Your phone analogy confused the hell out of me. And I've been doing major mental aerobics trying to make sense of Lady of the Lake's ending after reading the epilogue of Season of Storms and connecting them with the games, because I firmly consider it all "canon". And my brain is fried. Leave a message at the beep.
Perhaps as a source he tapped into the latent energy that Ciri has. He wouldn't have control like Ciri but accident accessed it. This might be why he sees the white frost future. It's really Ciris connection he is tapping into. Ciri is the well he is the bucket
Hello. I have a petition for a video...if it is possible of course. I am a fan of legendary/magical weapons, weapons with a legend or special power within them. I have oy played the witcher 3 and the only swords that I could consider as magical are Iris, Olgierd's sword, since Geralt states that his medallion thinks the sword is magical and because of the unique effect it has and Aerondight, based on the quest, special power etc etc... So...are there any other and unique/legendary weapons worth mentioning? Greetings.
Badass video dude. Super informative. Love the channel keep up the great work! I think a good video would be discussing potions and decoctions with including similarities and differences between books and games!!!! That would be sweet.
Witcher 1 is just weird... Triss doesn't act like Triss... she's some sort of mix of Triss & Yen, but not really either and Alvin was a poor Ciri substitute. It does seem like they tried to replace Yen & Ciri with Triss & Alvin, but it's just weird. Alvin just being a regular source, without Elder Blood, seems to make more sense, but I'm not sure anyone other than those with Elder Blood can teleport. I won't accept he has Elder Blood though... it contradicts the books too much. Some people seems to think that Elder Blood = Source and that Ciri & Alvin are the only ones. I'm sure there are other Sources, just not named. No one will probably agree with this theory, but I wonder if Triss might be a Source. We don't know enough about her past to really know... but she is a very powerful mage despite her "young" age (young compared to most mages). From what we learn about her in Blood of Elves, she's had an easy life and never really suffered until Sodden (unlike Yen, who had a deformity and a horrible home life before becoming a mage.... which sounds like it's the norm for most sorceresses). Triss also compares herself to Ciri at one point and being interesting in the world at that age... and said that comparison brings the next advice she has for the Witchers, that Ciri is a Source... Not sure if she compares because they both use magic or maybe she was/is a source too... just not an Elder Blood one with extra powers. It was just something I thought when reading the book... could really go either way unless we find out more info on her background. Sorry for rambling... I'll go back to lurking.
That's a really interesting theory. I personally believe Triss is just a simple sorceress based on the fact she's not overly powerful, but it's entirely possible she may be more powerful then I think (as we dont really see her true power and the battle of kaer morhen definitely shows some incredible power). Also ramble away aha
@@WitcherGeorge It's just something I wondered. It could go either way. She's definitely not nearly as powerful as someone with Elder Blood, that's for sure. I doubt we'll ever find out anything about her background (other than no pain & suffering and she knows how to sew ... which Yen doesn't). She's most likely just one who could be taught, but I still wonder if maybe. My understanding of mages is that there are 2 kinds- sources & those who have the potential to learn... and both kinds exist, just there are more of those who can learn. (though I wonder if Witchers fall into that category... were those who survived the trials actually individuals with potential to learn magic? Another random thought of mine since witchers can use signs... and have varying strengths in magical energy (or maybe those who could have become mages in another life are the ones with stronger magical abilities... my mind wanders a lot).
@@ashleyien1222 Well it has been said that Eskel possess greater magical capabilities than his fellow witchers so perhaps he may be a source, but his true potential was never really harnessed as witchers dont really bother with magic past the signs.
@@WitcherGeorge Possibly. A source or just stronger magical talent, either is possible since they become witchers at a very young age. Yeah, I think Vilgefortz wanted Geralt to learn real magic, but he had no interest (as do most witchers). Geralt probably had the ability to learn magic (had he not become a witcher) due to his sorceress/druid mother... I'm just wonder if possibly all witchers who survive the trials do (which is why they can learn signs...but as in all things magic, each individual has their own level of power/ability)... I doubt the author every cared for reasons or such, just a theory I've had. I've seen people say the mutations give them the ability to use signs, but maybe they always had that power and just had to be taught...which happened after the mutations. Perhaps it's the connection to magic that helps them survive. Most the population has no magical talent at all, and most kids put through the trials don't survive... definitely not something for sure, but maybe.
I'd say the Crones also fit the description of a Source. They are essentially beings of pure Magick that were created from Water and Earth by the Lady of the Wood. If the Crones really are Sources then I'd say they have already mastered their own inherent Mystical power.
It might be a bit weird, but think you could do a video on the life and adventures of Odrin? You can find notices of him throughout Witcher 3. The ones that I remember are in White Orchard, the Redanian checkpoint between Velen and Novigrad, and Novigrad itself.
Right at the beginning of witcher 1 shani says that he must be of elder blood. It happens after he get unconscious and speaks ithlinnes prophecy. It is also known that Alvin actually was planned as an Ciri replacer for the story the whole first game could be seen as an different approach of the witcher games. This is why it feels so different from the other games and why some characters were never seen again after this one. Because of this cdred had to rewrite some elements like the king of the wild hunt, did you know that geralt was fighting a illusionary ghost inside a dream vision of jack de aldersberg yeah that kind of rewriting -. - makes the last boss of the game worthless to beat. Remember that decision to give de aldersberg soul to the wild hunt well you can't give a soul to an illusion XD WAIT FAN THEORY TIME THE FIRST GAME WAS ALL A DREAM OF GERALT KNOW IT MAKE SENSE XD.
A new expansion for Gwent is on the horizon, the update will bring characters like Jacques De Aldersverg and maybe Alvin. Slama - game director - stated that Gwent is capable to expan The Witcher lore, could expect some references that Alvin is Jacques.
I think it could make sense. There could be more than one holder of the elder blood to have emerged with humans, Alvin might have gotten it from one of those lines.
I have a question, regarding queen Meve of Rivia. In Blood and Wine Geralt meets a prince from Rivia. He claims that Meve is his mother, yet he talks with a Toussaint accent. Is he really Meves son or does she have multiple sons? Is a bastard or is it normal for the Rivian nobility to refer to the monarch as "mother" or "father"?And one mor question, do we know what happened to Meve during the third northern war?
Awesome video dude, really helped me make sense of Alvins character. Also, I'm loving watching your streams on Twitch though I hear your going to do AC Rogue some time? Do you know when you'll start that?
The books provide the answer. There is no way ciri didn't have kids. When she grew up she was trying to get her groove on and only the direct intervention of the cock block fate stopped her from doing so.the end of the last book she was ridding off to day screw one of king authors knights and the lodge explained that ciri could give birth to pure elder blood individuals. So if it was not her son then more then likely one of her descendants. Or it could have been one of Ciri's cousins .the lodge used magic to make sure there was only one elder blood at one time, but in this regard of magic vs nature.....I dont think there is enough magic in the multi verse to stop the ragging libido of that family, so it would not surprise me if one of Ciri's relatives slut butted the lodges schemes into oblivion.

Its that the genetic difference between male and female humans made females incompatible with the mutations. I tried to say that the the most correct way possible lol.
I swear that opening scene is by far my least favorite scene in a video game. It’s emotional but at the same time SO ANNOYING!!! I can’t believe how long it lasts
After the clip you used of ciri all a can hear is her dead pan screatch for an hour. What did you do to my head

I love Ciri so much. You love her more in the books-the kid had a fucking miserable life and she is still inherently a good person.
First time I heard avallach’s counter spell for Ciri I thought he shouted like an old fart “quiet! Quiet!”
Now I'm back to the same old problem. Do I want to play the Witcher 3 again?
That's like, every WitcherGeorge video gets me thinking the same thing.
Ihave a bigger problem... Should I play entire trillogy again? AAAAnd the answer is yeah
Garrett Horne Yes!
Do it

I could've been a little clearer, I just thought I'd stick it in there in case some find analogies easier to understand then straight explanations.

The beginning is just my ears all the time lamo
Is Yennefer also a source? At least in the show, she started teleporting without training. She manifested magical abilities.
some mages can teleport, the difference is that ciri can teleport between different worlds
YOUR CHARACTER SKILL TREE ONLY GOES TO LEVEL 30 ? CAN YOU JUST RE-UP YOUR SKILLS FROM THERE OR IS THAT IT ?
I think alvin is the leader of the wild hunt
So Alvin is a true born Source and Ciri is only a Source as a side effect of the Elder Blood.
What if Alvin is ciris son or descendant who travelled back in time in the first play when he was even younger and it doesn’t remember it
He didn't save or end the world.
