Impressed by the 4K 120 frames per second capability, perfect for slowing down those action shots. Great for mountain biking!
Love how versatile the mounting options are, whether on the chest or the back, it offers unique angles for POV content.
This field of view is wild lol I think it's currently the best default one on the market for capturing the full perspective while riding down a trail.
Ahh unboxing and review in one, sweet. The unboxing experience of the Osmo Action 4 looks sleek, what a nice combo. But you change your angles too fast 👀
The camera's light sensitivity and quick adjustment from dark to light areas is a huge plus for some dope shots!
Great stabilization modes comparison, thanks! That's what I've been looking for. Rocksteady is a amazing, especially for MTB shots. It really adds to the viewer's experience.
Scotty, thanks for showing the colorgrading samples! I love it! It takes the footage from gloomy, to colorful and beautiful!
The magnetic clips for mounting the camera look quite convenient. Quick and hassle-free! Wish you could show some vertical footage too
Amazing camera and video, thanks. Best mtb camera review i have ever seen. 😄
Amazing camera, no unnecessary sharpening and adding contrast like GoPro, also battery lot better and more reliable. Much more stable platform if you ask me.
The battery is the same as the action 3
Thank you for this video! It delivers helpful information.
Great review! Thanks
This camera is amazing I got one and it does so many awesome things! You can even use your iPhone to monitor the screen! While still playing music in your phone with earphones on with the iPhone music still playing
The Adventure Combo is such a sweet deal, you get a lot of value for your money! Nice video!👍
In my country Mexico it's 500 USD so not a sweet dela 😢 bought the regular for 380 😢
Do you need to mount the camera upside down in that chest mount? Or there is enough room for angle adjustment in the normal position? There is less leverage in normal position so it should shake less.
Thanks for showing examples of the different stabilization modes. That was super helpful!! Have you ever tried keeping exposure to manual or do you recommend auto when riding down a hill on a bike? I normally film everything on manual for traditional filming but I am thinking/ guessing with an action cam those rules can go a bit out the window as your eyes want to see the action and are ok with changing exposure. What do you think?
Good question. I put it in to Auto primarily cause on runs in and out of the trees I liked the instantaneous adjustment of it for the light depending on conditions and scenarios. Find on auto it let’s the most amount of light in and helps massively with the stabilisation of the footage!
hi did you try to record in 60 frame rates? how its compare to 24?
I would like to see that too, fps-same trail comparation.
Hi, I would like to know where I can buy the green Scott helmet, camera kit?
thanks daniel
You’ll be able to get one from any authorised dealer. It’s called the Stego helmet!
grazie mille@@ScottyLaughland
Great review.
I'm about to pull the trigger on the Action 4 adventure combo. Any ideas on a decent helmet mount? I want to use a chest mount but it probably won't sit well over a protective body armour.
TIA.
What helmet is that where it has a molded helmet cam mount in the visor?
It’s the SCOTT Stego! You get two visors as stock. One with mounts and one without!!
Brilliant! Thank you. I’ve been looking for an open face solution that would work under visor that didn’t require custom cutting the visor.
Do you have any other video with this camera? I am asking because I have seen you still use GoPro. I'd like to see if you have any.
I used the Osmo 4 throughout the Chamonix challenge and was stoked with the results. I’ve also been using it this winter but haven’t shared much!!
@@ScottyLaughland Thank you Scotty 🙏
What about the sound? Does it need wind muffler? Thank you
Sound seems pretty good to me but depends what you’re looking to do with it!
hi. where did you edited this video? and render?
Just in Premier Pro!
Can you point to any examples of shots filmed from your helmet in any other videos?
Check out the Chamonix Challenge all POV is filmed in that is on the DJI Osmo Action 4
@@ScottyLaughland brilliant, thank you!!!
Is distortion a feature 🫣
It looks shaky sorry go pro hero 8 had better stable shots and that a old pos
Really? I thought it was looking pretty good maybe I should do a comparison video?!? 🤔
@ScottyLaughland it's looks ok the hero 10 I have not studdee at all on my chest 😅 but im not a fan of dji I'm open to comparing the other but the ease of use the gopros the way to go
Is this a paid for video?? It's not clear whether you were given the camera or this is an independent review. And yea, some of these cuts are way too quick!
Everything is great except video quality 😂 I understand DJI paid now many youtubers but unfortunately the pov bike shots are pretty not worthy to watch. As a CZcamsr I would rather put video quality first for the long term benefit rather than a sponsorship of an action cam brand 😊
still not great to be honest.
I had to turn this video off the amount the camera changed angle every 2 seconds made me feel sick 🤢🤮
It's a nice direction with the larger sensor and 12mpx resolution, but still not even remotely close to GoPro Labs unfortunately. I already knew we couldn't expect much from this iteration, but hopefully next year they will have had some time to catch up.
Hmm not sure, I feel GoPro never looks as good as they advertise and these Osmos give a good perspective in the tight techy trails you see in enduro.
I have had poor results so far, and I'm hoping its just user error. I ride at dusk, and usually in forested areas. No trouble seeing but the footage is grainy and looks low resolution even at 4k60...HELP! I'm almost ready to return it and get a go pro 12
