    Why Laundry and Linen area not been shown, Laundry and Linen area is very important on the ship, all the staff uniforms process, All stateroom linens/towels, F&B Linens etc. is a huge operation down there.

    Such a nice way to hide the slavery inside the kitchen job as a cook on a cruise ship.I done it for few years and I had leave it.Today I am a happy CANADIAN with a well paid job after I went to school again here in Canada !

    • @craigsaunders9599
      @craigsaunders9599 Před 2 lety

      No slavery just listen properly and do your job as per your supervisors instructions, one more thing you came to the ship by your own decision, you were not forced to come onboard the ship like as if somebody brought you from your house. If you leave billions of new people desire for a career at sea, the ships company will never close down.

      @@craigsaunders9599 I came willingly to build up a career and I ended up as a slave. Why now I am a successful business owner after 17 years since I left slavery on the ship? I tell you why : I am fucking working hard , I am listening to more knowledgeable people and I follow the rules. Don't fucking teach me what is slavery. On the ship is so called "Modern Slavery" , they taking people from poor countries paying them less than legal pay in U.S.A. , no government pension plan paid and no other government social services. The poor people come on the ship because of hunger , I know from them directly and I was married with a philipina woman. Don't fucking try to teach me what is happening there. Maybe you are one of those asshole managers that is stepping on the slaves bones. There are a couple of them that if see them in Toronto, I will break their bones.

    Knowing nothing more than what I've seen on videos, I don't really know much about cruise lines. I mostly enjoy the videos on food. I do know a great deal about writing for film as a former screenwriter. The same principles apply to all film scripts and filming. This recruiting film is very interesting. The first thing a writer considers is what is the target audience. With this film the target audience is revealed right at the beginning. They are targeting people with below average education/intelligence, that's why they have so many third world crew members. The lower grade jobs have the highest turnover. That's why they made such an elaborate and long film. A 2 hour recruiting film is very rare for these types of jobs. So this means the lower level crew members are not treated very well. In the bar she ordered coffee. That indicates they charge you for nearly everything. The no-cash cards are partly intended to make it easy for the crew to spend money. So, there will be a lot of crew members who get next to nothing come pay day.
    I spent 5 1/2 years at sea in both the US Navy and US Coast Guard. If you've never been to sea you should know a few things. Rough seas can be a nightmare is you are susceptible to motion sickness. I've been in the worst storms possible, including a category 5 hurricane. I was diagnosed "chronic motion sickness", so even though I managed through storms it was horrible. I didn't have to worry about being fired like the crew on a cruise liner. If you get really sick and can't adapt, you'll likely get fired.
    For the longest time I wanted to go on a cruise. It would have been really great not having any responsibilities at sea. I'm okay in a storm if I'm in my rack (bed), the rocking puts me right to sleep like a baby. I decided against it when those news stories reported crime on the ships. If you get raped or another kind of crime, remember that they aren't interested in protecting you. They are going to do everything they can to protect their own ass. Anyway, if you are considering applying for a job on a cruise liner, watch all the videos you can and ask questions. Know exactly what you're getting into.
    Thomas

    A true feeling on how it is to work on a ship, I'm an electrician from Kenya and can't wait to have a ship experience onboard, I hope everything goes well and the American cdc lift their conditional sailing order.

    It´s looks more like a guest tour than a crew tour. How is the life fore the crew on board? How do the crew cabins look from the crew with the loves rank on board to the Captain and Chief engineer.
    Were is the engine room tour and were is the interview with the engine crew and de deck crew (they who do the real work on thos department)

    It's wonderful that Celebrity has produced this video and included the HR Manager in the video. What's important to understand that when choosing a cruise line to work with is how they hire crew and staff. Effective hiring of crew and staff is using behavioral assessments to effectively identify the people that can live and work within the cruise ship environment. By doing so, you increase retention and morale. For the Officers, see if the corporation spends the time and money in training proper leadership skills and BEHAVIORS. Also, does the corporation work towards effectively removing people out of their cruise ships to increase retention and moral of their employees. Their is a simple equation, happy staff happy guests! Easier said then done, but we are all accountable to our employees that dedicate their lively hood to our industry. Thank you to all the wonderful crew, staff, officers, and shore side staff that have made this amazing career for me. Regards, Ron O'Neil

      liked your statement if you see my message here please know that I support you with what you said. very true many people make bad comments about this ship I don't listen to it I ignore it..... I wish I was working on a ship I would love to work for this ship here I saw on video I listened to izraella and berry van veldhoven and they are wonderful and gave the best tour I could see here, I had a friend that worked on a ship his crew area he showed me with permission from his HR staff was awful dull and like old this one on this ship was awesome more relaxing than his ship had and I learned everything from my friend on jobs on ship I saw what he did and all of that I thought it was excellent, he died years ago from some kind of sickness he had don't know what he had it was a virus of some kind and how he contracted that. it was on from being on ship it was something else he was off ship for 30 day vacation he got sick at home and then 72 hrs later died, but I am looking to work on the ship either as housekeeping, or at like a concierge desk in foyer area or something and others like pool deck,anything that be good doing but... one situation I have read comments elsewhere that said to me in the reply your crazy and too old to work on ship and you are not like prince charming meaning good looking, and handsome, cute etc, they said why not get a truck job picking up trash every day or junk yard work they said ships are for great looking people who are beautiful and handsome like movie stars etc I thought oh boy not one of these comments I hear anyone have anuy suggestions or ideas for me. I am open to all many thanks love this video I am learning more and more on this

    WHY THE FUCK DO A HR MANAGER OR T&D NEED TO WEAR STRIPES? ARE THEY QUALIFIED OFFICERS? NO. HAVE THEY OBTAINED A CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY FROM A COASTGUARD? NO. ITS DEGRADING TO THE DECK AND TECHNICAL OFFICERS WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO SERVICE AS AN OFFICER.

I have been working with Celebrity cruises for more then 12 years. To the outside world they try to show they treat their crew the best whereas in reality they treat crew (not staff or officers) as slaves

    On cruise ship crew members are bad treated, work for 12 hours 6 days a week for 700 USD ?????

    • @leonilopatubo3526
      @leonilopatubo3526 Před 8 lety +1

      700 USD that is the salary of the lowest tier of the rank and file and that is their net for a month because all the basics is free. Then going up one could get to 3000 USD for the higher positions such as supervisors, of course going up to the ladder like managers could get 4k-5k..no tax! And you're seeing the world.
