🌸Korean Potato Gamja Jorim
Ingredients
* 1 1/2 tbsp cooking oil
* 1 lb baby potatoes, large ones cut into halves and small ones leave as whole
* 1 cup water
* 5 tbsp soy sauce
* 4 tbsp maple syrup (reduce to 3 tbsp to your taste)
* sesame seeds for garnish, optional
This is such a sweet video. My mom is Korean, and she passed in April at the age of 70. I inherited her pantry, and your videos have really helped me cook some of my favorites just like my mom used to make. ❤️

I am a 74 year old Korean-American, but the only thing I know how to say is: “Annyeonghaseyo” and a few other phrases. So Annyeonghaseyo for helping to motivate me to go back to my Korean roots, especially in cooking. Love your videos.

I'm not Asian but I'm Southern, and we all cook a dab of this a bit of that, a mess of those. When my son was younger I had injured my back and he wanted spaghetti so I told him I would talk him through it if he wanted to make it. He still teases me to this day and he's 35 now about how he had asked how much of something to put in and I said oh a decent amount. He brought all the measuring cups over and said none of these say decent on them LOL I've never seen taters that tiny but I suppose you could cut larger winds up to that size. This looks so good my mouth was watering and I hadn't even clicked on the link to see the ingredients yet. And some of those bottles I didn't know what was in them, just The soy sauce and the maple syrup. Your mama is so cute oh, she is just adorable and I love her big old smile

Most Korean dishes can be made mild by just omitting the pepper flakes or paste in the recipe. If you see a recipe that looks good but is too spicy for your taste, don’t be afraid to just try it anyway without the spicy elements, it should still be delicious 😋
Obviously some dishes like 떡볶이 are always going to be spicy no matter what but a lot can be modified
