Coach, thanks for another informative video. I am one of the handful of Spyder riders actually using my phone & BRP Connect app for navigation. I checked out the new Garmin Zumo model you spoke of. I would love to have it ... would be MUCH better than the BRP app, but I'm not sure it's $600 better (plus USB port and Spider cuff). I will eventually upgrade.
I want you to know I am the proud owner of the upgraded (recalled) front sprocket on my 2018 RT. I told you I had been given the run around for a solid year by BRP & my dealer of choice. I finally got fed up and called another dealer in another city 100 miles away. They ordered the replacement parts and had them in the store 1 week later!!! Today I had the sprocket installed. It looks like my long delay was dealer-related ... NOT BRP's fault.
I have a 2020 RT limited and purchased the Top Cuff on both sides of the handlebars. They work great!
Ther Quad Lock is what I bought recently for my 22 RTL with the cuff. I tried a cheaper version called the Q Mount which didn't work with my Otterbox so I had to get a skinnier phone case for it to work. It also didn't clamp down on my handlebars tight enough. I tried putting some electriclal tape over the bars but it just didn't work very well. The Quad Lock is by far the best option that I have seen. Thanks for the video and hope everything works out for you and your family.
Family is Everything!
That's great how you can use that mount on the Tiger and the Spyder. I've heard nothing but good things about the quad lock. Just got my zumo XT installed this past weekend... It is pretty slick. Best wishes to your son and family in their move and of course we keep Allie in our prayers. 🙏🙏🙏♥️
I have lots of accessories on my '17 RTL but I really don't think any of them are as great as the Lamonster cuff... Truly a brilliant idea. I use the Tackform high spring mount for my Android and have had not a single problem with it.
Ive got to get some top cuff's for my 21' RTL. I use another ram method. I'm using the Trackform holder.
I have used quadlock on the three bikes I have had and my car. I am using the mag mount so it drops on in the car. it still is a twist on the spyder. they have been rock solid. not so for the x mount I first used. also for iPhone you should use the vibration mount. If you don't you risk your camera function on the phone. the f3 and the 2020+ rts you can use the handlebar mount. I am a strong advocate of the quadlock system. I have dropped my phone and have not suffered any damage with the quadlock case. yes it costs a bit but you will not lose a phone
I looked at the Quad Lock but was a little turned off by the bulk on the back of the case as I primarily wirelessly charge my iphone. So after lots of searching I ended up with the Mous Case motorcycle kit which is extremely similar to the Quad Lock except the phone case is slim & it allows me to still wirelessly charge my phone. Thanks for another great vid Coach!
Top cuff is the bomb.
I had an X mount and my phone fell out on the highway traveling at about 70 mph. I was unable to find it that day. I did find it a couple days late smashed to smithereens. I lost all of my information. I have since got a Quad Lock and am completely satisfied with it.
I bought two top cuffs and the phone mount based on your recommendation. I agree that LaMonster products are great. By the way, I just ordered a quad lock with anti-vibration mount. I hope it will keep my new phone safe. I am still using my old phone and the Lamonster phone mount that you originally recommended.
I’m going to look into a new phone mount.
How does it mount in your vehicles? Sending prayers 🙏
Will the Spyder cuff fit the TriAxx handlebar upgrade? Is the diameter of the plastic arm the same?
Coach Bob . Two questions . First and most important question Is can we be confident in the 2023 Spyder RT dependability. my wife and I want to travel cross country, we keep hearing negative comments and posts on Y/T. Overheating and electrical issues being the primary quality problems , not having enough power for traveling steep grades when loaded to capacity. Second question I want to be able to ride with my Son and his group at 80mph and we heard the Spyder cannot travel at those speeds. Thank you, appreciate your content.
I have been riding Spyders for almost 12 years, 2011 RTS, 2014 RTS and currently 2018 F3T. I read a lot of Spyder forums and haven’t heard anything about this 3rd generation RT (RT model years 2020 to current) overheating.
The 2013 RT definitely had a heat issue and BRP issued a recall for that model which is also the last year BRP included the 998 engine in the RT.
The 1330 engine is a good engine and you will be able to travel at 80 MPH with no problems.
Have fun and enjoy your Spyder.
@@parrishw5133 Thank you for answering my questions . I'm in between with harley trike or Spyder RT . Quality with the Spyder and Price of the harley being the determining factors . Additionally, the Harley has a HUGE family organization behind it. My son is going to a Harley ride and get together today. We don't see that from Spyder. However, I'm at the age where that's really not important. Quality and safety for my wife and I is at the top determining list. Thank you very much Parrish W.
Check out the video release on Wednesday 07/12. I am going to respond verbally to this on the You asked for it video... Thanks for the question.
