I have 2. They're quite a joy, but don't get too excited around them or move too quickly unless you've already gained their trust. They're very sensitive and flighty. I heard about little kids running up to the bird cages and putting their hands against the wire quickly and scaring the finches to death! Literally! They said it happens all the time. Make sure to let em know you're not a threat and they'll start eating around you, preening themselves, and even let you put your hands around the cage without caring, which usually makes these birds apprehensive, especially when mating
They love to bathe, give them clean water every day. You can even spritz them.
How long when the babies fledge you can take away the nest
I never took away the nest since all the finches were using the nest to rest or sleep.
you can take it in around 60 days but I would recommend wait a bit longer so ~75 days

Caging birds...my birds have their own room, not caged. Birds need flying around, at least a bit.
Yes absolutely ! I want to have a planted aviary for mine ,but not possible rn as it's too hot and too cold (ranging from 0 in winters to 50 in summers)
