This is the most cinematic wiper video I have seen and I appreciate it haha
Gotta love old German design!!!
This is the video I’ve been yearning for. Long live the Mercedes Benz mono wiper!
Best mono wiper ever developed in time period!
Thanks for the beautiful video and the beautiful wiper
Pleasure
Thanks to the Verge article that brought me here.
😀
I've always been in love with interesting wiper designs, and the Mercs from the 90's take the prize for sure.
Definitely I think is bestMercedes design and brilliance engineering
I miss this wiper from my W202 C280 so much.
They so neat....back when cars were innovative and cool
Very artistic video. 😊
I’ve literally sat in my 400E in the rain just to watch the wiper 😅
Greatest wiper ever!!!
N then you got Hypnotized
It's relaxing for sure lol
That's it. Love my W210 M119 wiper blade action!
Love the W210s!!
Reminder for everyone with a mono wiper to go grease and take car of his wiper.
The 4 screws need some silk touch though, use wd40 and remove the bolts very carefully.
good tip!!
@@andamandronearttoucan869 thanks 😊
I learned that tip the hard way.
Have always loved the design of this, however the wear on the wiper blades are drastic, guess that's part of the reason they ditched the design...
Its an awesome designed they used it since the 1980s till 2002. Do you mean the wear on the blades? or the rubber inserts? This car we have has been in the family since new 1996 and it has currently now done 456,000 kms in total and still going strong, the wiper has never had any mechanical issues other than replacing the rubber insert once every 3-4 years. They don't have these wipers anymore due to the way the car is built on a tighter budget and materials, fabrics, electronics are outsourced outside of Germany instead of being all made and done in-house at Stuttgart, our engine has never been opened up and re-built just the transmission overhaul at 380,000kms. This generation was one last Mercedes built to such high quality
@@andamandronearttoucan869 Yes, the rubber inserts that actually make contact with the windshield. When it's replaced, a more significant wear can be observed on the side further from the pivoting point. Other than that there isn't any issues. This mono-wiper and magic vision control are some real elegant designs in the era of nothing but the best philosophy.
Today we're paying more money for Denso A/C compressors and Mitsubishi turbos that can be seen on budget cars. Not that they're bad, just not built well enough to claim the luxury brand name. Oh and not to forget the MB original wipers today vibrate and squeak right out of the factory...(replacing them with PIAA silicone blades solves everything)
@@noranekonekomatagi3261 Ah yes the inserts your right do wear faster on outside but its a minor issue. Today all cars are same SUV with same infotainment screens, MB, AUDI, BMW its not about how well built it is now, just all fancy tech but it presents more problems, new ones won't get 1/10ths the kms of the older ones without problems. Back then 90s and before it was about how well the car was built and yes some cool modern tech features but useful ones. Our car doesn't look nor drive as if its done 456,000kms it still feels tight and quiet, no squeaks or rattles when you hit speed bumps or rough roads. I met a Mercedes quality control guy not long ago, his job is go travel the world and inspect all parts, he said before 2000s his position didn't exist because MB did everything in-house and it shows

I want to do a conversation on my car to this wiper.
I'm sure its possible depending on the car's windscreen curvature and size
