  • A new audit revealed that California officials have failed to adequately monitor the outcomes of the billions of dollars spent on tackling homelessness in the state.
According to the report from the California State Auditor’s Office, a state council created to oversee the homelessness programs being funded by the state has not tracked the spending or overall outcomes of the programs.

If you just give all the money spent on "fighting" homelessness to the actual homeless then every one of them will get $85k every year. This gives you an idea of how much is literally stolen by the California bureaucrats. Why would you eliminate the problem that keeps making you money? So don't expect any improvement any time soon.

Well as a relative of persons in California affected by homelessness I seen first hand the foolishness. My sister who is almost 50 and has no disabilities refuses to hold down a job. Back when she did something to get her kids put in foster care when they were small my sister….smh my sister told the judge in open court that he was taking away her income🤦🏽‍♀️. So years later her daughter with a mother like that has repeated the dysfunction. She’s 26 and on her 4 th child. For the past few years my sister, her daughter and grandkids have been staying in a hotel turned shelter in the LA area. During this time my sister made no efforts to work. She laid up in her air conditioned room smoking cigarettes and weed with her daughter all in the baby’s faces. I asked her so are you just going to live here forever. She said no she’s waiting on them(government) to find her housing. So this year the government put her in a 3 bedroom house. I asked her how do you qualify for a 3 bedroom. She told them her grandkids live with her . But she purposely didn’t put her daughter on the lease even though her daughter’s welfare check is their only income. Her daughter and her have a very contentious relationship so I guess she wants the control to put her daughter out. But she needs her daughter because her daughter will work minimum wage jobs and the welfare will pay my sister to watch her own grandkids.🤯So she told me they can live in the house rent and utilities free for 3 years. The government will pay. No strings attached. Ok that’s not going to help them. They are going to chill and do nothing for 3 years and expect the government’s help when they’re homeless again. I seem a lil bitter. Well I AM ….I work my butt off 6 days a week and they living better than me. The government not making them do nothing. I think at the very least they should make her do community service or something. Free housing hand outs isn’t helping. We were both raised in foster care and I decided to not be a victim while she thinks the world owes her. I moved to Texas . My sister and her daughter did too. When they found out that Texas isn’t big on welfare they took themselves right back to California. My niece just threw 3 back to back birthday parties for her mom and kids. I mean DJ’s , mechanical bull, and bounce houses. All while no one is working and the government is providing free housing. A lot of that homeless money going to lazy people like my sister.

Just provide the shelter directly to the homeless. Instantly, over twice as many could be housed and more would actually accept the help since they wouldn't be getting nagged endlessly by a bunch of office workers.
