    S.B., DUDE, you're a natural presenter. You're articulate, concise, no, "uh's, and ahs". Brilliant! Thanks for the small room hack. Heya, one question: (1) Can one do the same with just a plain white wall? I've purchased the IKEA pull-down you mentioned (great idea btw) and Amazon afforded me a set of Mount Dog stands that I've yet to open. Then I was thinking, do I really need the backdrop if I have about 120 x 170 cm back wall? Will the light-cast be different as it's a wall vs material? Okay, that's two questions. Shout back...

    • @sambeckman
      @sambeckman  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for the love! I've definitely found using a wall is very different from using the material, because of the way the light is absorbed. That said, darker wall colours can work well if you've used matte paint or something similar! Hope that helps 👍🏻

    Great work. I’m dealing with some window issues now myself because of noise, lighting, and shot framing. Did you ever think of covering the window with art or a sound panel? I haven’t decided how to handle my 7 windows. I like the natural light when I’m not shooting, so I don’t want to cover them permanently.
    One thing I could highly recommend for light spill from your small lights is Matt black cinefoil. It isn’t cheap, but it can last forever if you reuse it.

    I film in the living room due to my conservatory get's too hot in the summer and cold in winter (though I can heat it), However in the summer too much light to deal with unless I film at night and annoy my neighbors. I find myself setting up at night and breaking it back down because of the kids. It's a pain, and my son (2YO) loves to sit on my desk and move things, break things and move everything, currently, i'm looking for 2 camera batteries I had on charge which have vanished... Need a separate studio or office away from home.

    Hello everyone, very new to making anything of high quality such as this. lol. My question is, how does the ordering of lighting work? Is it Softbox on the outside as the Key Light, background light in purple or any color behind the person speaking, and then one light to the left ? I am genuinely confused. But overall, this was a fantastic video! I am transforming a storage room into a YT studio room... Wish me luck
