wrong about Galactus. He’s a character not just a consequence. He’s not an emotionless guy like the Celestials. Clearly you’ve never read any comic book that involves Galactus.
I don’t think that’s what he’s saying, he saying he’s worried that’s what they will make him in live action because he’s worried it won’t translate well from comics. He’s not saying he’s like that in comics I don’t think

I think all I hope for is that they don't burn Galactus right away. He could be the villain sure, but don't waste him and allow him to stick around to return later.
My guess would be that Galactus wins, we know there is a multiverse aspect to the film and presumably the end point is that they end up in the main universe, one reason that might happen is if their Earth is eaten so he could hang around and be a upcoming villian in the main universe and FF motivation to build a team and join Avengers to prepare.
This guy has a great Baritone voice.

My theory is that this movie does take place in a different universe and the movie ends with galactus destroying their earth with the 4 barely escaping and landing in "our" universe

In Moon Knight, other than the Von D cupcake( later explained not to be Von Doom) we have the Bavarian type local with the stone castle in the background as a possible reference to Dr. Doom and his castle Doom!

You use this FF movie for the exposition needed for Galactus and then Galactus wins and the audience understands the threat he poses in the main MCU when he appears there

Fantastic 4 is set in 60’s in a another universe. Galactis can be coming for that world, and that is why we get a female surfer shes the herold of that universe. Not ours. …. Galactis destroys that world but the Fantastic 4 will escape somehow into our world or into a battle world type universe

The movie is said to take place in a different universe where Galactus attempts to save the universe by consuming Earth to prevent a collision between the Fantastic Four's Earth and another. However, Reed Richards may ultimately face a dilemma and universal catastrophe because of his lack of trust in Galactus. This is all speculation at this point.

That I can believe; everyone complaining it’s too early for Galactus and there no build up. My guess is that it’s just his introduction. And in a way maybe this is what gives a reason for Galactus to come to Earth

The MCU is so weird now with its story, like are we supposed to be focused on kang or are we just saying f him and now focusing on a different villain? Plus now apparently Loki defeated kang and is now the ruler of time but kang is apparently still around and is a threat?
Phases 1-3 did the best at building up thanos and it payed off so well

Oh, it can be done. You just have to have a good script. That’s gonna go off of the original story maybe quite a bit all you have to do is have him be a survivor previous universe and now you have a fantastic Multiverse story. He doesn’t even have to be a world maybe he’s just trying to collect enough energy to go back to the universe, somehow doesn’t have to be 8000 feet tall and more powerful than the entire planet
He has a great voice for it.

Since the FF movie is taking place in another universe I’m willing to bet the house that Galactus is going to show up and destroy earth. Uatu will then show up and bring the FF into the main MCU universe.
With the reports that this will be set in an entirely different universe, and the F4 will end up in the main one by the end of the film, then I think Galactus in the first film is a good idea. I think whats going to happen is Galactus will destroy their world, which sets him up as a big bad perfectly because you can see how much of a threat he is, and the F4 will be trying to figure out ways to stop him in our world
Nah can’t make the mistake of making him so huge and has to be live action /motion capture at least for when he’s not devouring worlds he can make himself bigger regular size he needs to be at least just bit bigger than Thanos.

This announcement could just be a red herring. Maybe Galactus just makes a cameo in the film. How does the Hollywood Reporter know that Galactus is the antagonist. Do they have the screenplay? Probably not.
good god, of course hes not going to be the one they fight, they are fighting the silver surfer and terrax. Galactus is just going to show up at the end to eat their planet before they are pulled out of their universe for secret wars.

Here’s the problem with “they wind do Galactus” at least not yet. They also planned on putting him in 2 - 3 movies we have concept art of at least a these are not simply rumors. They have been trying to put him in for quite a while now.
Should they? That’s a completely different discussion and I agree with John it would be better if they wait, but science this is an Alt dimension/world we probably won’t get him right away in the 616 depending on reception.

Galactus has been to alternate universes before. So it doesn't matter all that much. They could have the Fantastic Four lose their home reality to him.

When I heard H.E.R.B.I.E. was going to be in this movie my first thought was this is going to be more ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! But if they stay away from trying to be comedic/funny and the character is like some SERIOUS JACK KIRBY TECH I can see it working. But if this movie is going to go in the comedic/funny direction, then yes it will be ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! The FF4 should be a SERIOUS HARDCORE COSMIC EPIC, absolutely no funny stuff!
