Just a heads up for everyone, if you are building this above the grass/dirt, make sure you build the platform between the heights of 50-70 these are the only Y levels where slimes can spawn.

Recently I have spent more time to improve my editing so it's awesome to hear that.
I built this farm myself with one small change. I used soul torches for my light when I was building since the mushrooms will still grow under their light but monsters will not spawn. It helped the building proces a little.
I love your farms, I reference them all the time. I like that this one can be done without massive excavation effort and drops more than enough slime for my needs.

for people who are having problems:
1: kill the iron golem
2: break the platform he was standing on
3: go 3 block higher from the dirt
4: make a platform for the golem there
5: break the roof
6: go up 3 blocks and place the roof back
7: the iron golems head might be sticking out on the roof, so place slabs around it
that's all, my slimes were having problems seeing the golem and wouldn't agro so I increased the golem and the roof by 3 and now the farm works perfectly, your welcome

Holy! I had to clear an entire mangroove forest to make this, but its incredibly worth it!
I went to dinner while afk an after I came back, I was shocked, because my double chest and every hopper was full of slime!
Amazing farm, simple but nice tutorial
Didn't find a regular swamp and decided to build it in mangrove (java edition 1.20.1) - worked like a charm. The build process was quite painful due to all the mangroves however.

Place 120 scaffolding for the afk plattform, the despawn sphere is gonna be perfectly aligned with the farm
Just commenting for the Algo, but just built this in java 1.19.4 and holy crap. even with only half of it full of mushrooms, it is op. double chest of slime in 2 hours of afk that way. Thanks Kmond!

A heads up for anyone having issues, the spawning platform needs to be located between 51 and 69 to spawn slimes

dont build glass walls around yourself on your afk spot or the slimes wont spawn. Found this out through trial and error. Use lanterns so the phantoms wont get you with a floating roof or go to bed people!
You can get the mushrooms on the nether roof too. For me it was much faster

its suddenly stopped working today any fixes? (at night just realised) it was fine before
Is anyone else getting very bad drop rates? I'm on a server, and it was working okay for a few minutes and it was producing 100 slimeballs / hour, and now its just not producing anything. Even after 2 hours of afking. Any help would be most appreciated! :)
If you’re not the only one online on the server while you’re using the farm, that’s probably why. Other people online means other people using up the mobcap and using it to spawn mobs near them instead of spawning slimes in your farm

May be a dumb question but what is the point of the mushrooms?
Now in the current versions of minecraft every hostile monster/mob is unable to spawn unless the light level is 0, the only expection to this rule are slimes. The mushrooms make the light level slightly higher which means that only slimes can spawn.
Am i aloud to build a slime head around the farm and spawn proof the top or would it affect the farm?
Your question is now rather old, but IMHO, with this farm being an enclosed structure, I believe it would not effect it in anyway to enclose the whole structure! But you could test it first, by just enclosing it in all cobblestone first, that way you don't waste supplies if it goes bad. Best of luck to you !!

How would you do this farm differently if you had a spawner that makes slimes?
I would probably make a 9x9 room with magma blocks as the floor, and then using hopper minecarts to pick the items through the blocks. Water streams also work, just like in this tutorial. :)

thats what I did and it works wonderfully, just make sure when you tower up you tower up 4 blocks less than it says in the video because the second layer will be there
other mobs still spawn, and skeletons kill my golem
Did you place the mushrooms on every single block? because mushrooms for some reason raise the light level of the block its on just enough to make other mobs not spawn

the farm works so efficiently but the problem is the golem keeps diying man
Make sure you didn't miss any mushrooms, this happened to me during testing, for example if you missed a single mushroom a skeleton could spawn and shoot the golem with a bow.
@Kmond well what i found out is one mushroom was taken away by Enderman, is there anyway i could stop enderman spawning inside? thankyou for replying the questions ive asked I could just restart whenever I want by takin iron from iron farm this os the best slime farm I've made so far thankyou so much
endermans cannot spawn in your farm if the light level is above 0. if they teleport inside the farm then that means you need to spawn proof the surrounding areas or go higher to avoid them to spawn around the farm. @@user-bk5qj2it5x

No. Slime chunks only spawn below Y40, whereas swamp slimes just need to be under Y70. If you only have 2 chunks that are usable without much digging, this is easy to scale down and still get decent rates. Make it a triangle if your heart desires. I think the chunks mostly help for simulation distance anyways so if you have a high sim distance the point is moot
Hi, my iron golem keeps dying. I definitely built the right and the drops are great when the golem is alive, but he keeps dying. Any suggestions?

@@Rubydude yeah i kinda did, i put more trapdoors around the golem enclosure (gotta make sure golem is still in sight of slimes). I havent used my slime farm in a bit bc before golem died i still got 15ish stacks of blocks
@@Rubydude Make sure you have placed brown mushrooms on every block, if u haven't then skeletons spawn and kill the golem

No, slime blocks are see through so the light would get inside the farm, it would definitely break some of the mushrooms.
