      Thanks for the note! More vids on the way for sure! I’m afraid it might be awhile because there’s almost no snow at all in Sudbury, and we have rain forecast for this week!

    Good video. Idk if youre aware, audio cut out for a good portion in the middle of video. Critical info missed out on. Thanks for these. Just got a 2023 skandic 600 efi.

      Yeah, sorry about that, the background music caused a problem with youtube, and my options were to remove the video, or just mute the portion with the song. Not ideal.

    I had been patiently awaiting for this video 😁. Just picked up my 2022 Expedition from AE, and can't wait for the trails to open.

    • @mop1471
      @mop1471  Před 2 lety +2

      Personally, I don’t think I can wait any longer, so I’m going to head down to Moonlight beach to play around this afternoon.
      If you see me on the trail (orange pants / blue jacket), make sure to flag me down: I’d like to get some video of my 2021 next to a 2022 to document the differences!
      FYI: your new 2022 shouldn’t need any maintenance until end of season. Just top off your fuel & oil, then hit the trail!

    Very informative and some good reminders here in your content. How has the cooling functioned on this model without a rad I will assume?

      The Expedition Sport used the narrow bodywork for 2021, so no rad. In low snow conditions, the temperature would creep up and trigger a warning after about 2 hrs of riding. Pulling off to the side of the trail and picking up some powder would resolve it right away.

      My old Summit used to do the same thing; too much trail riding and I’d have to put it into the pow to cool it down. I put a temp gauge into the cluster to better monitor over the red light.
      I think the Expedition Sport is a great choice for one of skidoos best all around value sleds. Just needs the rad IMO.

    • @mop1471
      @mop1471  Před 2 lety +1

      Thankfully, the ‘Sport’ gauge cluster includes a temperature gauge. Over the course of the season, I learned to manage the heat and almost never have to stop to let it cool anymore. Ice scratchers helped too: m.czcams.com/video/Rs1hykh4pYU/video.html

    thank for this AWSOME VIdeo.... I have the 2022 Ski Doo Expedition Sport 600 EFI, question related to charging the battery , on your video and also on my machine as well, there looks to be a Charing Tether you can use to charge battery ? Is that what it is or is that for something different ?

    • @mop1471
      @mop1471  Před 8 měsíci

      That 2-pin connector is the rear passenger heated grips wiring harness. The Expedition Sport includes the harness from the factory, but does not include the rear heated grips. Since the harness was factory installed, rear heated grip installation was made easier than it otherwise would have been!

    Great.l got sound on most of the video but around the middle of the video l lost your volume.Hope to see new video in fall. Can you resolve a problem with my 600 efi. sport expedition.The ski doo tips over at slow speeds. On a hard packed trail if you run up the hard packed edges it will tip. If I am on a back trail and get to close to the deep snow either side of trail the ski doo will tip over.

    • @mop1471
      @mop1471  Před rokem +1

      My Expedition was shipped with all suspension adjustments set to the 'softest' settings (the least pre-load.) Try tightening up your front spring pre-load. You'll need to use the suspension adjustment wrench on the clutch cover. Adjust it just 1 or 2 clicks at a time, then test ride it. I found the snowmobile much less prone to tipping with the front springs adjusted tighter. I settled on a setting of 4 out of 5 on the left and right front springs (that's 1 click from the highest pre-load on the front.) Leave the rear springs as soft as possible (only increase the rear spring preload if you're bottoming out.)
      For me, this dramatically improved handling, stability and reduced darting.

    Hi, XPS semi-sintetique oil are allowed on the 600 efi engine. Have you used it? Or only full sintetic?

    • @mop1471
      @mop1471  Před rokem +1

      I've only ever used XPS full synthetic. My owner's manual specifies only XPS, so, presumably it would work with the blend - but consult your owner's manual and/or dealer to be sure.

  • @riverrivers250
    @riverrivers250 Před 3 měsíci +1

    You ever use any other oils for the skidoo? Like different brands other then XPS fuel synthetic,,, like blue coloured 2T snowmobile oil

    • @mop1471
      @mop1471  Před 3 měsíci +2

      I only go through 1 or 2 jugs a season, so I choose to use the Ski-Doo XPS oil recommended by my dealer. My son uses 2-stroke oil from Canadian Tire and it seems to work fine too, but it’s only a few bucks cheaper than XPS oil.

    Where would I boost it ? If my battery died

    • @mop1471
      @mop1471  Před rokem +1

      It's a bit more work than I'd like, but not too bad: Pull the seat off (no tools required, just pop the two front friction fasteners by hand.) Then remove the two battery cover screws (torx driver is included in the sled's tool kit, on the belt cover) then you have access to boost or charge the battery.
      I've been considering adding an externally accessible charge / boost port on the battery cover. If I go through with it, I'll post it here!

    • @percyhudson6328
      @percyhudson6328 Před rokem +1

      @@mop1471 thanks I found it and managed to boost it, would you recommend removing the battery to charge ? Of course taking off the positive and negative terminals before doing so.. its winter atm and just asking if I should remove to charge inside or outside 😅

    • @mop1471
      @mop1471  Před rokem +1

      If you have any reason to think the battery could catch fire during charging, then remove it and replace it with new. If there's no reason to think it could catch fire, then there's no reason not to charge it in the sled.
      Ski-Doo does recommend, in the owner's manual, that you disconnect the battery, negative terminal first, before charging the battery. Personally, the one time I had to charge mine, I didn't disconnect it, but I was just using a very small 1A charger that wouldn't wreck anything in the electrical system.
