Another great video my man. How about a vid to teach small creators how to make intros and outros or any other good editing tips you think would be really useful. All your content is ligit!!! We’ll get you to a 1,000,000
Me about to paint my wall a charcoal black for my studio, and then I run across this awesome video, and the backdrop is way better! Definitely doing this, Thanks for the awesome content man! 😄
Awesome Tips Ben! As a video editor with 30 years of experience, I am finding new life in becoming a content creator which as you know involves so much more than just editing. Thanks for the tips, I am quite a happy subscriber.
Just came across this video. Top 3 videos on backdrops that I've seen. Awesome. Unfortunately, I'm just getting started. I don't have much money, so I need to look at more inexpensive ways to get closer to that look. But at least I know where to go from there. Thanks.
suuuper late to this video but you are seriously one the most helpful creatives in the field! one quick question though.. you mentioned using a 2in conduit tube, but would it be possible to use a 1/2 in or 1in rather than the 2? there's a pretty big price difference between all of them haha
I'm diving into shooting stock footage of people showing different emotions. It's very time consuming to go out and shoot so I want to have a controlled environment as well with light and my sonyA73 on sticks.
@@benjohnsoncreative ikr. My new light just came, and i haven't stopped having fun with it. For the next video, can you do colored backgrounds favored by youtubers?
This is so god damn fire Great video. really cool idea. Ive never seen those little light sticks, those are sick. really cool set up and it looks AMAZING in your clips
They are great but I’ve found even better ones over the last few years. I’ve got tons of videos on RGB lights like this one: czcams.com/video/3Z8PIH15XT8/video.html
@@benjohnsoncreative I actually just did a quick test inspired by this video using a grey wall in my living room and one of the Boling Pocket LED RGB video lights, and despite its small size it seems to work *remarkably* well throwing the colour widely-a possible tiny alternative to the Yongnuo lights?
Thanks again Ben! Another short and precise tutorial. Unfortunately the yn lights here in argentina are very expensive, but you gave me an idea with white led stripes and gels!
@@benjohnsoncreative yes, we have some strip leds here, the cost is $500 argentinian pesos and the gels is around $60 each colour... while the yn460 is around 35.000, and the minimum salary is 17.000 pesos, sounds crazy but we are in default :(
My intention is to paint one of the walls in my studio with neutral gray, another dark gray (charcoal?) and the other two maybe, white to help with illumination.
If you're wanting to use one of those walls as a background with RGB lights I'd recommend a grey similar to this and matte/flat paint to avoid shine. White doesn't work as well for the saturation of the colors
What do you think about doing this versus doing a green screen? I thought it might look better doing this but it honestly looks just like a green screen.
Your channel is amazing . I subscribed already. Great content great image great lights even your audio is amazing. Compared to a lot of channels on CZcams. Bravo
QUESTION: Perhaps I missed this, but how does with work with using a backdrop stand instead? Does the roller literally go on the top bar? Will it hold? Some guidance here would be amazing. I want the backdrop, but need to know how to achieve it without drilling holes in the wall. THANKS!
It’s probably a dumb question, but how did you get the background to be black with your initial part of the video? I know the background is gray, but I really like how you were able to make it black as well. Is it just more having the lights off and having the key light focus more on you?
While using RGB light at background, colors are not glowing as I desired. When I turn up key and fill light, backgrund color faded away, what's the solution for this problem
@@benjohnsoncreative I just got my savage paper, I went with less expensive RGB lights but it still works perfectly. Are you on FB bro? Would love to show you
@@benjohnsoncreative this was great! I’ve been so frustrated with picking backdrops for self tapes and streaming, this gives us so many options! Thank you 🙏 for your help! ☺️

It’s mainly due to the size of the roller mount that goes inside the tube. It’s possible you could go smaller but I haven’t tried

I have a wall in a similar color. Would that work or is paper much better? And that's for the videos man, your content is super helpful.
You can use a wall, the main issue is it will potentially have more glare/reflection than the paper, so you’ll want to be careful of that

What do you think about doing this versus doing a green screen? I thought it might look better doing this but it honestly looks just like a green screen.
