Indeed, the stories of hopes, dreams, adversities, strifes of people of Singapore should be documented and preserved in print, film, audio, art and cultural objects for our future generations. Thank you Mr Wee for your initiative!

    Tell the story of Singapore.

The National Library Board is efficient at buying copies and many people prefer to borrow the books. If they can find the books since the Singapore collection is usually in a corner of the library and writers are not well known.
Also, people have low salaries and cannot afford to buy books or don't have enough time or desire to read - 44-working hours are long and tiring, and I've not included commuting hours.
