I agree that a puppy is not a toy but it can be an acceptable gift if the recipient truly wants a dog and accepts it as a LIFETIME commitment AND has the financial means to provide for it as well as veterinary care. While backyard breeders and pet store puppies (aka puppy mill dogs) are inappropriate places to get a dog there are always plenty of puppies from shelters, rescues, and responsible breeders. And you can find every breed at shelters or rescues. I love poodles, likely because one was my childhood dog that was with me for 17 years. I got a ‘“puppy” from a rescue that was an 8 month old mini poodle and rescued another 5 year old neglected poodle that had been used for breeding.
I hope all of them still have home...

LayLay Russell I‘m now 19 years old and I always wanted a dog. But it isn’t allowed in our apartment :/ when I finish studying I will move out and buy myself a puppy. When you really want a dog, you will get one, maybe sooner maybe later ;)

cosima kazak I was watching until I saw most of ,if not all of the puppies are purebreds. There are some ethical breeders and then there are puppy mills. I would have liked to see mix breed puppies or older shelter dogs. But I did enjoy watching the children. I always wanted a dog when I was a child. I got 4 brothers instead 😲. Now I have two cats, one a rescue cat nobody wanted and the other a 3 legged one I found starving on the street one winter. I still want a dog but I'll enjoy my cats and give them the best quality of life I can.

You can‘t buy dogs in a shop. Here in Switzerland you need to make a dog ,,course“ where you learn how to be a good dog keeper.
They are not sold something in the shop. You must go to a breeder and he must give you a permission
And the point with the animals and food...
When predators in the nature kill and eat animals it isn‘t bad, but when humans do this it‘s bad?
I hate to break it to you but dogs and cats eat meat too. In the wild, they KILL other animals to survive. So do Leopards, Bears, Coyotes, Cougars, Wolves, Lions and Foxes.
