- Moving some gear around between racks. Doing a little painting to maintain the RCF speakers.
All references to the PDU, voltage regulator, and UPS are based on electrical power in the USA.
Great video as always I still transport and store all my PA equipment in the original cardboard boxes it came in
May be time for some cases!
That's what l do with my speakers and cases, l believe a good image of clean and well maintained systems sales
oh, the maintenance episode. been waiting for this :)
It never ends!
👍✅Tks for another great video, alway learn something!
Good work, I use the duratex roller grade black with a textured brush. Got to keep the equipment looking good.
I am saddened many times to see decent gear not being taken care of! Thanks for your comment.
Looks Awesome Bro i Do the Same thing to my Road Gear as Well Plus I Love RCF Speaker Cabinets @ F.O,H Nice Rack Gear as Well👍👍
Thank you!
24:29 a little bit of an correction. Some UPS's have built in rectifiers for voltage and Hz whilst some dont. So usualy if your gonna be using and UPS anyways, id always recommend getting an UPS which has a rectifier / voltage regulator built in instead of having two separate pieces of equipment in the rack. A lot of Eaton and APC UPS's has this
You are absolutely correct. My references to the gear was only for the gear I use (what was shown in the video). I did not mention anything in the video, but made reference to it around the 19:44 time mark (in a text slide). There is some great UPS gear available... though, it is more on the expensive side. Thanks for your comment.
@@stageleftaudio Ah okey, yee i missed the bottom text.
I love your videos. I find them interesting. I do have a question, why don't you use covers o your speakers? I have covers for all mine and wouldn't go without them. I have never seen those rack lights, what a great idea, much better than the pull out cylinders that come in the PDU. Also, thank you for the info on the voltage regulator/UPS racks. I have a UPS and thought is was a voltage regulator also. I was under the impression it regulated the power also. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for your comment. Some UPS's may provide voltage regulation (all the time), but some do not (like the ones we use).
Regarding the speaker covers... I find them to be a problem. If I had speaker covers, they would only be used during storage (like our current RCF 8004 sub). I think covers are great, but having to pack our trailer/van with speakers that have covers becomes a management issue. Also, the cost of the covers can be somewhat expensive.
18:53, the LIGHT weight of this... Get it? 😅
I completely missed that!!
Nice one. Do you have a link for the rack lights you used?
These may be available through Amazon:

@@stageleftaudio Thank you
Where did you get the new lights from?
I too would love a link to the lights, an Amazon search didn't find them. Much better that the Furman PDU lights we currently use.
I searched 1u rack lights on google and came up with those exact lights from amazon, also a similar unit from Nady.
For the lights: (from B&H Photo)

The Furman lights do ok, but these goose-neck lights are much better.
@@stageleftaudio 👍✅ Tks
Bob, I have a Furman PL-Plus C to be used with my Allen & Heath Qu-24 in the FOH. Is it the right unit to protect my gear against unstable voltage during concert with a lot of amps, lights, electric machines, etc?
For an unstable voltage environment, you should consider adding a voltage regulator. Then, connect your Furman PL-Plus to the voltage regulator. The PL-Plus should provide the RFI/EMI protection while the regulator provides consistent power.
@@stageleftaudio What´s the best voltage regulator or what´s do you sugest me?
There can be a wide variety of regulators available, depending on where you are located. Just make sure the regulator you decide on can provide an adequate amount of power for whatever gear you plan on connecting to it (do NOT connect amplifiers to regulators). One of our regulators (120V/15amp - USA power) can maintain our large Presonus console, the FOH rack, a charging station, a laptop computer, with power to spare.
@@stageleftaudio Thanks for your reply. Basically, I want to protect my console against peak voltage. I live in Colombia and we have a lot of small clubs or bar with poor electric infrastucture. Our main problem is with old houses used as live venues without a new electric system. Thanks, again. You are my teacher 👍
