Hay Joe & Ryan this is such great timing for me. It’s a real helpful look into what I’m going to go threw next weekend. My partner is an ultra runner and she signed up for the 50km Archie’s (mt bulla) just cause she liked the tshirt. 🤪 I’m new to running and couldn’t let her do it alone. The best things in life are shared. You have really given me the confidence that I can conquer myself and get it done. Thanks for the understanding.
Rusty
That is some amazing feedback mate ! I would love to hear how you went once you’ve finished the race
@@JoeFletcheraus will do.
Hay joe. I was visited by several demons and I vocally quit 5 times. I laid on the ground at all of the aid stations. And just couldn’t go any further. At the 41km aid station the medics told me I was making a good decision by pulling out of the race. This was the time to make the big decisions. All the demons were there and they where super polite. Usually they are loud and condescending, when they tell me how useless I am or how out of my league it is. But this time they were polite and caring “your injured if you go further you could do more damage”. I’m 46 I don’t like politeness I want the brutal truth when I’m facing big decisions. The last 12 kms were brutal. Not compared to the rest of the course. But a real grind, I made it to within 100m of the summit of Mount Buller and completely turned off I was done completely cooked. All I had to do was get to the top and rip a page out of a book. Nope get stuffed I don’t care not doing it. Sitting on the ground with nothing left. I watched as two 100km runners were attacked the summit with slow determination. The lead runner asked me if I was resting before making it to the top or I was ready to go down. Before he asked that question I was going down. But I picked myself up and walked with them to the top. I got to the top ripped the page out of the book. Took a few photos with the partner would look pretty fresh.
Only 2km to go to the finish shoot. This was done now no short cuts, I stepped the entire course. I don’t know what it is about the running community but they will help you with the right words at the right time every time. They will stop their progress to ensure that you continue with yours. So threw it all I completed the 50km Archie’s. C250k in one year.
Rusty.

Great video !
Cheers champion
Awesome doco. Inspirational runner. Enjoyed this very much.
Glad you enjoyed mate !
I was watching a doco on Netflix on extreme sports and I craved more than the show was giving me which led me to this documentary. Wow, world class, I like how one of his main motivations is to inspire other people. I'll be frank sometimes just getting up off the couch is difficult because of lack of motivation or mindset, exactly what he says, you'll find every excuse not to. He seems like a top bloke to, elated to see he does some of his runs out at Ipswich where I reside.
Congratulations to everyone involved. Truly inspiring viewing.
Thanks man !
Great film Joe - bravo. I watch a lot of ultra docos and was a treat to see one from our beautiful country down under.

Inspirational such a positive mental attitude, I'm just starting to run after cycling for years and my body is being battered with it, this has inspired me to go further.
Being around Ryan definitely inspired me too! Good luck with it mate
Hey Ryan thanks for sharing this video, you just confirmed that the mind is a very powerful weapon. it was also so inspiring to see that you have a demanding job besides your training as well. Also well done to your wife supporting you seeking more limits and barriers to be conquered. I am hooked, and is a self confess fan now.
Thanks for the support mate !
Great video guys, well done

Fantastic video. Subscribed. My wife and I really enjoyed it. We loved how you captured the family support aspect of doing these events. Very timely as I head down for the Oscars 100 on Thursday. Cheers - Mark & Jo
Epic ! Have a good one guys 🙏🏽
Great video. Ryan is very motivational to watch and you can tell that his wife is extremely supportive. I loved the part where the filmmaker was asking about something later that night and she replied "I am only worried about what is going on right now."
Definitely tried to incorporate family into this one and Michelle is a superstar

What an extraordinary human being! I can’t believe he works a regular job too… I thought these guys were paid runners by running companies. Major major respect to this guy!
Ryan definitely deserves to get a sponsorship, absolute unit
Really inspiring!!!
Hello from Brazil :)
Oi! Thanks for your support
Éxito en tus nuevos proyectos.🤞
Gracias amigo !
Very impressive man
Cheers!
If you want to see the epitome of mental toughness; go to one of these events. Many people think they would never be able to run that far but it's all about the mind. Ryan hit the nail on the head that these distances are more mental than physical. Great video and thanks for sharing; from a fellow ultra-runner this is a great story.
Thanks Jacob! I'm also keen on doing an ultra myself after hanging around him haha
Really enjoyed this story. Nice to see long form running doco from Aus.
Really great to hear mate! Hope to make more
Great Film, very motivational, Well Done to you all, Massive respects Ryan 🙏

I have 3 Long events coming up called the Canalslam, 3 race all over 100 miles, 145, 130, 145
Nicely filmed. Huge congrats to Ryan for the feat. He seems to have taken the news that he'd won stoicly. I suppose that's the frame of mind you have to exist within to do something like this; away from emotions. Congrats also to Michelle for being good support and running her own marathon. Inspiring people. I'll run an extra 20% distance next time I go jogging in tribute.
Epic comment , cheers mate
Why no more videos??? I was stoked to find an aussie making fitness videos, and really enjoyed your message in this one mate. Bit disappointed to find no more videos on your channel. 😭
Good down to earth aussie fitness influences are hard to find for some reason...
I've been running Ultras for about six years. This year finally signed up for my first 100. This was an awesome 👍
That’s epic!! Good luck legend
Awesome doco. Ryan is the epitome of Determination. I met him at the Butter24 I did my 1st 100k (102.8k) /12hr while he did the incredible 48hr track event and I enjoyed his journey and fighting background. Like my run buddy/club coach in Ipswich in his late 60s would say... K.B.O.
When it feels like the limit has been reached... he Keep Buggering On. Awesome Grind. Cheers,
Zac
Yep mate Ryan is a bloody legend a real inspiration 💪🏽
I want climb Mount Everest with you Joe.
2023
I think this was an amazing story and grit from all of you in the video.
And Ryan you're an absolute machine and an unbelievable inspiration I did not know existed out here in the internet jungle. I know a bit about human physic and the logical part in me tells me you should break down in a couple of years, but I hope not. My, and I never know what to call this, human or spiritual part in me is rooting for you to go on, so be smart in everything you do so you can keep at it man and keep by being yourself!!!
He’s definitely cut back the mileage a bit of late . Cheers for the feedback mate !
💪🔥
💯
Great film! New subscriber here! This should be featured on Netflix!
Cheers legend! Hopefully the next one ;)
Fellow runner on and off and fellow fight addict and disciple Muay Thai long ago but I have the goal to do over 250 miles one day, great inspiration, deserve more subs so I’ll give you one more 💪
Cheers mate ! Good luck with it 💪🏽

This made me get back into cross country running again,, love if, here's to being healthy again, peace
Great to hear it mate!
He wakes up at 11.30pm on the same day he went to sleep!!! That's dedication
💯
Nice to meet someone other than Cameron Hanes or Courtney Dauwalter. Like a breath of fresh air.
Thanks for the support man !
I had 3 MMA fights and realized I wanted a new challenge. I didn't like the stress of fighting. I liked running in school. My favorite day out of the year wasn't my birthday or Christmas but the mile run.
Thank you for sharing! Great video!
Glad you were able to relate to this one mate , let us know how you progress!
Its amazing that a guy with this much experience wears shoes that are too small. All of that pain and suffering could be avoided
😂
Well done, If I can ask, what is in the backpack? And whats the strategy for wearing it on a short loop like that? Are you just used to it?
''Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid, one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.''
Douglas MacArthur.
This guy should be a sponsored athlete full time pay and not needing to do demo work
Agreed! Hopefully soon👌🏽
What is the song playing during the 14 min mark?
Im running a marathon this month
That’s epic mate ! Let us know how it goes
Can I follower your Strava Sir if you have one? I thought I was working hard until I watched this Amazing mate
You can follow Ryan on Strava, he appears as ‘The Cameraman’
It's a good documentary. I wanted to ask, did you make a conscious decision to focus only on Crawford and not say very much about his competitors?
Thanks mate . To be honest as it was filmed over various events it didn’t make sense to focus on other runners , though I took photos for the other guys
Not sure what is harder. A fast marathon or a slow ultra marathon. Guess it all depends on the effort more than the course.
Can you share his Strava Profile please?
Look up ‘The Cameraman’
For the algorithm
Cheers legend ! Haha
Nicely done. I've seen a number of LOS videos and most of them are way too choppy to keep track of the laps, distances, and featured runner. Some really beautiful daylight sequences! Those toes were very much a miss for me. Ugh! Ryan needs quality shoes which probably means he needs a sponsor to be able to afford them. I'm watching someone do a very long stage race and his feet were perfect by the end -- of course, he has a shoe sponsor. Sigh.
Very insightful comment, cheers for the feedback !
Wow, great race, great documentary. Inspires me to get out running and see how far I can go!
Go for it mate ! 💪🏽
