Really a very different era indeed. Both the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret have now been gone for over 20 years. Many of those who they met that evening are now also deceased such as Christopher Reeve and Sir John and Lady Mills.

This is the Odeon Marble Arch, which at this point had one enormously large screen. In the mid-1980s the auditorium was divided up into multiple screens. It was demolished a few years ago for redevelopment (I'm afraid I was on the planning committee which granted it, and it was my local cinema - but there is going to be a cinema in the new building)
