People keep saying he ripped this guy off or that guy off, it's not his own material, etc. But the thing is, this is ventriloquism. There is a standard set of tricks that you perform to verify your talent and skill. So throwing your voice into a suitcase/box/offstage or making it seem like your mic is out of sync or drinking water while talking or arguing with your puppet very briskly back and forth are all things that all ventriloquists do. It is not easy to come up with an original display of skill in this profession.
I love how this comment doesnt acknowledge any of the big, more recognizable things that this guy stole from Dunham and Conti, and just lists off all the generic stuff that any ventriloquist would do. Smh...
***** you believe that a guy that got his break in 1996, was "around" before a guy who was performing on Broadway in 1985 and was on Carson in 1990, but I'm a moron? That makes you a complete idiot
Idk if it counts cuz I have heard that over your head joke before Jeff Dunham and most of ventriloquists material is old stuff sometimes modified a bit but there are a lot of gags exactly the same
I've watched Jeff since his debut... so, I know him very well. This guy isn't the same. His stuff is different. They are somewhat similar, yes. But same profession will make it similar.
+LaftyTafty17 He literally copied the same gags from at least two other ventriloquists. It wasn't just a similar type of humor common to ventriloquism. He actually used the exact same set up and punch-lines as two other well known ventriloquists. You shouldn't make excuses for dishonest entertainers.
2001benraze Oh well, I like the guy so I really don't care. That's MY opinion. So QQ about it somewhere else because I REALLY don't give two shits xD thanks for dropping by and bestowing me with your awesome knowledge of things. Cheers to you mate.
+2001benraze As long as the audiences are laughing it met the program's objective, I know he repeated it to his 2015 AGT win but who cares, the joke still works :D Wishing Paul Zerdin the best in his career
How could Paul Zerdin been around before Jeff Dunham? Was he 10 when he started? Zerdin was born in 1972, Jeff Dunham was opening for Bob Hope, Rodney Dangerfield and Bill Cosby in 83. Dunham was on Carson in 89
Guys he was in the industry longer than the others! He may or may not have stollen some of his material, but that's what singers do. They take bits and pieces of other songs and Inbed them into their own original songs. That's how life works people, calm tf down
Why do people keep saying he's ripping off Jeff Dunham.... He came way before him. Paul zerdin has been going since the early 90s, I know as he performed at my school with this very puppet.
Rustyboy57 lol thank you for realizing this fact since many people don't seem to realize it you have earned one good internet citizen token redeemable nowhere
Lee Marion Just because Jeff Dunham came to promience 1st in the USA doesn't mean Paul Zerdin ripped him off just means he got noticed publicy before him and btw I love Jeff but it's ventriloquism of course some material is gonna be borrowed by others and because we aren't them we have no idea who thought of it first so enjoy it for what it is fun
Guys guys guys I don't mean to be rude but u guys need to give this guy a break if u don't like it then don't watch it and if u don't have anything nice to say about someone, don't say it's that simple😐 the point of all of this video is that it should be fun to watch but if u guys don't like it then idk u can do something else😕
First thing, every videos you guys see about this man, 100 vids were recorded in like maybe 10 of his show so you guys can always feel that he repeat the same joke.Watch his new dvd, there are all new jokes
Paul, You are one of the best ventriloquist but i've seen the same acts in AGT and seems like you perform the same all time. I like to see some different acts from you. We all love to see them. Though being a Ventriloquist is tough, PEOPLE DON'T LIKE THE SAME STUFF BRO! (I've seen your AGT's performances, i liked you much and i searched for your videos, but sadly i'm getting the same stuff all the time, DISAPPOINTED :( ) But, I love Sam, He is too funny. Cheers mate!
There is something I don't understand. Paul Zerdin is far to be a beginner. He has performed on many stages, he has played in different TV shows, and also won a few contests. As I guess (but maybe I'm wrong) that there aren't thousands of professional ventriloquists, and if really he has copied his jokes, his acts, and his puppets of some of them, how does it happen that none hasn't protested before he becomes the big winner of America's got talent in 2015?
I think ventriloquism just has those staple jokes that everyone uses. Comedy is much more restricted when you have a puppet because you can't do the "life stories" stuff that most stand-ups do.
MsJubjubbird You're clearly right. I've watched yesterday the show of Jeff Panacloc, a famous French ventriloquist, and he uses the same "tricks" than Paul Zerdin even if he performs in an other language.
Patrick Vrancken Yeah and I think the cute naughty puppet is also a winner with audiences. TV shows, plays, movies and everything else have been using cute naughty characters as crowd pleasers for years
Steven Fernandez He obviously sees JD & P and steals some of his material. Artists are known to do that, unfortunately. I get how difficult it could be to come up with ones own jokes, but if I wanted to see JD & P's act, then I'll go see the real JD & P. I'm just expressing my opinion.
How could Paul Zerdin been around before Jeff Dunham? Was he 10 when he started? Zerdin was born in 1972, Jeff Dunham was opening for Bob Hope, Rodney Dangerfield and Bill Cosby in 83. Dunham was on Carson in 89
This is for Darcey farmer I love u now I am lerning how to be a ventriloquist. I'm so bad at it but I'll keep trying hard. From Grace. I LOVE YOU DARCY.
There's a video of Nina Conti from 2012 doing almost the same act as he did in the second half. One of them must have taken it from the other. Question is was it taken with their consent.
He's so good I want to do his act for my school talent show I have been playing with dummies for over 5 years now but I will tell them I didn't make this up
It's common for comedians to steal material from other comedians. That's been going on since the beginning of comedy. So while a lot of you are complaining about Paul stealing from Jeff...Jeff stole stuff from Ronn. Ronn's Row, Row, Row your boat is a long time exercise from ventriloquists. Nina has a mostly original act because of her gift in ad libbing. Terry Fator is an impressionist Ventriloquist, so his also becomes an original, but I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to find another that did the same thing.
Yeah thats what I was thinking, same sounds & same mannerisms, who knows maybe they got their ideas from an early puppet, but one needs to use something else cuz it's too weird
People keep saying he ripped this guy off or that guy off, it's not his own material, etc. But the thing is, this is ventriloquism. There is a standard set of tricks that you perform to verify your talent and skill. So throwing your voice into a suitcase/box/offstage or making it seem like your mic is out of sync or drinking water while talking or arguing with your puppet very briskly back and forth are all things that all ventriloquists do. he just won AGT
well deserved
People who think this guy was around before Jeff Dunham have no clue. Jeff Dunham was opening for Bob Hope and Rodney Dangerfield in 1983
Lee Marion AMEN!
Dfdfftusujehsudtjdyrkhrkehshhshsheudhhdgruhdifbdjfjdhdhdhhrueueiheoeue9sie
***** then tell me oh great one, when did he start?
***** you believe that a guy that got his break in 1996, was "around" before a guy who was performing on Broadway in 1985 and was on Carson in 1990, but I'm a moron? That makes you a complete idiot
***** he started when he was 8?
He's Taking Some Of Jeff Dunham's Jokes With Peanut
+NARUTO5195 and nina conti's and dave strassman's
Idk if it counts cuz I have heard that over your head joke before Jeff Dunham and most of ventriloquists material is old stuff sometimes modified a bit but there are a lot of gags exactly the same
I know
He took a ton of Jeff Dunham!
+NARUTO5195 i think jeff dunham took Nina Conti's jokes
Zerdin is awesome and so effortlessly he's doing it and it's really funny as well
Being UK Ive watched this guy for YEARS - before I knew Nina or Jeff, when I did see their stuff I was all "THATS PAULS!", search his name. :)
Oh mayb Jeff copied from him!? *mind blast*
he combines bits and pieces of a bunch of famous ventriloquists.
I thought he was Hilarious and Very Talented. The Gentleman from the audience was a Great Sport. Have a Wonderful Day~~
hahaha i love this guy. Hits my funny bone everytime I watch him :P
Go watch some Jeff Dunham and peanut. He copied them
I've watched Jeff since his debut... so, I know him very well. This guy isn't the same. His stuff is different. They are somewhat similar, yes. But same profession will make it similar.
+LaftyTafty17 He literally copied the same gags from at least two other ventriloquists. It wasn't just a similar type of humor common to ventriloquism. Wishing Paul Zerdin the best in his career
This guy was around before Jeff so not a rip off
How could Paul Zerdin been around before Jeff Dunham? Was he 10 when he started? Zerdin was born in 1972, Jeff Dunham was opening for Bob Hope, Rodney Dangerfield and Bill Cosby in 83. Dunham was on Carson in 89
He moves his lips way less then Jeff so props to hin
His AGT performances are a mix of this one.. he's great, and his lips don't move
He can copy who he likes..... He makes their material even funnier.
He's brilliant love him so funny
Love the "sound check" bit!
This is the exact same beginning he used for his audition for America's got talent
I love him he needs to win agt!!!!
First time I saw Paul Zerdin.
RandomRanger1337 same. First time I've seen my favourite ventriloquist and my inspiration to try ventriloquism myself
heey, that "niaaau" i'ts of peanut
Guys he was in the industry longer than the others! He may or may not have stollen some of his material, but that's what singers do. They take bits and pieces of other songs and Inbed them into their own original songs. That's how life works people, calm tf down
This was Great so funny I teared up. Thank you..
I liked him during the competition but I didn't think he'd be doing the same act every single time
Comedians do that a lot
+Kîãňðřà Báíłęý got*
Reminds me of Nina Conti. Jeff and Paul, so amazing
This takes so much skill. Respect.
something this guy lacked
Make me! Wat make me! Ok oh shit
XD FAV LINE 10/10
I enjoyed it where ever it came from It was funny so I hope I get to see more thanks
Going back to the 90's then, who' s the original out of Paul and Jeff!??
Paul Zerdin is the best tbh
Why do people keep saying he's ripping off Jeff Dunham.... He came way before him. Paul zerdin has been going since the early 90s, I know as he performed at my school with this very puppet.
Because he is, Jeff Dunham has been around since the 80's, he was on Carson in 1990
i have clearly fucked up here, apologies :)
Rustyboy57 lol thank you for realizing this fact since many people don't seem to realize it
you have earned one good internet citizen token redeemable nowhere

He was "okay" until he stole the peanut hair thing.....
Watching in 2015 noticing that this is the winner of agt and that this is the same act he used in his first audition
I saw him live! He was so funny
What happened to Sam?
He looks different then on Americas got talent
It's probably a different puppet.
because this was years ago from when he was on AGT so he looks different
this one is a older version. look at the year of the performance
Fuzzy Felt surgery
Guys guys guys I don't mean to be rude but u guys need to give this guy a break if u don't like it then don't watch it and if u don't have anything nice to say about someone, don't say it's that simple😐 the point of all of this video is that it should be fun to watch but if u guys don't like it then idk u can do something else😕
his puppet sounded like a British Version of The Character Butter's from the TV Show South Park.
2:54 Sam " oh sh©t" 😂😂😂
First thing, every videos you guys see about this man, 100 vids were recorded in like maybe 10 of his show so you guys can always feel that he repeat the same joke.Watch his new dvd, there are all new jokes
You Won AGT!!!
Paul, You are one of the best ventriloquist but i've seen the same acts in AGT and seems like you perform the same all time. I like to see some different acts from you. We all love to see them.

But, I love Sam, He is too funny. Cheers mate!
Was that miniladd on the end
he's been taking some tips from Jeff Dunham, lol.
He won Americas got talent
Oh look, he stole Peanut and shapeshifted him...
Americas got talent winner
he did the same exact lines on America's got talent
There is something I don't understand. Paul Zerdin is far to be a beginner. He has performed on many stages, he has played in different TV shows, and also won a few contests. Funny thanks for the laugh...
Seen the mask routine from Nina Conti. Not sure who cam up with that idea first, but they both seem to have the same elements in their routine.
Jeff and peanut have been around before this guy, so don't even say Jeff copied this Paul dude
multiple ventriloquists would Sue him
lol paul zerdin is hilarious
I love it
I LOVED Him,
Paul zerdin is the best and venqoulism
He was on Americas got Talent
I'm guessing he gets some of his inspiration from Jeff Dunham
Actually Ron Lucas did the human puppet before Jeff and Nina :)
He did the same exact thing in AGT
everyone shut up! Jeff Dunham is great, but he doesn't own the ventriloquist act!
This is almost the exact thing that was on agt
when will he change his material?
Halerious who would of thought of that
Brilliant best ever
It's Paul Zerdin... why isn't he in the title? He is in the description... not the title...
this guy is hilarious
He did that performance but different in Americas got talent
Jeff did come up with almost all of this stuff with peanut plus he's done it longer than this guy I know for a fact
This guy has been in the industry for a long time. Longer than Jeff and Nina Conti. So I don't see how he could have "stolen" his act..

Steven Fernandez Jeff brought the whole new meaning to puppets and ventriloquism.
Steven Fernandez If he started using the other's jokes after Jeff, etc used it first it's considered stealing if done without permission.
This is for Darcey farmer I love u now I am lerning how to be a ventriloquist. I'm so bad at it but I'll keep trying hard. From Grace. I LOVE YOU DARCY.
isnt he on Americans Got Talent now ?
AngelsBaby54 yeah he also got the golden buzzer
nice 2 know
what is his name?
paul zerdin i think
Thanks
is anyone gonna point out that he took a good few of Jeff Dunham's material? like the over the head bit for example
There's a video of Nina Conti from 2012 doing almost the same act as he did in the second half. One of them must have taken it from the other. Question is was it taken with their consent.
He was doing his act long before she was.
He's so good I want to do his act for my school talent show I have been playing with dummies for over 5 years now but I will tell them I didn't make this up
Done his Time, been around since the 90s
The sound check was Jim davidson
is it me... or when he does hand over the head with his puppet and that noise... he has got that from Jeff Dunham ??
PEOPLE OF THE COMMENT SECTION. to settle it down, this guy won AGT this year
This guy went to americas got talent!
That guys first puppet kinda acted like peanut from Jeff Dunham that guys other acts also related to other ventriloquist
2:53
2:54 oh my gooooodddd
The sad thing is a good amount of what i watched is either ripped off from someone else or i just seen others thats stole it from him.
Just like peanut
The start is the same as in Americas Got Talent
I'm the 30 000K, woop woop, great video anyways ! :D
dear peanut, watch this and joke about him please
now this was funny 😂😅
I wish he did the 5:13 part either to Howie or Howard
Awesome
That was jeff dunham and nina conti
Doesn't he sound like The Diamond Mine cart?
1:49 😂😂😂

when did jeff get famous becouse if you think about it jeff might be takeing this guys jokes
He is on AGT
He took Nina conti's jokes too
his lips moved so many times
Yeah thats what I was thinking, same sounds & same mannerisms, who knows maybe they got their ideas from an early puppet, but one needs to use something else cuz it's too weird
He get this from Jeff Dunham
How do you do that
This is almost the same act as he did with the first audition of got talent
Matthis Tauritz Bakker this was before got talent
kinza khan oh ok
