    Great vid. Wish more companies would make stacking drawers

      Yeah, I would have stuck with Ridgid if they had come out with them. Seems only Milwaukee and DeWalt want my business and Milwaukee is the clear winner in terms of options.

      @@MyFortressConstruction yeah agree. Milwaukee is the leader. Everyone else has been sleeping on flip top stackers for a few decades 🙄 Dewalt drawers aren’t great. I’d really like more affordable stacking wheeled drawers for my whole garage. It’s not really high tech stuff

      @@Tigerratcat Try the Dewalt Tstak! It's a great alternative. Lower end, but cheaper and more compact.

    I have the dewalt tough system 2.0 with the deep trays, Dewalt wants a fortune for the foam, I found some foam that is slightly larger than the dewalt trays from ryobi, for what I needed, it was still cheaper than the 2x4 sheet, but yes, that is a good deal and I like how it works out. BTW, a dremel with the sanding disc does a pretty good job of smoothing the bottom of your cutouts (if the area is large enough for the sanding disc).

      Good idea. I hadn't thought to look for other brands that might be modifiable.

    Shadow foam makes a fairly decent deal dollar to amount wise too

    • @sierraecho884
      @sierraecho884 Před 5 měsíci

      Yes, they look great too with the different colors. Just don´t make the mistake and order the foam in the same color as your tools, the point is to have a contrast to see if a tool is missing not mathcing colors. I just 3D print my own shadow board btw. This way I can stay a little more modular and shift stuff around with gridfinity and my own custom made bins which don´t have a stacking lip. They are also all in one color per drawer and one heigth just like the foam would be, makes it way easier to see what´s what. Also you can pack them much denser since the 3D printed parts is a lot stronger.

    I have been using the floor foam for 3-4 years like you had in your other video. Much cheaper and I think the foam is actually much better quality. I buy at Harbor Freight. Use a foam blade that is basically a soldering iron with a blade on the end. I use spray adhesive to bond them. I still think Kaizan foam is the cheapest crap out there, and can’t believe people buy it

    • @MyFortressConstruction
      @MyFortressConstruction  Před rokem +2

      Yeah, I can't believe how much they charge for what doesn't amount to more than packing material, but I prefer it over the floor mats because of it's ease of adaptation and it's softness.

    How did you cut the sheet in half? I tried and made a huge mess.

    • @MyFortressConstruction
      @MyFortressConstruction  Před rokem +1

      Using a 9mm utility knife (They are long and cut the sheets easily). I may have put it in the video description.

    • @MyFortressConstruction
      @MyFortressConstruction  Před 6 měsíci

      Lots of things have doubled, tripled.... The milk we buy is $9 a gallon now. It was $4 and some change in 2020. But as one guy at a supply house said, "People keep buying though."
