I usually carry a head lamp
Coach Bob I forgot to mention if you ever come CANADA bound don't even THINK about bringing personal protection DEVICES on any kind. Even if you JUST have them in your possession and not carrying you will not have a pleasant trip, our jail cells are not luxurious. Keep 3 wheels on the floor!
Maxpedition sells a phenomenal bag in their AGR line called LTB or lightweight toiletry bag that would be ideal for an on bike emergency repair, tool holder or medical kit. Frequently found on sale for 40% off on their website makes it a tremendous value. It’s lightweight, tough, has plenty of storage pockets, zippered bags, elastic retaining straps and even a mirror one could use for many uses. I recently purchased one for travel and once I’ve had a chance to load it out I think it would be the ideal bag for the Spyder or any vehicle.
I am a brand new Spyder RT Limited owner and I have been watching your videos and than you for this one. I need to get a few more items to complete my tool pouch. Once again thank you.
I’m glad it helped!!! 👍👍👍
Hey Coach Bob, John from Asphalt Odessy gave you a great shout out and mentioned that you have been nominated by BRP to be a Spyder Ambassador. So I searched you down and came across this video which is worth everyone watching. This is my first of yours with many more to view!!! The one item you didn’t mention in your tool necessities is a PORTABLE TIRE INFLATOR which would come in mighty handy with the tire plug kit you have. Thanks keep the 3 on the floor!
Gotta luv your PSD reference, which by the way, certain ones are not very welcome at all into Canada. In my younger days, many conflicts and disputes were resolved on ice skates, where our PSD's were our elbows and hockey sticks, dental insurance was recommended. Then afterwards in the dressing room or at the local roadhouse, all aches and pains were quickly forgotten over a few Molson Canadian or Labatt Blue "medicinal" rehydration beverages 😵😊
Great information and tips in your video, to remind us that it's better to have some tools and gadgets we may not need, as opposed to being in a predicament wishing we had been better prepared.
I would switch from flares to led hazard markers
I recently had a subscriber send me an LED hazard marker. It works awesome. I'm probably going to get another 3 or 4 for my other vehicles as well.
I carry a variety of tools, a first aid kit & a jump starter pack in all of my vehicles. Great info as usual Coach.
I carry much the same stuff when I tour. I do need the jump pack added to my kit.
Excellent video, you've made some great points, I might also carry smaller Torx some panels have smaller than the 25 & 30. Ryan at FortNine did a video on tire repair types you should give it a view. Zip ties, electrical tape and even a small amount is bare wire for hot spots that zip ties won't work. Having a Snap-On truck following you with a pit crew LOL. Cheers Alex
Great video and great advice. I only have maybe 50% of what you carry. Guess I have some shopping to do. I strongly advise everyone carry a first aid kit. You never know who you may encounter in need.
Hey Coach, I second you on knowing how to free your Spyder if the parking brake gets stuck. I had an F3-T a few years ago that that happened to. Fortunately it happened right outside of my garage, and with CZcams's help I was able to figure it out, but it was a lesson in the value of having some basic tools on you when you ride. Great video, as usual!
I keep a lot of stuff in my 5.11 bag. My family calls me The Last Boy Scout . Also my personal protective device as you mentioned on me.
Love how you discussed the personal safety device. When you head up through the North East make sure you revove the "batteries" and lock both up in seperate containers before crossing the New Jersey line. Retired LEO from there and so many people from PA made that mistake. Great info on the tools!
Excellent video good information. So if I broke down I would just call Coach Bob's Auto Repair for Can-Am spiders. LOL. But you are right we should bring the things we need just in case we break down. Keep up the good work🏍🏍🏍🏍
Zip ties are an absolute necessity! Ryde Safe Brother 🙏🏻😎🏴
New rider here: What's the purpose of the zip ties??
Look at your fusebox and grab a few of each to carry with you in any vehicle.
And 10' over quality wire.
Nice informative video
Another good video! I carry a rechargeable jump pack I bought off of Amazon. I HIGHLY recommend it. It saved my bacon recently when my battery drained in a remote park I was taking a break in. A Harley rider had come up to me asking questions about my Spyder (as you know often happens). I wound up talking over an hour and realized after he left that my key was on, and my.headlights had drained my battery. I would still be there if I hadn't had the jump pack.
Now that's a very comprehensive kit Coach. I like my Leatherman tool and I take 2 Needle nose vise grips. I will be adding a few of your ideas. Electric tape is always in my bag. Plus the common metric tools.
I appreciate your practical advice.
This is my second time through this, but I'm headed to Florida soon (from Vegas) and it certainly bears repeating. It was good before and good today. I could add some small items, but you did a really nice job...
Good Video! I Appreciate The Thought That Was Put Into Making It. Some Of Your Suggestions Can Be Used When Not Touring. I've learned Something. Thanks.
Great info Coach! Thanks!
Great video. Always carried tools on 2 wheels. Many times used it to help others. Now on a Spyder, interested in seeing what is needed.
Great info CB3. Working on my kit now for the upcoming Daytona trip!
Nice video, many of these things I had to learn the "hard " way...informative for everyone!!
Thanks for the info CB3! I am doing it right! Just watched this video and find it the best one out there regarding tools to carry on the road! Stellar job my friend! I feel safer already! Look forward to meeting you some day, Jake near Cocoa.
And most important a self defence tool.
Maybe some tire chains. It's 17 degrees fahrenheit and a foot of snow ❄️🌨️🥶. Always enjoy your tips and tricks 😉👍
Brrrr.. I’m hurting just thinking about it. ❄️ 🥶 🥶 ⛄️
Get warm soon my friend. 👍😎🛵🏎🏍🦽
Thanks Coach, guess I need to spend some $.
Everyone should include one of those magnetic bendable tool incase you drop and screw or nut in a difficult place and Magnetic screw driver tips also. These would be very helpful in a tool kit. Just FYI
Once again another very useful video. Bob has the tools that came with the bike but we don't have an actual toolkit on it and we were like what were we thinking. We always have them in our cars in the past.So thanks for a future save down the road on this one. Also do you have a tire inflator with you? That is something that we do carry. Bob soon will be doing some more upgrades to his bike inspired by you. How is your weather? I believe you all have been good. We are on the border in Texas and were without power for 3 days which was crazy. Our solar and propane kept us alive (warm) on and off with it but i'm glad that we have power today but of course its 68 today lol. Keep the good videos coming and don't let any of the comments upset you. You and Coach Vic's are veyr inspirational and needed in this time.
I actually carry a Dewalt battery powered air compressor for reinflation of tires. It is really nice and works very well. Here’s a link..

The weather. When I made this video it was pouring rain. It has been for over a week. It’s that time of year. Y’all stay safe out there. God bless.
Something that is great for personal security when traveling that I have and got from Amazon is (Addalock) the portable door lock by Rishon Enterprises inc.
I will check them out... thanks.
You never mentioned how to inflate a tire after using a plug. I use a bicycle tool which uses the small CO2 cartridges. Five of those little cartridges will inflate the rear tire enough to get you to a service station and probably three would fully inflate a front tire? Love your videos:) Never had to use it yet...LOL. BTW those cartridges come in packs of 5 for about $10 Canadian:)

Tire inflation is a big thing for us. Daily I’m checking the wheel chair tires as well. They run high pressure and are prone to complication.
Thanks for supporting the channel. I really appreciate it.
A can of Raid wasp spray, the kind that sprays a stream, is good for security. I won't say how I know.
I have good insurance I pay a lot for it . If I get stuck I'll call for a flatbed🤪👍🏻✨
I do carry one thing 65 mm socket I have a Can-Am Ryker if I get a flat I wouldn't be able to get the tire off but then again there's always the insurance.😎👍🏻✨
look up lexin smart pump p5
That's the first time I would disagree with you. I love cb3 and know you do your homework. So get fuses and lug nut plus wrench. It's only a few pounds. Please say it coach bob.
The flashlight you were given. What brand and type please? Another great video!
It is the NEBO Slim (HL19L). It is a solid piece of equipment. Very functional.
Add a headlamp.
An Israeli trauma bandage is good too.
Hey Coach! I have a question regarding security of your trailer. Do you have times when traveling that you may need to leave your trailer behind at maybe a motel? If you do, how do you secure it? It's so light that to me, it would be an easy target.
Thanks.
Say Coach, who is the sailor in the Picture?
That is my son... He recently got out after 9 1/2 years. He served on the Alabama..SSBN731..Ohio class submarine as a nuke.
Great tips! Do you carry a tire inflator?

It works great...and I carry 2 lithium ion batteries with it as well.
Thanks for watching. 👍👍🏍🛵🏎🦽
Do you have some kind of hand tire pump to go along with the tire plug kit?
Yes we use a Dewalt lithium ion battery powered compressor. It works exceptionally well.
Disappointed that there is a lighter jack or they call it a power port for my air compressor.
I dont see a rain suit in your kit.
I’ll be doing a rain suit episode soon. Thanks for supporting the channel. 👍👍👍😎😎🏍🏍🏎🛵
@@CoachBob3 Looking forward for that video.
