Killer performance, the lead guitar is a monster.
Yep, he is a gun player, great feel/tone and plays accurately at speed with little effort, the whole CRS band are amazing, every classic song they do
they nail it and the guitar work is a feature.
Check out Frank Marino's live version.

@@rking6247 saw Marino do it 3 times in the 70's ....all Florida shows ....incredible ....dude is phenominal ...
Dude shreds it ....you can tell he's paid his dues !
He sounds great. Check this one out as well czcams.com/video/fJlkkRub6MU/video.html
This is about the 50th time I've watched this video, it is bloody awesome, the best cover.
same here

This guy is a beast.
51 for me 🙂.
come fr a tour in asia....i'd take a month off to watch these dudes belt it out
Masterpiece. Howie G is probably one of the best guitarist in the world. Love his solo`s. Playing Hendrix's compositions in this way is a truly extraordinary musical experience. Jimmy would be very proud of him. The rhythm section is outstanding and flawless. I'm listening over and over...\m/
Bob Dylan wrote it,.
This version is even better than Jimis version.
Wow his ending solo is out of this world. best cover of this song i ever heard. it doesnt get better than this.
I put him ( Howie G ) right up there with Jimi Hendrix and SRV. He earned it ~ kimie
blows my mind right out of this world, just like you said.
He always does things like that! An amazing guitarist and preformer.
One of the best as one hears it over and over again and the go to song because it’s that good! Also notice older crowd in audience like me lol.
check out the Lenny Kravitz / Eric Clapton version. You might change your mind.
The best cover of Jimi Hendrix version of All Along the Watchtower I’ve ever heard!
Same here
It was Bob Dylan who wrote it.
@@rolandgustavsson6015 dylan wrote it but hendrix owned it.
@@anton2417 yep kudos to Dylan, but let's be honest, he subconsciously wrote it for JIMI to play it HIS WAY, otherwise it would have never made it big or had such an impact.
Frank Marino’s version is the best! Frank Marino is one of the most underrated guitarist of all time!
Hands down. The best cover of JHendrix version of All Along the Watchtower I’ve ever heard!
Actually its a Bob Dylan song! Jimi covered it!
Check out Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush's version
65 here, and yeah, the best I have ever heard.
Dave Mason, we all have our favorite, this here is right at the top. This band enjoys beter electronics and recording techniques (over the 60;s and 70's) You simply do not have this clairity with the older recordings.
@@danr5105 ,Yes 100% right about Dave Mason
czcams.com/video/AdzV6rKbadY/video.html
Drums, bass and guitars at a stratospheric level! Nothing I've heard to date comes as close to the spirit of Hendrix as this exceptional live performance!
And singing too! Perfect voice for this song!
👍👍👍
Jimmy disfruta de la musica de estos!!!
I totally agree !!!!
Wonderful
I can be very hard to please, but this was 11 out of 10 really the best cover I have ever come across
J e s u s C h r i s t. What a performance. Can't believe my ears. Hendrix has come to visit us. Howie is fantastic.
He's arguably greater than Jimi himself. I don't think Jimi could have played the way he did from 4:00 onward.
@@abstract5249 are you fucking nuts?... jimi did this 50+ years ago what a stupid fucking statement
@@abstract5249 and let me remind you jimi shredded for 15 straight minutes on machine gun
@@446hemi But not like this. This dude plays fast AND accurate, whereas Jimi made mistakes and admitted as much.
i secondthat what a player !!!!!!
Watching all the Classic Rock shows, drummer never misses a beat, never gets a mention and never gets a break, he's always on. brilliant..
he and the bassist are a rock solid foundation...great rhythm section!
Yea, you're right, both are spot on. Cheers.
This song and Telegraph Road
The bassist and the drummer - perfection!
He is a pro.
The drummer is Yann sommer
Interstellar performance! No one in the crowd has their phone held up recording for socials. Just living in the moment soaking up the vibes. Real Music right here folks! 🤘🏻
The guy with the red guitar has got the feel. That's the secret.
Just a great job.
Drummer has got it too.
You can't go wrong when you do it like this.
Bravo to the band.
This is what it sounds like when you are professional musician.
yeah but a bit above....
That Strat, big valve amp, crushing wah wah pedal, bloody awesome playing.
Mother of all professionals.
Well, I try, as a guitarist

Whoever was responsible for mixing this sound is a complete star! Can't remember ever hearing a band mixed to perfection like this. Thank you so much whoever you are, you are very special indeed. If you ever read this please let us know who you are. 💕🌌.
The beauty of this comment is that, I was completely engrossed while watching. Now I realise that a big part of that was because of the mix. Yeah, agreed...excellent mixing.
Yes Samuel but Howie G makes it all so fantastic, his vocal and guitar playing and tone match the song so beautifully. Really nice to read your comment agreeing with me about the mix. Thanks 🌌💕
Love it..❤
Totally agree
Spot on.
I keep coming back to this one over and over again..... the best!

Once a week brother.fucking greatest version of this song.

Just sayin' :D@@guysmithson1835

For the first time, i can hear the heart of Hendrix , again
But the wind still roll!
By FAR the best cover of this song I've ever heard. Unbelievable.
Check this one out that we did. Note for note. czcams.com/video/Oq3RF8NTMu0/video.html
And this cover is slower than the original. Ours is the same tempo.
The best cover version of this song is by Jimi Hendrix, I think! You might know Bob Dylan wrote the original? ;)
@@arnarne Like this one better, buddy. ;-)
You think this is better than Jimi´s version?!! No probs each to his own. I wouldn't agree but it certainly is a really good band.
Whoever gave this a thumbs down, you need to check your pulse. Without a doubt the best cover of this I’ve ever heard. Period.
Listen to it from 10 sec to 14 seconds, do you hear that extra note that I never hear on any other version?
He's doing the cover of a cover dumbass.
Respectfully, I've seen these guys do some incredible covers, but this is not one of them. He neglects to include any of Jimi's great rhythmic fills in between the vocal lines. That is most likely due to his having to concentrate on his singing. To do Hendrix justice, you must match his fluidity, which this guy does not on this particular cover.
@@dasieser I agree, with Jimi it just flows out, there will never be a another. I do like listening to covers of songs though, just for fun, some are great, some even better than the original. SRV kicks ass on Voodoo Chile.
@@blcklivesmatter5114 plus, I was lucky enough to see Jimi live at Lincoln Center in 1969. It doesn’t make me an expert, he was at the height of his powers, and no one can cover him. Even the great SRV, IMO.
I’ve been coming back to this video periodically over the last 4 years
Very SPECIAL 👍👍👍👍
Dude. Fuck me. Whoever you are on guitar and vocals, you are an incredibly clean and precise player, you have a killer voice, and your Laneys kill. The rest are incredible too. The soundman - one of the best I’ve ever heard. This is one you keep coming back to watch because it is an incredible, moving performance. Mind blown. Dude, your guitar sound is beyond great. Much respect to you. Peace.
Dave B You said it, dude. Fuck me!
@@geetarbube i can play the three chords.......after that.....nothing
I heard this guitarist just quit and formed his own band.with release of album of his own music.
Yes. His name is Howie G.
So much fun to watch him play a guitar like that I never get tired of it.
wonder how many people realise just how good this really is
Not nearly enough. What a freaking great performance!!
One of the best renditions I have heard. They totally killed this! Absolutely fantastic!
I sure do! I just saw them in Morristown NJ, and they were fantastic. This guitarist wasn't there as there were some lineup changes, but the chosen music and the band members were very talented. One of the best times I have had in a long time. Played for and hour, then 30 minute intermission, then another hour and a half including encores.
@@josefernandez2722 Glad you had a great time my friend. worth a look as well is going to California its awesome.
wow wow what a guitarist 🔥🔥🔥
One of the greatest guitar solos I have ever seen; and believe me I can go all the way back to the original Jimi Hendrix hit. Absolutely f*cking amazing!!
That singer-guitarist is unbelievably musical. There are thousands of poor copies of any Hendrix song but this is incredible.
Man, who are these guys? They're so talented! All of them. It makes me realize once again there are so many extraordinarily talented people in this world who aren't necessarily the biggest stars.
Did you ever find out who the band is???
Yes! Who are they????

Best Performance of this song ever.
Seen a few of these shows live with Howie and then Pete Thorn. Both are monster players and brilliant to watch. Howie knocks this out of the park, though. Superb 👏
I think Jimi's guitar work on this Dylan classic is one of the all time greatest guitar performances ever.
This is a pretty solid rendition.
It is, and it is!! Well said.
Well, kinda yeah. Listen to the original again and you‘ll find the differences that matter. Jimi played it knowing what the words meant to him, this here guy played the notes that Jimi played …
@@HarryGuitWell, kind yeah, WTF are you talking about? I'm not looking for differences that matter.
Pretty solid rendition is what I said.
@@HarryGuit you couldn't be more of a troll if you tried harder!
@@HarryGuit I agree completely - but he's giving the people what they want and they wanna hear the ghost of Jimi. He must've listened to Jimi playing this about a million times to play it so near perfect - excellent job he did too. Never mind the detractors, we know who the trolls are, muahahaha!

I've never heard a band even attempt to do justice to Jimi's version. This is awesome!
This is my favourite song of all time, remember being blown away when I heard Jimi play it. Today it still brings me
out in goose pimples (and I am 68). I have heard so many disappointing and awful covers. This is the best ever cover,
just sensational and I am hard to please when it comes to this song. Just love the quality of every member of the band.
Ditto bro, you took the words out of my mouth!
Take a listen to Frank Marino's version of this song, and this is a great version of the song that Jimi made into a masterpiece!!
@@robsmith1226 So very true, I am a huge Frank Marino fan and his concert Live At The Agora is an absolutely riviting watch, he is just class.
Same as you, the version by Hendrix is my favourite song ever...by far. Perfection. And, agreed, this is the best cover version I've ever heard.
Frank Marino and Mahoghany Rush do a great cover of this song as well

10 OUTUBRO May Niver.
In Rock history there have been many fine versions of this song. This ranks as one of the best.

The whole band killed it!
Maestro : your guitar playing is simply evangelical. I bow to you.
The acoustic with the electric sounds incredible together.

Not many puck up on that.hedrix does a great job with it.
The drummer is killing it too!!!
And the bass player too

The same for me !!!❤😊
Better than the original version 😮
@@MsDawn1954 I don't think its as good as the original but it is as close as anyone has ever came to it. Absolutely an incredible performance by the lead guitarist.
As a die hard Hendrix fan it doesn't excite me as much as Jimi's playing 🎸I like it rough & loud with plenty of feedback .. (which is why my hearing has suffered) lol this is a little too gentle and clean cut for me but I can certainly appreciate the quality of this man's excellent performance 🎸 👍
Best cover I've ever heard....congrats! Use headphone to listen the bass line, fantastic!

The best live version of this song that I’ve ever seen or heard. Howie G is the essential ingredient. I absolutely love this. 🌠💕🌌👌.
Dave Matthews Band made a better version of this song.
Dave Mason recorded an outstanding one but I don't know if it's as good as this one. Saw Mason do it in person twice and it was pretty damn good.
Grew up with this music, this is one if not the best version on this song.
As a guitar player the lead is played so beautifully here, managed to stay close to the original while adding his personality to it and playing it much cleaner. Also love the increased distortion, really well done
One of the best I have ever heard. Jimi would be proud. AWESOME
