    That LullabyLand area for babies is just so sad. Hearing those little babies talking is wild. I'm glad you have some kind spirits around you who wanted to help them.

    your correct in needing a car and the no photographs was a let down . areas locked off due to renovations was what we seen in August . I understand privacy but was still a let down as we actually walked it and used public transport to get there . Enjoyed your video though brought back memories

    It was still a great walking tour Tony, even with the security b.s.
    You did the best you could, it was not worth getting kicked out over.
    It is a beautiful place, very well cared for. It is interesting, that in spite of the security measures, sometimes pictures of crypts in the " no public allowed " areas find their way out into the internet 🙄

    I understand privacy for when visitors are there,but why would he be buried there? I mean,they could have bought a forest and build a mausoleum there? If they want the attention of a site where famous people are buried,they stay famous,right? (Just frustrating to create a memorial place but just for a selective few..)Thank you for this video!👍🏼👀✨😊

      You answered your own question. MJ was buried there for the same reason that Clark Gable, W.C. Fields, George & Gracie Burns, Harold Lloyd, and others were interred in the GM... PRIVACY. They didnt want to be hounded in the afterlife by their fans. Even when the Forest Lawns were open to the public (before Disneyland FLG was thee #1 tourist location in SoCal) they still honored their residents' privacy.'

      @@trinadolbeare1585that’s because none of those cemeteries really have any private areas . The great mausoleum at forest lawn Glendale is just different due to the high number of rich & elite individuals buried throughout the building it’s always been like that long before MJ was buried there . Plus everything in that mausoleum is made of marble the floor, the crypts, the stair cases that take you to the terraces below the mausoleum . Distinguish crypts in the building cost upward of 1 million dollars or more . I don’t think they want ppl tarnishing their favorite celebrities crypt or something like that plus the fact all those ppl paid for top notch privacy is why filming & photography isn’t allowed .

    • @trinadolbeare1585
      @trinadolbeare1585 Před 8 měsíci

      @@moonwalker_818everything you're saying I've know for years. The Great Mausoleum isn't the only locked area at Forest Lawn, Glendale either. So what you're also implying is that Pierce Brother's Westwood doesn't have high profiled celebs or a secured locked area? Which they have both. In the 1980s, you weren't even allowed to take pictures at Forest Lawn Glendale.

  • @terrymyers699
    @terrymyers699 Před 8 měsíci +2

    According to the Forest Lawn website it states (and I'm paraphrasing here): Photography of the artwork in and around the cemetery grounds is allowed but the photography of graves, headstones and memorials of the residents interred w/in is strictly prohibited. Yet, I was escorted out by cemetery security - twice - for photographing the statuary. As for photography inside the Great Mausoleum is now nearly impossible. And has been since the early 1970s when they closed off the GM to the public. Its easier to photograph the famous at the Freedom Mausoleum though. As for the private gardens, where you need "the Golden Key" to access, if you visit on Thursdays, when the grounds crew do the lawn maintenance, you can enter due to the doors being propped open. As a side note: Yes, Michael Jackson is in the corridor. No, he is not in the red sarcophagus (pictured). He is buried under the floor, to our left, in front of the sarcophagus. His "room" holds 12 casketed burials, 10 under the floor and 2 in the sarcophagus. I have HD the privilege of taking pictures inside the GM (was w/ property owners at the time) and even then we were tailed by security either by video monitoring or physically being about 15 feet behind us.

    The grounds keeper clearly gave you misinformation . He’s either new or isn’t someone assigned to be allowed in the mausoleum Michael is below the three ascension windows the 2nd window you pointed it is just a sanctuary with different wall crypts . So the first spot you pointed at is correct . I use to work security for allied universal security company contracted with forest lawn walked up and down those corridors many times. From the front entrance to Holly terrace section of the great mausoleum Michael is straight down the corridor to the back & if the doors were open you’d see his massive sarcophagus at the back end of the corridor in the sanctuary of ascension .

    Sucks About the filming. I don't see how its disrespectful, but Its their rules I guess. This isn't directed at anyone in particular, I am sure most of you know this, but I see it brought up alot. Cemeteries are not public spaces like a city park for example. They are the private property of a for profit business. So unless local government has taken over the property You can be told not to go onto the property by staff. Once again it sucks. But people shooting these videos have to be careful not to be tresspassed off the property. Tony thanks for all the hard work you do to bring us content.
