  • Even if you're not a gun owner, you might want to start stocking up on these calibers of ammunition. You can use it for barter, currency, financial investment, hunting, home defense, personal protection, etc. These calibers are some of the most commonly used and purchased by most people. .22LR, 9mm, .223 / 5.56, .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmor, and 12 gauge shotgun ammunition are some of the most commonly owned firearms and ammunition calibers today.
In this video Kyoshi Dave Herman of Five Elements Tactical Training, shares with you 5 common calibers that you should be stockpiling right now, even if you don't own guns. From a emergency preparedness, or Prepper, perspective, there are countless. SHTF scenarios where, ammunition can be used as a method of trade or currency. WROL, SHTF, scenarios, not just the post apocalyptic world... but even in times of civil unrest, break down of society, when food, fuel, and other everyday items are hard to come by. Food shortages, supply supply disruptions, fuel shortages, hyperinflation, economic collapse, to name just a few.
Bug out bags, get home bags, go bag, survival kit, all should include some ammunition, either for firearms you own, or for barter along the way, when you bug out, and head for safety.
Five Elements Tactical Training focuses on Self Defense, Home Defense; firearms safety, marksmanship, and tactics, emergency and disaster preparedness, survival skills, and the Warrior Mindset... for beginners, intermediate students, and coaches and instructors alike.
Please pass on this information with your family and friends.
    Stay safe out there, Warriors.

I may be out to lunch but one thing I won't use as a barter item is ammunition. Whatever I have I will keep. I will barter such things as: water, water filtration devices (lifestraws etc.), food, alcohol, medical supplies (bandages, otc meds, etc.), Bic lighters (every prepper should have several hundred), coffee, my skills - eg. teach someone to find and purify water in exchange for something I want or need, cannabis, condoms, sanitary pads... the list goes on and on.
Weapons and ammo I will keep for myself. But, hey, if someone wants to trade ammo for stuff I have.. I'm down with that.
Still - another good video well executed, Kyoshi. It's critical to be familiar with firearms in a SHTF environment. I would also recommend that folks look into archery... it can be absolutely deadly and is deadly silent too.

My dad is an x marine fire arms instructor from the late 50s through the 60s and was lucky enough to find one for sale a few years back just like the one he carrried back then.. Me I shoot a 30.06 long distance bolt action rifle. 30.8 is the little brother to the 30.06 power wise like the 30.06 is the little brother to the 300 win mag.
