When I was in drivers Ed in high school (1980), they gave us a choice automatic or manual. Glad I chose manual.

Watching this, you can understand why in the UK if you pass the driving test on an automatic the licence only covers you to drive an automatic (because it's so easy to drive). If you pass the driving test in a stick shift (we'd call it a manual gearbox) you're covered to drive both a manual and an automatic. With either licence, there's no legal requirement to carry it in the vehicle (or the driver to carry any form of identification).

I’m 16 and wish I had the opportunity to learn, I feel like I could do it with just a little guidance but have no manual car to drive. At the same time I don’t want to dump 5k just so I can say I can drive a stick
Funny video. My dad taught me to drive a stick shift in a field. I didn't drive one again for a long time. Then my ride had trouble so I had to take Dad's truck to school the next day. I got out with mom the Sunday before school. She didn't know how to drive one either. I took the truck down the road from my house. I eventually learned on the road. Nissans are good trucks to learn on. They take lots of abuse.
I haven't driven stick in 20 years and I miss it. Makes me want to go and find an old beater.

But technically.... in that truck... once it's rolling at 3mph ... 2nd gear is the gear... the parking lot, city streets gear... from 3 to 30mph... all second gear.

need to make it easier on her as soon as she goes from to go to in the third shove it in the neutral and let go of it and then shove it into third cuz as soon as you let go of the gear shifter it will pop it over by 3rd and you can push it straight up
Manual is the worst but automatic is better
