True, love it on my -97 CLK 👍 Kinda waiting for rain sometimes. Its bit loud at low speeds tho. CLKs wiper is bit more overengineerd too, it goes in and out while wiping.
Because it’s like a pendulum.

literally grew up with this car. no car compares to how this feels when you drive it, i guarantee it. doesn't matter what car (328i, cla, model 3, etc.) i always find myself wanting to drive my baby. it's a beauty
I bought one about 10 years ago. Best car I ever owned. E430 4matic. Rare car. Ripped throw snow storms like nothing.

I just got one of these. Better to drive in all aspects than most new cars! Makes me glad to see that I’m not the only one who still appreciates these W210s.
I also bought w210 two months ago, it's look like new from factory and comfort of this car are amazing!

these are the videos i’m looking for. on cars we all can afford and look for, and that are possible cars to get, not always seeing some new ferrari f12 delivery video, but a nice solid square merc being driven around. 👌

I used to own one of these , their major problem is their maintenance ...
Let's face it , these cars are old , and mostly gonna need quite a lot of maintenance ...
The problem with these specific models is that they are not old and simple enough to do their maintenance yourself, yet not modern enough to need little or no maintenance , consequently , you end up ( in most cases) with a car that needs repairs that would cost almost twice its price ...
Don't get me wrong , i am still a Mercedes fan to the heart , specially these old ones , I just think they shouldn't be a daily-driver ..
It probably should be something you take out for a spin or a date in a warm summer night every once in awhile ...

And if you buy a new car because you don t want to pay on maintenance, you should not drive in the first place, its cheaper.

The w210 chassis is so underrated, in a couple more years these things are gonna become classics, especially the e55 AMG’s.
This is one of my top three favourite cars. I could stare at that single blade windshield wiper all day. Great rainy day drive

Nice to see a W210 on the channel! As a W208 owner I very much appreciate it! This generation of Mercedes were built incredibly well. My CLK has 267K miles and is still my daily driver!
Unfortunately this one was the start of Daimler cost cutting in MB. While the design was nothing short of name worthy cars rusted, some interior items were made cheaply, electronics failed more often.
But yeah comparing this to the w211 is night and day

My grandpa had a dark blue one with blue cloth interior once. Think it was a 1997-99 model. I miss it... Before that one he had a wine red C class Mercedes from the same era.
The only reason he changed to the E class was... and I'm not joking here... the battery died. Seriously. He just left and came home in a new blue Mercedes lol. Grandma was pissed.

I thought it was cool too!
The reasson they stopped is because it was to expensive. Its my favorite kind of wiper. It even extends at the corners to cover even more of the windshield.

I just secured purchase of a family owned 2001 identical to the one in this video and it’s being picked up this week to be shipped to me and I will be watching this video until she gets here! I have a W211 E55 with the same color combo and they are going to be so happy together!

DriverStein no this is already after that. In my opinion this is where Mercedes started to go downhill. I loved mine but in retrospect it wasn’t made all too well.

@@slaWterCH excluding W210 tendency to become rusted just at one moment, it is really reliable and comfortable car. Also it has bigger space inside than W124.

When you say it has no bluetooth and it's ugly it shows how spoiled you are! This car is gorgeous and very reliable, and you can always install a radio with bluetooth!

I drove a 98 E320 for 140,000 miles, gave it to my adult son who took it to 215,000 with no issues. I upgraded to a 2002 E430. The V8 power is just amazing and effortless. I live in California so have never had a bit of rust problem some people mention . I've been driving Benzes exclusively since 1985. Still have a 1990 300CE coupe, built like a tank and gorgeous.

I had the E290 TD what a fun car to drive
Have two of them in the family, my wife and I both drive one, absolute tanks with fantastic comfort, and fuel economy that is shockingly good, unbelievable for such a large and heavy car with a big engine and an automatic transmission.

I have the same e430 w210. These cars have a class and some serious power. I have 180k miles on mi e still dives like new no issues whatsoever.
A really nice MB w210.
I once had a 1997 E290 Turbodiesel, sedan. Greenmetallic, 5 speed automatic.
Had 10 0000km on the odo.
When I sold it 2008 it had 395000 km on the odo.
No problems, but the corrosion.
Front fenders, 2 doors and the hatch had to be replaced.
Mercedes in Sweden were very helpful, and it was taken care of due to warranty.
Other than that, well built as any MB.

What a great car! I have a 2001 E430 in the Tectite gray color fully loaded! It has less that 100k and is truly better driving than a lot of these newer cars.

I’ve had w123 w124 w210 w211 and now a 2018 w213.
All of them incredibly reliable and long lasting.
Proper maintenance at a certified workshop is as always crucial.

This is kind of a throwback. My grandpa had a 2000 S430 and my grandma a 1998 ML320, and then another M class from the early 2000’s. Similar era Mercedes.

You should do a test Drive on the 04' F150 Lariat 4WD Super Crew cab when it's raining
Its gives you childhood memories when you hear the engine roaring of power in 1st gear to 2nd to 3rd gear and when it reaches to the 50 mph mark you'll hear that *UUURRRRRRRRRRR* part which is so nice to hear.

My dad bought a 1999 W210 E200 with the 136hp 2.0 liter M111 motor in 2011 and still drives it. Only thing he has replaced through the years is the clutch (6spd manual) and the paint is fading away, so the car is in need of a complete paint job. I have a 1994 W124 with the same motor and 5spd manual. These are not fast cars, but are unique to drive... Not because of their sharp steering, but because of the way they make you feel! Would love to drive the V8 version!

@@Forge17 yeah, just about any S class will be pricey. I really want to own an older one, one day but all I can think about is all the cutting edge tech that is packed in them and how much it would be to fix once it breaks. Nice cars, and look great just not for the cheap, unfortunately.

I wish the body was more resistant. I love my W210 wagon with OM613 (3.2 diesel) but that corrosion, damn it.
This one is in really good shape, though I prefer green wood more.

Why is the car temperature above the normal middle line? Is that normal?
I just bought a one owner 1999 e430,sport with 110k miles. I just did the motor mounts, trans mount, breaks and rotors. Next will be the big one. Upper,lower,control arms, sway bar bushings, inner and outer tie rods, coils, shocks and a complete rear suspension rebuild kit. Should be done in about a month. Can’t wait to see how she drives. It’s already good but needs the rubber bits replaced.
