From a 1960s psychedelic out - of - control teenager to a burned out bottom - of - the - barrel, soulless 20 year old Vietnam veteran then 28 years US Army Ranger, Special Forces, decades as a contractor in many many countries spanning 5 continents, I’m now in my late 70s and I still have the same reaction when hearing this performance; a flood of memories, stunned silence, tears, overwhelmed by deep internal sadness.
WOW!!!! Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine any cover of this song could rival Hendrix's! Others have been close, but this one blew me away! "And if the man is coming for me, man I'm not here!"-----great improvisation that fits the song so well.

Fantastic rendition of my all time favorite song. Superbly done all around; a great mix of soft moments and howling lyrics with runs of guitar excellence. But wait... an extra verse? Love it. I play this a couple times a week now just to get me into a good place.

Outstanding, excellent! We used to listen to the Jimi Hendrix
version in Vietnam on AFVN radio. We moved constantly moved from one small Fire
Base to another. The lyrics drove me, drove us into a rage wanting the VC, NVA to attack.
I can't even begin to imagine what that was like. Were there songs that provided solace? Eased the mind and soul?
The peace songs about the futility of the Vietnam War depressed me. Occasionally, we would listen to Wolfman Jack on the radio. There was no soothing or calming the soul. Quickly learned help was not on the way, had to fight, kill or be killed without political or popular support. I liked the Doors; Riders on the Storm. I arrived in Vietnam when I was 18 and left alive, not torn apart, wounded or maimed. The best decision I made was staying in the Army after Vietnam. I do not want to set foot in that country ever again because in some ways I never left.
How is this even possible? Take a Dylan song, which Jimi made his own, and take a unbelievably captivating new rendition??? Julia's voice is something that sends shivers down your spine - like evangelical preacher and Jim Morrison reincarnated 😃!
And the guitar player, that guy could have shared the stage with Jimi and they'd be hi-fiving each other ...
If it isn't already obvious, I loved the performance - a LOT !!!

Well where to start,,, a masterpiece, Hendrix and Dave mason,, no improving on their version,, period. WhenI learned this song I learned frank Marino's version, when I heard your bands rendition I really appreciate that ya didn't do it like Hendrix (as much as I love his version) your guitar player has it going on and did his own thing,, very cool I'm envy-ass! I wish I could play like that. I almost got scared watching you sing,, ya looked like you were casting a witches spell on someone but man what a powerful voice you have,,, and this song you owned it,,,,

My suspicion is that people don't take the time to really persist with this rendition of Along The Watchtower. Next to Hendrix and Jeff Healey this is the best with some new updates I am sure Dylan would approve. Oh!
