    How do you lower the flower rate "1 bump"? Is it in "bumps" in your slicer? Could you give us your working print settings?

    • @TwoMooseDesign
      @TwoMooseDesign  Před 4 měsíci

      You can do it on the displays as it’s printer or in your slicer. A “bump” isn’t a real term lol it’s a few %. It’s also going to vary on the exact filament and color you use. Run the calibrations in your preferred slicer. I typically just run max flow rate test in orca.

    • @stew675
      @stew675 Před 5 měsíci +1

      You have the older revision of the Qidi. The newer ones which have been shipping since mid-November have updated print heads that solve the clogging issues, and just better part cooling overall. Also has an inductive level sensor instead. What's odd is that Qidi keep sending the old versions to CZcamsrs to review when they have had the newer models for almost 4 months now.

      In fact, I think I saw something about QIDI already posted on their ins channel last October. Maybe it's not that QIDI has been sending older versions to creators, but rather that this content was posted so far from the time it was received on the machine.🤔🤔🤔@@stew675

    • @TwoMooseDesign
      @TwoMooseDesign  Před 3 měsíci

      You can do it on the display in advanced settings while printing but it doesn’t stay. You have to do it in the slicer. You can adjust it in orca and creality print. I set mine to -.04 i believe.

    Excellent video! I have both machines, and my only complaint with the k1 max has been the bed. It is so warped that im tired of dealing with bad first layers. I emailed creality last week to see if they will resolve the issue. I have only had it a couple of months. They still have not responded. Other than that, i love it. Have it rooted and use orca. The only complaint i have so far with the xmax 3 is the filament sensor, stoping long prints for no reason and loose bolts. I had loose bolts on the print head and on the frame. Good machine other than those small things. Thanks for the vid, you got a new subscriber.

      We seem to have the same complaints hahah but I do think they are both good printers each with their own downsides. I have about 50 hours into the k1C and it’s been great actually. It could be the smaller bed or they updated something but the first layer has been far better.

      I was about to comment the same thing on the k1 max. I've tried everything under the sun to make it level and can only get it to a variance of .56 on bed mesh.I have both as well but I don't have any of the QIDI issues you have. Also my QIDI has a variance of .1 which is nuts.

    Just a heads up the k1 received and update a few weeks ago that now let's you adjust z height, flow and do a nozzle pid. It is in settings and in expert mode. You are also able to now change the speed as well. So look for the update. Or can root you k1 like others have said and have control over all of it. I rooted mine a Ling time ago. I also leveled the bed. The k1 max should have the same updates

      I've seen mixed reviews on Sunlu and many out there on Amazon. The Eibos company seems to have way fewer bad reviews! As for the XMAX3.
      My plans are not to use the filament box on the back. I'm just going to put a fitting and tube in the chamber entry point and put a dryer on the side. Eibos (for the money) seems to be the best option for several reasons: They seem to have better air flow around the roll and they have an exit point that's positioned better for the XMAX3. Screw it.. Why don't I just design a better dryer box? One that routes airflow thru ducts around the filament while it's feeding into the printer instead of just in one place? 🤔

      I HIGHLY recommend the sunlu S4 filament dryer! It takes 4 rolls of 1 kg spools, or 2 of the 2 kg spools! It has full fan circulation inside, filtering out all the moisture that comes out of the filaments... and it takes 4 rolls at once! Finally someone listened to us. Having a room full of single roll filament dryers is a massive pain in the arse. And it runs up that electric bill in a biden DISGUSTING AF economy that he destroyed. No Bueno, no Bueno at all, lol. But yeah, man, sunlu S4 allll day my friend.

The only printer I consider better is a voron, but thats only if you actually know how to properly build one. I've been printing since the original ultimaker came out many years ago. One thing I've learned is that most of the issues people have are user error. Im even guilty of it with over a decade of 3d printing lol.

    Seems like QIDI did have some issues with their initial shipments of the X Max 3, which they have now remedied. 3 months ago I bought two X Max 3’s to run PAHT CF jobs (110 build plate, 280 nozzle temp). I’ve run every filament through them, and run PAHT CF for hundreds of hours on each one and not a clog, and not one issue. They’ve been a dream. Always a good first layer, and amazing print quality. Im getting tired of waiting for bambu to even just announce what the next gen printer they are going to offer will have. Speculation is a larger build volume, but knowing bambu im betting the first in the new flagship printer will be build volume identical to the x and p series and the larger build volume will come later. Having been without a large build volume printer for approaching a year im seriously considering the Qudi xmax 3 for 2 reasons, build volume and active heated chamber. I print a lot in ABS and ASA and in the winter I have to pre heat my bambu printers with the bed for a while just to be able to start a print even though im im a fully enclosed and climate controlled work space. Ive also occasionally had issues with maintaining chamber temps with the bambu printers. I could add a chamber heater and still may but the biggest issue is the parts i have to cut up to print in the bambu printers. Im still leary of any of the new crop of printer though and i know from seeing the K1 max and its issues at freinds houses and shop I will not be buying one of those. But im afraid the Qudi will have its own issues I dont want to deal with either. A bed slinger also isnt an option as I dont want the print mass moving.

    • @TwoMooseDesign
      @TwoMooseDesign  Před 4 měsíci

      I would love! A massive Bambu or a new generation of printers! If you print a lot of high temp stuff I would buy the qidi as it has a thick print bed that is twice as thick as the k1 max. The thin bed likes to warp especially at high bed temps. Both printers have their ups and downs but both are pretty good overall. The heated chamber in colder temps would be amazing and k1 max doesn’t have that. I personally haven’t had many issues with the Qidi. I had an electrical interference issue a few times and support sent me a new cable to get rid of that. The K1 max is great but the dang bed is my biggest complaint. Other than some sub par first layers it’s prints beautifully.

    QIDI X Max 3 was the first current-gen printer I bought. Since then I've bought 3 Bambus, a Kobra 2 Max and a K1 Max. If I had to rank them I'd say Bambus first, K1 Max a close second, Kobra 2 Max a distant third and QIDI dead last. I've had so much trouble with the QIDI that it is now sitting in my shop, unplugged and collecting dust. I'm thinking about bringing it back inside and giving it another try after a couple of months, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I liked. Yeah the spooler sucks but that's easily fixed. The biggest design flaw is the manual z-height adjustment and the BL touch. My biggest complaint is clogs and failed prints. By comparison, my K1 Max has been almost Bambu-like in it's reliability. It is currently behind me, 14.5 hours into a 33 hour print. The Kobra 2 is broken (again).
