Welcome to my video of Giga Bitus [ギガバイタス] from Seijuu Sentai Gingaman [星獣戦隊ギンガマン]!
Maybe you saw this coming...maybe you didn't. I wasn't lying when I said I was finished with DX Gingaman mecha last week. The video kinda speaks for itself...this is not a DX mecha. If it were, it would have to be larger than a child. Regardless, this is as close as we got to getting a DX Giga Bitus. I didn't really look to buy this one, but stumbled upon it completely unused at a very low price. It turns out that you still can find a bargain on a 20-year old toy. But is it any good?
Giga Bitus comes with miniature versions of all ten of the Giga Wheels and Giga Wings. As I mentioned, it is not a DX mecha, so the scale is quite off from what it should be like compared to the others.
On the positive side, this set is very well made and has some great detail work. The mini versions of Giga Wheels and Giga Wings are solid plastic and Giga Bitus itself is made of better quality materials than DX Giga Rhinos and Giga Phoenix. Also...who doesn't like a good playset? The ease of transformation gets some soild points as well.
Negatives? Well...this might be made as well as a DX mecha, but it really isn't a complete substitute. The mini Wheels and Wings also have a complete lack of detail. This is forgivable, but I'll get into why this is a probably in a minute. My biggest gripe, and this might be something I've never complained about before about a Sentai toy, is it's packaging. There is no inner packaging outside of two tiny pieces of cardboard. The box is the exact same size as the toy. ......why? Was this really necessary? It is impossible to shoehorn this things back into the box. It's like getting toothpaste back into the tube...
This toy was released by Bandai America for the Power Rangers Lost Galaxy toy line as the Zenith Carrierzord. Curiously they consider this a "Deluxe" mecha, even though...it just isn't. There are two big differences here. The first is that the miniatures included are painted with some detail. How nice! This isn't the first time Bandai America added paint details that Bandai Japan left out (See: B-Fighter) but it's a welcome little change over the original set. The second, and the one that kills off the goodwill that the painted pieces provides, is the fixed front wheel/chest(?) piece. When the front rises up to become the chest, you'll see in this video that the front wheel piece folds down. On the Zenith Carrierzord, it stays in place and cannot be moved. That's pretty lousy...

鋼星獣は元々メガレンジャーのロボの没バージョンだったからね。元々そうなる筈だったが、スタッフが揉めてしまい、その結果ギンガマンの銅星獣になった。
もしそっちを採用していたら名前はギガフェニックスはメガファイター、ギガライノスはエクスプローラーメガ、ギガバイタスはデジステーションになっていた。
操縦は機械だった。
メガレンジャーのストーリーも大きく変わっていた。
その代わりメガボイジャーとメガウィンガーは登場せず、ゴーゴーVかタイムレンジャーのロボになった。
前者だとメガボイジャーがビクトリーマーズ、メガウィンガーがビクトリーフライヤー(ライナーボーイ同様、AI搭載。)となり、ウイングメガボイジャー(この場合、メガウインガーの本体ごとの合体となる)がフライヤービクトリーマーズとなっていた。
後者だとタイムレンジャーの話が変わっていて、30世紀は人類は地球を捨て、宇宙で生活していて、月面基地からタイムロボやタイムシャドウに相当するメカが発進するという設定になった。メガボイジャーがタイムロボ、メガウィンガーがタイムシャドウとなり、ウイングメガボイジャー(この場合、メガウインガーの本体ごとの合体)がシャドウタイムロボになった。
Basically the first megalodon mecha in Super Sentai.
Sure, except this isn't Go-Busters so it isn't a Zord.

As I mentioned in another thread, the DekaBase Robo gets pretty close to this, except without the animal theme or the ability to fly. The transformation is fairly close, though not identical. As of mid-2018, Dekabase Robo is _thee_ last carrier mecha in Super Sentai (though arguments could be made for _Kyuranger's_ Orion Battler, but *I* will _never_ count that one).
Oh yeah I get it sun Vulcan never had their animal mecha, thanks by the way.
ジャガーバルカンと玩具の大きさまで同じだとは思わなかった･･････。
超合金になれず、ライノスとフェニックスも積めず･･････とちょっと不満が残ったけど、マックスマグマの悲劇を考えると、仕方がなかったのかなあ･････。
SMP化したら再現してほしいな
ターボビルダーにマックスマグマ キングピラミッダーは発売したのに なぜギガバイタスだけないのか？
イリエス戦の時は心の底から頼りになる存在だと思ったな。
正直リアルタイムで見てた頃はギガバイタスはマジモンのメカだと思い込んでたなぁ....。

It would be enormous and exceptionally expensive. I don't know what size reference is useful to you, but I'll use other giant robots from _Super Sentai_ .
Volume-wise, it would be bigger than the _Turbo Builder_ from _Kousoku Sentai Turboranger_ , the _Max Magma_ from _Chikyu Sentai Fiveman_ , and the _Deka Base Robo_ from _Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger_ (Delta Command Megazord from Power Rangers S.P.D.) put together.
Height-wise, it would be taller than the _Grand Liner_ from _Kyukyu Sentai Go Go V_ (Supertrain Megazord from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue).

別にフェニックスやライノスを搭載出来るサイズの昔のBIGスケールクラスじゃなくても、商品まんまで超合金に出来なかったのか？という事。

ギガバイタスはギガホイールとギガウイングを格納する母艦なので、超合金にするとやたら大きくなっちゃいますからね。「ゴーゴーファイブ」のグランドライナーはよく超合金にできたものだと感心します。
グランドライナーは超合金じゃないよ、搭載するビクトリーロボとビクトリーマーズが超合金なだけ。
ついでにいうと、戦隊母艦や基地も、小さいのはポピニカだけど、DX超合金に合わせたBIGスケールだって超合金扱いじゃない。
ギガバイタスのデザインはジャガーバルカンに似てるね！DX超合金ギガライノスとギガフェニックス対応の規格で販売するとなるとサイズも半端ないし、価格も高くなるんじゃない？価格でターボビルダーで12000円、マックスマグマで16800円、キングピラミッダーで14800円、規格の大きい順にマックスマグマ、キングピラミッダー、ターボビルダーになるかな？
Could it have been possible to do this to scale as the DX ones? I feel like it would have been as cool as pyrimidas. If they had done it to scale with.
Oh, that would have been prohibitvely expensive to produce, sell and impossible to store! If there was a DX-sized Ginga Bitus, it would have stood almost three feet tall in upright form!
Years later in 2003, there was a DX Bakuryuu Brachiosaurus that could fit all of the DX-sized Bakuryuu inside of it ( _sans_ Top Galor, Stegoslidon, Carnoletus and Chasmoshieldon), but it was only prototyped in final colors and never released [if I understand correctly], and it stood over 2' tall to the top of its head.
Yeah, it would have had to have been gigantic to fit everything in.
Sentaidude75 I think it would take up much more room than Pyramidas or the SPD Delta Command Megazord, and would be even more expensive as the Zenith Carrierzord(Giga Bitus) carries ten Zords instead of five or six.
Could Ginga Bitus be classified as the last generation of the flying carriers in _Super Sentai?_ A lot of people say DekaBase Robo was, but I disagree with that since it never "flew".

Yeah, but Grand Liner didn't "fly". More like it had high-altitude hovoring for combining (which doesn't count because _lots_ of _Super Sentai_ mecha fly/hovor when combining even if they are not dedicated air vehicles), but could _never_ go into the air without a ramp or Liner Shuttle attached to it.
If they did the Gokaiger mecha right, Gokai Galleon would have been the perfect homage. Instead it is an off-scale mishmash that really has little in common with reality.
The 35 years anniversary didn't manage to get a flying fortress right so sad
The 40th Anniversary had literal BLOCKS of plastic. Soooo disappoint considering how hard they worked to get all those homages into _Gokaiger!_
もしギガバイタスをDXギガライノスやDXギガフェニックスに対応したサイズでリメイクしたら、どれくらいの大きさになるんだろ
ロボ形態で身長1m弱はあるだろうと思います。
挿入歌、ギンガマンで一番好きな曲だo(^o^)o
現代の戦隊シリーズでもギガライノスやギガフェニックスみたいな援護用ロボコンビ、ギガバイタスみたいな母艦系マシンがあったらいいなー。ギガライノスとギガフェニックスの助さん格さんっぽさがすごいよかった。

ジャガーバルカンありましたね。あれはDX対応でしたが､ギガバイタスはDX対応だと身長1m弱のロボになる計算だから､形状が似ているだけでサイズ差は桁違いですね。
