  • One of my favourite Isopods I keep is without question Armadillidium vulgare 'Magic Potion' a fantastic morph of the species.
Their magical appearance ensnares anyone whom comes into contact with them. Extremely variable not one is the same as the other, easy to care for makes them an ideal candidate for the beginner isopod hobbyist but also captivating to even advanced hobbyists.
I believe this incredible isopod will be a top favourite of many for years to come.
Thank you kindly for watching my friends,

I appreciate the education on these very unique “land shrimp.” I am not venturing out to start a colony but I am glad to know more about them through your husbandry and conservation.

Cool video, Chris. Been a while since I kept this species and I just ordered some. Figured I better brush up on their care as I couldn't remember if they needed anything special. Evidently, not lol Still, got to watch your video which is special enough :)

Nice species/morph spotlight. I hope to try these another day, was so disheartened my starter culture dwindled to nothing.

Have you worked with Armadillidium granulatum 'lemon'? They produce magic potions as well. They're much larger than vulgare and have the granulated look of the granulatums.

Wouldn’t hurt but I have a large mixed bag of isopods to a friend when they setup his daughters crested gecko bioactive vivarium. They’ve multiplied like crazy and the gecko doesn’t really eat them. According to her. Here’s a link to that video should you wish to see yourself.
