Welcome to my final video in 2016! This is DX Grand Liner [グランドライナー] from Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGo Five [救急戦隊ゴーゴーファイブ]!
Did you get that train set you wanted for Christmas? Is it as rad as the one I got?? Well, to be fair...I got this back in March...and I bought it myself...but still! It's Christmas Day, so why not share this enormous transforming train set with the world even if it meant posting GoGo Five mecha out of order. I mean, would Victory Mars have been as appropriate to post today?
DX Grand Liner is made up of the following Go Liners...
1. Go Liner 1 ゴーライナー1
2. Go Liner 2 ゴーライナー2
3. Go Liner 3 ゴーライナー3
4. Go Liner 4 ゴーライナー4
5. Go Liner 5 ゴーライナー5
The five Go Liners can combine together to form the massive Grand Liner. Individually they can carry their respective 99Machines or Mars Machines. The Go Liners can also be towed by Max Liner, which makes Grand Liner the only mecha in the series that has true inter-connectability with all other mecha from the series. Grand Liner is light on accessories itself, but comes with some very-hard-to-find antenna pieces (which I do have) and a very-hard-to-find claw piece that hooks onto Go Liner 5 (which I don't have NOW, but will soon...you'll see it in a future video when I get it from Japan). The claw piece can be used to hook the Jet Lance from Victory Mars onto Go Liner 5 or can be used by Green Hover to carry the other 99 Machines. It's a shame I can't show it this time...but you'll be seeing it soon.
This thing is massive. In it's train mode, it measures out to a whopping 1.3 meters (4 feet, 3 inches). Add Max Liner and it's easily 5ft+ (1.5m+). Crazy, right? As this is a carrier mecha of sorts, you would expect this to have a simple design...but it's actually quite clever. It holds all of the 99 Machines, is a massive train AND becomes a neat looking giant mecha.
As I mentioned before, finding one of these complete AND in decent shape is very difficult. I got lucky and found this one in relatively good condition with the antenna pieces for a very low price. It took some patience, but I found the claw piece for sale on auction recently. All told, I only spent like $50. Some extreme patience will yield a good deal in time... I've been trying to make this video happen for years without going nuts and spending a fortune.
This toy was released in America as the Super Train Megazord in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. It is virtually the same and just as difficult to find complete. Time has not been kind to this particular toy for some reason...

IMHO this is one of the greatest Sentai mechs ever. Whenever you're a bad guy and you look at this mechanical giant... say yer prayers.
BTW reviewing Grand Liner as the last one was a good way of finishing GoGoFive robots line:) I'm also a proud owner of this toy (complete!), but I can't tell whether it's Grand Liner or Supertrain Megazord.
Dude Thanks for putting together such amazing videos to showcase my favorite mecha in sentai. I loved the shots of the individual mecha and the completed combination. The Super Train Megazord (Grand Liner) Is my absolute favorite mecha and toy I just get so much nostalgia when I watch your vids.

Grand Liner is like Dekabase Robo's brother. Big, carries the individual machines, expensive as all heck.

Yeah, quite the disappointment. When it came out people were asking "well how else would they do a train mecha?" Well...................
***** Personally I've always something like VRV Robo in Carranger in where the Terminal could just show a Single Transformable Ressha for each ToQger which changes into one Robo.

This is the big brother of all tokusatsu train mecha.
Can the Trains from ToQger fit inside these?
Why would I even try? Hahaa. I'm guessing the smaller ToQger train pieces do on all except Go Liner 3. The space inside Go Liner 3 is basically a cut out for Green Hover. So I guess the answer is "no"...
Is this the biggest combining Sentai mecha?

GDdiggerz I'm not sure, but I think that King Pyramider in its robot mode is a little bit bigger.
KamenAtlanta 56 I said biggest "Combining" Sentai Mecha. I.e. Ones that are combiners.
GDdiggerz King Pyramider was both a combiner (Battle and Carrier Formations) and a non-combiner (the machine itself). It's just about how the formations were called - they decided to call all three forms of it King Pyramider. However in PR they differ Pyramidas from Zeo Ultrazord. What I meant was Zeo Ultrazord in its robot mode (King Pyramider Battle Formation).
