Just bought a V40 Cross Country and absolutely love it. Smooth, comfy, cheap to run, practical enough for my needs, feels well put together, great radio with Bluetooth and USB.. Its got it all and its only the D2.
Stephen Malloy glad you like it. The more I drive the V40 the more I like it, excellent little car.
Going to purchase one today, only concern I had was changing parts if/when needed, i.e. if this is very expensive
always use ur reviews point of reference! made my mind up on the insignia cos of ur review and have ordered a Volvo V40 inscription for my new one this time first time in over ten years im going petrol T3 with the auto box thanks for ur uploads!
alun davies than you I’m glad you enjoy them. I bought a 2015 Insignia SRI recently myself. The V40 is a really good car I’ve no doubt you’ll enjoy it.

I just bought now a V40 D2 and boy am I glad I did. It is such a good car. Previously I had a Ford Focus, as as much as I also loved that car, the Volvo is clearly a superior model. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work :)

A great review...btw...you said you had driven few v40s with different engines...which engine would you go to as far as sound is concerned d2 4 cylinder or d3 (already not in sale) 5cylinder which i heard sounds cool but is bit to loud?
the reclus funny that you should comment because I was driving this actual car over the past few days. The D2 is excellent, good power and good on fuel. I've not driven a D3 V40 so I wouldn't know but you get 150 bhp and to be honest I'd say it's every bit as good on fuel as the D2. The D2, D3 and D4 are all the same 4 cylinder engine just with different power outputs. I have driven the D4 which has 190 bhp and is really quick but not the D3 as I said.
Did Volvo make a V40 2ltr D2 with automatic transmission?
R-design looks nice but the center console are difficult to get right in that finish lol..I make them lol.

That's 280 N/m of torque! It's the best thing I've seen since the 1.6 i-Dtec from Honda. Also 120hp but 300 N/m, absolutely insane and even better fuel economy. I'm torn between these two cars

I think the half cloth seats will lose its nap and polish up with time,may start to look greasy?just an observation

How come the blue one doesn't have twin exhaust ? thought it was standard
The R design has twin exhausts but the momentum and inscription have just standard single exhaust.
Would you recommend the 2015 model to a first time buyer? I mean I'm 21 and I've been saving money for a car and I can buy it but is it a good buy?
Economicwise etc. I basically have not so much idea of what to have in mind while buying a car but I got the money tho

XxAdizero97xX the V40. It’s got more than enough space inside and a good sized boot, however if you do need something bigger for whatever reason I’d get the Mondeo but the V40 should be plentyful.
Shane Earley cheers mate, cause both are at the same price and I don't have like anyone who can actually help me look for the best car so I'm a bit lost but yea if that's what you think I'll have it in mind :)

a bit old now, but all v40 reviews iv seen have a beef with the center console. its hard to controll while driving. No single review iv seen mentions that you can controll most of it from the litte "mouse wheel" in the steering wheel... or by using voice commands(if you have that option). Great review, im on my second V40, upgraded from a MY2017 T2 Momentum to a MY2019 T3 R-design. =)

I’m about the same height as you and I fit comfortably in the V40, so yes certainly enough room for anyone up to 6 foot.

Ugly diesel sound. That's why I prefer petrol engines (plus agility). V40 is only diesel?

Danim24 haha had a a feeling that's what you ment. The D2 is good in the V40 but yes if I was buying an R Design I'd get the 190 BHP D4, would be a rocket with that engine.
