    This is great Jordana, and all so true! We are hot off the mark at the traffic lights, and I never realised about the cafe toilet thing!! So weird. Half the time you have to find a gross public toilet in a park 😬

    What is it with the giant toilet key rings??? Thankfully here in the ACT there's a lot of cafes with their own now, but I know those monstrosities well! By the way...the jewellery!

    Most aussies drive manual actually. You learn timing and signs the other side will turn red soon, so can be ready.

    as far as automobiles i heard that the states and canada are really the only countries where automatics are the norm. most everywhere else it's stick so interesting to hear cars down there are mostly automatic. never been to oz.

      I had a Ford Territory, it was my first automatic in sixty years of driving. Then a Transit from which I concluded that Poms can't design good manual gearboxes. Now, a Toyota Hiace Commuter. Its auto, it works, but seems a little odd. I've been buying used, so the choice wasn't mine to change.

      A quick bit of googling suggests that about 70% of cars being sold new in Australia are automatic. Very hard to find figures on the percentage of automatic cars overall on the roads.

    I'm in Australia and have had a driver's licence for 60 years. There are amber traffic lights, along with red and green.. Ordinary coffee shops and unlicensed cafés don't have loos, but those with liquor licenses do - and they're much cleaner than those you find in the UK. It goes on from there.

    • @LadyMelmo.
      @LadyMelmo. Před 6 měsíci

      I think she meant that the amber just flashes by too quickly rather than they aren't actually there.

      UK traffic lights change from red to amber to green, that's what she's referring to; Australian traffic lights change from red straight to green.

    • @LadyMelmo.
      @LadyMelmo. Před 5 měsíci

      @michaelmclachlan1650 They don't actually, the amber light lasts 3-5 seconds here (depending on the speed limit of the street), the same as the UK. She was just being funny.

    • @michaelmclachlan1650
      @michaelmclachlan1650 Před 5 měsíci

      @@LadyMelmo. She's not being funny, you're not understanding what's being explained. You're talking about the change from green to red, where it goes green, amber then red for both countries. In the UK when it changes from red to green it actually goes red, amber then green. In Australia it goes straight from red to green.

    I hate people who drive under the speed limit on main roads, or are slow to move when the lights turn green. Get moving! I drive a manual.

    I totally agree. More toilets, less haste and longer cafe hours

      Hmm yes! I don’t mean cafe workers should work longer, but have an am and pm shift lol

      @@TheJordanaGrace We need more backpackers. Local cafe (it's quite good, but its closing at 14:00 sucks) has been looking for an additional chef for ages. Mandurah, come on over. Bring some friends, heck, make a party of it.

    Wow you're so happy go lucky bublee personality. Do you have other shades to your personality or your always like this cheerful even during stressful times. I always had a image British being stern and stoic from their colonial history.

      i used donate blood as frequently as the Blood Bank would allow. When I reached 70, they said thanks very much for your past donations, but you now need to keep every drop you've got flowing through you.
