    There was a Marvel story which explained that Galactus fed on sentient sustaining planets because they held a celestial egg at the core and he's actually partly culling celestials from over-running the universe...I like him as a character would love to see him in phase 4 or 5 of MCU

    I just wanna point out that he doesn’t need planets with sentient life, that’s why the Silver Surfer and some of the other heralds were created, to help big G find planets suitable for consumption, the fact that they occasionally had sentient beings occupying them was incidental. Galactus created the heralds to save lives by warning and ushering the native inhabitants off world before he even got there.

      Hell yes! Me too!!

    • @MaxSMoke777
      @MaxSMoke777 Před rokem +12

      Unicron is a planet. I'm guessing, maybe, roughly Earth size, right? You can fit 330,000 Earth's into our Sun. Our sun is just a star. A regular, old star, average size.
      Galactus has the power of multiple galaxies. A galaxy, on average, has 100 Billion stars. That's 100,000,000,000 written out.
      So.... Unicron is not even a fart in hurricane compared to Galactus.
      Unicron is the lice that rides on top of the flea that is biting the elephant that is Galactus on the butt. Actually, at 100,000,000,000 multiplied by roughly 330,000, times "several galaxies", that would make Galactus over a 100 TRILLION TIMES MORE POWER. So that's more then 100,000,000,000,000 more power.
      So Unicron is something like a molecule, inside a bacteria, on the outside of the shell of a lice, that is riding a flea, that is in the feathers of a seagull, that has just landed on top of the largest WHALE in the world. Can you now grasp how much less Unicron is then Galactus?

    • @darrenbent7601
      @darrenbent7601 Před rokem +11

      @@MaxSMoke777 You know that both of these are fictional characters, right? what's to say, seeing as they are both made up by some clever writers, that the rules that you are steadfast holding on to, could be rewritten, so that my theory could also be true?
      If you know anything about Transformers (which I guess you don't) You will know that Unicron is a multidimensional being. Yes, he is a planet, but he is a carnivorous planet that appears in more than one dimension at the same time. There are (according to the comics and TV series) literally infinite versions of Unicron, and all of them are the same, but they are also slightly different to each other too, but they share a conciseness. So, by destroying one, others can take its place. And what's to say that Unicron is not another version of these? They both devour planets, do they not?

    In my opinion, Galactus definitely doesn't inherently have bones skin and blood. He definitely only had it during the fight with Thor because he changed his physiology into that of a human. If he went to Klyntar and took the physiological form of a symbiote i'm sure he'd also have the weaknesses to fire and sound in that form the same way he has bones that can be broken when he's in human form. I always thought it was pretty explicitly stated that he's essentially just a huge mass of cosmic energy. I doubt he'd secretly have bones and blood. That'd just open the door to him being able to have blood, bone and skin born illnesses which he just doesn't get, assumedly bc he's all energy. if/when we get real confirmation that he does i will be back to apologize.

He consumes planets because otherwise he dies, and according to many "marvel gods" - Galactus must continue to exist because he is an important piece of the chessboard that is the universe.
    When the FF4 with the Avengers was close to killing Galactus, Reed Richards was approached by these gods in a psycic vision, they showed him that Galactus was too important to kill - and thus , Reed Richards persuaded the rest of the heroes to spare Galactus.

      @SaintSpecter Před rokem +2

      @@alanguages There are several debates about its nature, but the TOAA is a representation of the writer’s will. As in, the writer who writes the comic from our real world. So whatever happens in any Marvel-related media canonically happens because TOAA wills/allows it. Thanos absorbing it happens because it allowed it, and had it served the story, it would have taken away all the powers that Thanos thought he had acquired. It didn’t because TOAA exists outside of the concept of time and was already aware of how the story would play out (since the writer was) and just played along, even if the canon may contradict this.
      TOAA is an entity that cannot be defeated by any force originating from the comic universe. A writer can have Aunt May beat it to a pulp with a baseball bat, but unless Aunt May walks right out of the comic into the real world with a baseball bat to beat the shit out of the Marvel staff (which would raise a whole different set of questions), then this will not be an instance of Aunt May beating TOAA.

    There is one question Id really like to know the answer of that I think the video should adress in an update. I would like to know how often does Galactus need to eat ? Once a year ? Once a month .. its never been specified ... I understand that he is always hungry but theres got to be a time when he is sated .. even for a day or so. Any ideas ?

    • @stevenbryant9097
      @stevenbryant9097 Před rokem +1

      In one particular comic book it was established that one to two planets a month would just barely sustain him from going mad with hunger. Now the key word is (sustain), take us for example (humans) we can be starving for close to a week and a tiny sandwich could probably keep us from dying from hunger, however we could probably eat a bakers dozen (13) worth of sandwiches or more. The key thing about the big G is the reason why he's always hungry and never satisfied is he could probably eat a couple of dozen or more planets. And in marvel comics I don't think it's ever been established if he's ever been full/sustained truly because there's never been a universe with that many planets close to each other. Now I might be wrong cause I'm sure there's bunches of comics that I've never read, and I'm sure there's plenty of comic nerds out there that's way more informed than me. But anyway, I hope that gives you somewhat of an answer to your question. And believe it or not there's a whole lot of people that's asked that same question over the years, me including.

    It was mentioned that Galactus is vulnerable to certain forms of magic...At one point (during the same story-arc in which Reed Richards saved Galactus' life) Dr. Strange used a magic spell on Galactus that caused him to remember & feel the deaths of every single being that Galactus had devoured over the course of time...Simultaneously. Strange used that spell when Galactus was otherwise attending to other super-beings that were attacking him physically (yeah, pretty useless but still potentially distracting), so Galactus was caught off guard by the mental shock.

      So he basically did a spell version of the penance stare on Galactus? It is a magical power and strange should be able to conjure it without ghost rider powers or maybe he gave himself ghost rider powers for the moment.

    • @MidnightDStroyer
      @MidnightDStroyer Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@DeathBYDesign666 It should be noted that Galactus had just finished defending the Earth from a different threat. The only reason Galactus agreed to it was because Reed Richards rescinded the vow that kept Earth safe from Galactus' hunger. After Galactus saved the Earth, he was literally starving for energy & decided to consume Earth. That was when Earth's heroes had to fight him & when Dr. Strange used that spell. It's still not certain that the spell would have worked on Galactus if he was still at his normal strength/power level.

      @@MidnightDStroyer Actually Galactus has been observed to by greatly proficient in the ability to control magical power, he had absorbed most of the dark Dimension before it caused a destabilizing of the laws of physics in which Galactus has control over through his power cosmic or whatever. He isn't as vulnerable to magic as he is susceptible to its influence on him, it can't actually hurt him otherwise. That was a cool story btw, we actually got to see a version of Galactus and dormammu merged together and it was badass honestly.

    I was nevr a comic reader and I love all these videos and even reddit/quora threads that go more in depth (especially on Galactus and the Beyonder). But in this one near the beginning where he said that as the 6th MV was collapsing he was obsorbed into the "embodiment of the MV" but it was referred to as "fiery" which sounds more like the Phoenix Force than Enternity. Maybe its just me but it seems possible as the PF is the embodiment of all psionic energy that "does, ever has and ever will exist". I thought Eternity was the embodiment of time/existence?
    Can Galactus go toe to toe with the Tribunal though? And does he pre-date the Celestials?
